I know this is waste of time but try to grasp this, first, everything dies, then life starts to re-enter the effected area, then the radiation levels cause mutations, but it ain't x-men, the mutations are weaker and they natural selected out of the picture. This carries on until ther radiation levels drop, mutation levels dropping similarly.

I guess perhaps one of the reasons we value the accumulation of material wealth is because we can physically see it, and not only that, but if our desires are linked towards material objects, all of our attention is focused on those desires, and it sort of creates this narrow thinking frame, where not enough of our cognition is used to focus on more important things like peace of mind or a meaningful existence.
