finally someone who can play! anyway dont get too set on tube amps, if you experiment with the crate head and get a good marshall 1960 cab your world will turn... mesa boogies rule the roost but the maintainance on them sucks... thats why i went back to solid state....

its a loud amp... but i regret buying it. solid states are good... but you still cant beet the sounds of a good tube amp.. i plan to sell this amp and save money for a mesa-boogie amp. this amp has a hard time cutting through... and the distortion isent all that. id give it a 3\10, its more of a "sit in your room and jam" kinda amp unfortunately ;(

that sucks, i happen to like the tone of crates SS amps. plus i enjoy the 'no tubes' portion because im always paranoid something will go wrong with my tubes during a show. and of course they can get expensive. I learned that after buying my peavey 5150 combo, ha.

thats cool... i just have a different opinion... i compared the sounds of the duel-rec mesa head, the Marshall mg100hdfx head, and this crate.... yah tubes are expensive... but as long as the sound is good i don't mind lol
