I liked this version; it reminds me of the way an old folk tale would be told by an elder or "old timer". There's always a variation on the way a scary tale is told, but this was straightforward and not pretentious.
In a reduced book version that I just read to my daughter's classroom, Ichabod is very selfish and mean. He just wants the father's money -- doesn't really love the girl.
@athull08 Now they did this one in the comedy version with Jeff Goldblum, but I always wanted to see it done where Brom Bones AND the Headless Horseman were together in the same scene, because I always felt there should've been a REAL Headless Horseman instead of just the stories and him parading around as him.
@TheBookWorm1718 whenever I read the original book, I always think of an alternative ending, in which Brom, waiting for Ichabod, disguised as the horseman, comes across the REAL horseman, and is caught and never seen again. I would have liked that. Happier ending.
Scared the living daylights outta me too, especially when I thought about it at night! Yet I still watched over and over.

This animation short film of Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow was like like the animation of Harry Nilsson's The Point.
