@Wedwickboy no the first encounter with the flood was very much pre HALO CE in the period where the Humans were at war with the Forerunners and the Human technology was able to compete with that of the Forerunners. The flood were just a small disease that landed on a Human planet Rath Hakkor (i think it was) in 2 Cargo vessals made by an unknown civilisation but were very early in creation and could only infect little animals but grew until the Humans created a cure and destroyed them.
then they sent the flood away until a while later they returned and attacked the forerunners but the flood were much more advanced and this started the Forerunner-Flood war that lasted 300 years in which the Rings, Shield worlds, AI (like Guilty Spark) and the Ark were created to fight and destroy the flood. When the Halo's were activated all Forerunners died and the highly advanced Human Race known as Reclaimers were killed and the last of them were inside the arc and then exiled to Earth.
Then the Technology invented by the Humans was lost due to them being isolated from all their previous information due to it being destroyed and to make life easier they destroyed many of their remaining files and history with the Forerunner aswell as the only known cure to the flood. Then the humans had to restart their path to dominance of the milky way and that is why the humans in all Halo's dont actually know much about the Flood and the Forerunners or precursors.

Here is my opinion on halo wars, it would have probably done better on the PC. but you have to admit for a console RTS it was made very well compared to those other pieces of shit like Command and conquer (on the 360, for the PC it was pretty damn good) and all around I think ensemble studios left us on a good note because they finally made a RTS for the console that was actually good. In the end you have to give them at least that much.
Well all I can say about Halo Wars is it dug the grave for Ensemble studios.
I think they were having issues before (mainly because of the delay of other games), but this game pretty much sealed the deal. Too bad too, I really like the Age of Empires series.
Well he's wrong about creating waypoints, but I can't blame him for that; I myself didn't know until like a month ago, and I'd had the game since launch day! All you have to do is hold down the X button instead of clicking it, and you can set destinations for a unit to go after it's done with its current task. That's useful for shit like collecting crates in the beginning or setting up recon runs on the enemy bases.
I was incredibly excited for this game, but sold it again after only four weeks. The main reasons were framedrops in battle, which makes it all but impossible to micro manage your units in big battles, and the gruesomely unbalanced covenant leader units, who acted more like one-man-armies than support units.
All in all, this is good for a basic console rts, but for someone who mostly plays strategy games, it will mostly disappoint. This is RTS light.
i had the frame rate drop as well but after about 4 weeks im pretty sure they patched it up about 2 or 3 times and the convenant have those "hero" units because the rest of the army is just a little weaker than the UNSC. it also balances out because there powers use your resource in order to maintain so its not like there these unstoppable killing machines. even then all you needed was a disruption bomb and then they were gone. sorry for my rant im not trying to bash im just defending the game
Those who haven't played Halo Wars before should NOT take this review seriously. This guy is nit-picking, and, in my eyes, obviously doesn't understand the concept of RTS games. Halo Wars is a good game.
I tend to favor FPS games over any other genre, but this game is insanly fun!
and also the way he complains about armys taking time to build is bollox, online 1v1 you can expect to be fighting after about 4 minutes at higher levels

Not to spoil anything, but the Spirit of Fire, from what we know of, never made human contact after the incident with the Flood. Therefore, the Spirit of Fire couldn't have told the rest of humanity about the Flood.
This is a great game but i dont really like the idea of RTS for 360 and i also dislike the 5 minutes of fun gameplay it gets boring after a while of playing it but all in all it is a very well rounded game its simple fairly easy to control has beautiful visuals and fairly good cut scenes :D
Ye i probs can, i will just tell u wat i think of it, the campaign is solid but is 2 straight forward with no gasping or shocking moments however the actual gameplay is great nd very straight forward for new comers. each unit has it's egual share of pros and cons: jackals r gud against infantry but fail against vechiles. scorpions are gud agsinst infantry nd most other vechiles but arn't that great at air units overall its a gud game that i dont think will get old 4 a while did that help?

-You can send different units to different way points when selected from the all units menu or paintbrush.
-campaign wasn't that short has more levels then an average halo game.
-Only played as covenant in one halo game most levels weren't that great, and you can play as them in multi player deal with it.
-Flood wouldn't work in campaign or multiplayer.
-Mechanics are fine he's just bad (besides vehicle driving)
-Just in case, Story was fantastic.

Not really bro, Bungie can at any time do development for any platform as they are not forced to only develop just for the 360 anymore.
But I seriously doubt they'll do anything about it without raising suspicions, harming ties and fans of the franchise.
It may be a dumb question for this particular game, but saying that ANY halo game for ANY OTHER console (PS3 in this case) is "dumb" isn't all true.

I was incredibly excited for this game, but sold it again after only four weeks. The main reasons were framedrops in battle, which makes it all but impossible to micro manage your units in big battles, and the gruesomely unbalanced covenant leader units, who acted more like one-man-armies than support units.
All in all, this is good for a basic console rts, but for someone who mostly plays strategy games, it will mostly disappoint. This is RTS light.

i had the frame rate drop as well but after about 4 weeks im pretty sure they patched it up about 2 or 3 times and the convenant have those "hero" units because the rest of the army is just a little weaker than the UNSC. it also balances out because there powers use your resource in order to maintain so its not like there these unstoppable killing machines. even then all you needed was a disruption bomb and then they were gone. sorry for my rant im not trying to bash im just defending the game

Those who haven't played Halo Wars before should NOT take this review seriously. This guy is nit-picking, and, in my eyes, obviously doesn't understand the concept of RTS games. Halo Wars is a good game.
I tend to favor FPS games over any other genre, but this game is insanly fun!

Nah, he's fairly dead on. This is a much more arcady version of RTS's. Fun, easy to get into, quick, but not deep and not enough variety.
I had allot of fun with it, but give me Total War, Starcraft, Command or Conquer, over Halo Wars any day of the week.
Halo fans should love the hell out of this though!

and also the way he complains about armys taking time to build is bollox, online 1v1 you can expect to be fighting after about 4 minutes at higher levels

halo wars doesnt have a feeling of RTS looks like Halo was meant to be FPS and not a RTS even duh i do not like Halo i think Halo is the same game over and over but thats my opinion

Played it a bit at a friend's house. The story and cut scenes were of course top notch but I didn't like the gameplay.
It just isn't my cup of tea to play an RTS on a console. Too slow and clunky and I lack the overview control you get with PC controls.
If they ported to PC I'd probably get it particuarly for the story.

Not to spoil anything, but the Spirit of Fire, from what we know of, never made human contact after the incident with the Flood. Therefore, the Spirit of Fire couldn't have told the rest of humanity about the Flood.

This is a great game but i dont really like the idea of RTS for 360 and i also dislike the 5 minutes of fun gameplay it gets boring after a while of playing it but all in all it is a very well rounded game its simple fairly easy to control has beautiful visuals and fairly good cut scenes :D

Ye i probs can, i will just tell u wat i think of it, the campaign is solid but is 2 straight forward with no gasping or shocking moments however the actual gameplay is great nd very straight forward for new comers. each unit has it's egual share of pros and cons: jackals r gud against infantry but fail against vechiles. scorpions are gud agsinst infantry nd most other vechiles but arn't that great at air units overall its a gud game that i dont think will get old 4 a while did that help?
