  • I'm glad I have this in my life

  • who else likes the British Shorthair 0:52

  • This is one hell of a handy vid :D

  • i don't have a cat. and after watching this video i want to have one :( is it better to own a cat or a dog? both are cute!

  • You know you have been watching too many cat videos, when you start getting cat advertisements. :/

  • the cornish rex scared the shit out of me

  • Cats ruleess

  • Where's tom? from tom and jerry :o

  • i hate cats i like dogs :D

    cats are very delicious mmmm

    i feel me hungry

  • 3:58 somali cat. looks like a jackal or dog with a cats head :z

  • i miss my missing cats i hope they are ok

  • they are all beautiful but the selkirk rex ?? is soo pretty

  • 77 cats but not 1 of the 1 im looking for .... but very well made :) I have 2 baby pure bred lionheads but I cant find any pics of them online so im not sure if I was told the right breed, but I was told they have hair and not fur, they dont shed, and eventualy grow a main like a lion. is it possible?

  • @missman90 Sorry, no.

  • 2:40 Ocicat <3

  • Siberian cat is cute. ! :3 rules lols

  • 1:26 BAD ROMANCE CAT!!! :D

  • YOU DIDN'T MENTION SPHYNX CATS???

  • @joseyposey93 The sphynx cat is at 4:03

  • @ Sidkir

Sand cats are also a completely wild species of cat and shouldn't be included in a list of domesticated breeds no more than a serval should.

  • Servals ARE NOT PETS. They're a totally different species from the domesticated house cat. Having wild-domestic hybrids on here is bad enough but to lump a completely wild cat in with domestic cats is misleading. You wouldn't put a cougar or cheetah on this list would you? Why would you put a serval on here?

  • what about sand cats??

  • What's the name of the song that is playing?

  • i think i have a dwarf cat or the sokoke look on my channel to see I think I have the sokoke but I live in AZ so

  • @MrFury4 Well, then dont ask this dick-head. He will just say you have a mutt. because he is a total dick.

  • Hi. I think I have a Tennessee Rex, a Calico Angora, and a white Angora. Will you look a some pictures to help me identify these cats? Please?

  • @analyzingfunny If you acquired these cats other than from a breeder or a person who bought from a breeder they are likely to be random bred cats (moggies) that look like purebred cats but are not. Sorry.

  • @broadsurf So, you wont even look at them? What a selfish dick!

  • @analyzingfunny Who is to say these cats did not suffer a tragedy with their owner and HAD to put out for a foreclosure? But now, I hope you suffer a tragedy, and your cats have to put out on the streets, as well as you. Then maybe they would find their way to me. You self centered selfish fucking prick. I wish you the worse.

  • Toyger wins hands down on cuteness, especially when its a kitten an dis like 30cm big :)

  • aww i didnt see the breed i wanted D:

  • Wat about lions and tigers and ligers and tigons

  • @tearzovjoy77 They are not cat breeds.

  • i used to have a tennessee rex he looked like a lion his name was corraine

  • theirs one more york chocolate

  • wait then what breed are tabby cats?

  • @sita4196 Tabby cats are not a breed of cat but a type of cat coat.

  • @broadsurf oh then what type of cats can have tabby coats?

  • @sita4196 Most of the breeds can have tabby coats such as Maine Coon, Norwegian FC, American Shorthair, Brit SH etc.. The Maine Coon looks great in brown tabby and white.

  • @broadsurf ah, thank you

  • my cat has light blue eyes, gray, white, and tan, and he looks simese but i am not sure. he has a temper and constantly bites people. he's a kitten. what breed is he? and why does he bite so much?

  • @MyByakuran If you don't know what breed he is he is probably a random bred cat (not a cat breed). He is biting because he is defensive and frightened. Create a calm environment. Speak quietly. Feed him best wet food. Be gentle with him - handle gently. Visitors should be gentle too. These things should help. He may be unsocialised - not used to people etc. Give it time (be patient) with the correct environment and treatment and he will become less defensive.

  • Where's the Tabby Cat? Or the tuxedo cat?

  • @GoodBoy1196 Tabby and tuxedo are cat coat types not cat breeds.

  • @broadsurf Thanks you, I just learned something new today :)

  • I watched this vid cuz i'm buyin this cat and its sooo useful tnx to you i might be goin for one of these choose the best himalayan or persian or ragdoll but i want to ask a question do i find ragdolls in the middle east plzz reply ...

  • @thisguy983 High, nice to hear from the Middle East. Well you ask a very good question. I expect there are few Ragdoll cats in the Middle East. Some breeders in the USA and elsewhere may ship cats to the Middle East. I am not sure. Cats are generally good air travellers and it is pretty safe. That might be an option that is worth checking out. You get Persians in India occasionally. Sorry I can't help more. Good luck.

  • We should show this to that online dating chick...

  • Love the video !!

    Thanks for posting it :-)

  • @YTfancol Thanks for the comment.

  • 2:46!!! ahhhh blue eyeessss!!!!

  • thank you ! this is good !

  • I had an Egyptian Mau but it hated me :( They are not social cat,so it escaped. :( Should of gotten a munchkin...

  • @Singablesongsable It may have been that your cat was poorly socialised. I don't think the problem was due to the breed of cat but the individual cat and perhaps the environment where she lived. No criticism meant though.

  • A word of advice, a servel CANNOT BE TAMED. It's a wild animal, and doesnt belong in the domestic home

  • @AngelDestler08 I tend to agree with that. They can be domesticated to a certain extent but they do not belong in the home as a pet.

  • Napoleon's are adorable, but I love the irony of it's name... Seeing as Napleon hated cats 83

  • thank you for the useful video + nice music

Egyptian Mau is the best then Traditional Siamese

  • @EgyptianWill The Egyptian Mau and Trad Siamese are both very popular and in the top ten of 100 cat breeds on a long standing poll on my site. The Applehead Siamese is more popular than the Egyptian Mau.

  • @broadsurf

    yes you're right

    i forgot

  • Some of these cats are the same breed...just different places

I want a cat so bad but I'm not allowed to have one until I get my own place :(

I'll take a traditional, lilac color pointed siamese, and two adoptions from cat shelters.

  • Every single last one of them is beautiful.

  • Elf cat was not amuse....lol that was probably the unhappiness looking cat of the whole bunch.

  • is the orange Tabby on here. I have one. LUV HIM

  • i have chartreux like these in video but mine have blue eyes.

  • i want a cat :'(

anyone know where i can get one in london (essex) thanks :)

  • I think the one "American shorthair" (0:23) is called British shorthair, I have two of them at home. ^^

  • I -3 kitehs

  • Somali at 3:57 is very beautiful :)

  • that elf cat is the ugliest - looks like an alien

  • @DrDeathRNMD98 Agreed!

  • @DrDeathRNMD98 it reminds me of the cheshire cat from american mcgee's alice

  • @DrDeathRNMD98

Couldn't agree more . All these artificial "races" are created by humans , who like to make experiments and to mix between mutant races . As a result , we see all these weird-looking cats which probably carry lots of genetical complications and potential to early death . As much as I adore catsin general - those elf-cats look scary !

  • i love maine coon - the most popular :)

  • ...@ 0:39 thats one FUGLY cat looks like a frakkin rat!

  • @SteveSabbai Dwarf cat with no hair!

  • Well, have to apologize, Mom says I was too little back then and you have it right. Same litter, but not what she was trying to breed for.

  • Thanks for a very informative video, passed it on to others.

Regarding the Ocicat, the caption reading "a pleasant accident" is quite inaccurate. When I was young we bought a spotted tiger cat from the lady in Berkley Michigan who developed the Ocicat. No accident at all, she spent years of breeding to get the Ocicat. Sold us ours as she only wanted tawny, the tiger variety was accepted later. Ours was from the same litter as Tonga, the first "true" Ocicat.

  • @SudoNimh It is said that the first creation was an accident although development took years after that.

  • @broadsurf i agree with u

  • I have a traditional Siamese cat he is soooooooo so so so lovable

  • @jarryisawsome101 Good for you. Traditional Siamese are much better and healthier than the skinny, unnatural modern Siamese.

  • @broadsurf Where do you get your facts to back that up? I have all the GCCF stud books going back to the late 1800s and in the early 1900s, there are old photos in them of the first Siamese. They were not traditional looking Siamese. They were long and lean, maybe not to the extreme they are today, but they were definately not a rounded pointed cat.

  • @Atochabsh Please see: "siamese cat history" on my website Pictures of Cats org. No domestic cat can naturally be as unnaturally skinny as the modern Siamese without a healthy dose of selective breeding. The domestic cat originates in the African/European wildcats species of small wild cat that are similar in appearance to today's random bred tabby cats. That is the starting point. Please write an article on my website about this topic. There are forms for visitors.

  • I looked up "traditional persian cat" in Google, and saw a picture of chicken... hm...

  • I haven't heard of a lot of those cats. Are some of them just bred for the hell of it or something? Like the toyger for example, i've never heard of it before and if I wanted to get one would that be realistic or are they way too rare

  • @bobbyman3 All the cat breeds here can be bought from breeders. Just Google the name of the breed and put the word "breeder" after it. Some breeds are rare, yes, and there will be few breeders. And some (a few) are only available in the USA.

  • 2:56 woooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwww what a look!

  • I counted 86..........

  • My personal top-5 :

    1) Neva Masquerade

    2) Sacred Birman

    3) Traditional Siberian

    4) Somali

    5) British Longhair

Shortly - I'm mostly into fluffy ones :-)

  • @NaturalHeaven i had a somali and my mom returned her! i cry every time!!!

  • WOW , I've never heard about some of those breeds - thanks a lot for an interesting information ! But I noticed that Neva Masquerade are missing . Those cats are a colourpoint version of the Siberians .

  • @NaturalHeaven Yes, I didn't specify the pointed Siberian because it is not a separate breed as far as I am aware.

  • CATS ARE JUST GIRL DOGS

  • @JimmyRimsphere no girl dogs are girl dogs. cats are cats.

  • i heard a photographer(of cats)say that in his career he had only seen 1 or 2 'ugly' ones. i'm thinking had to be on off days. all of them are breathtaking works of living art & deserve safe & loving homes. i personally adopt rescues & from shelters, but, to each their own.

  • i heard a photographer(of cats)say that in the thousands & thousands of cats he'd photographed, he'd seen only 1 or 2 ugly ones. i'm thinking he saw those on off days. they are all beautiful breathtaking works of art & all deserve stable loving homes. personally i adopt from shelters or people who have rescued them.

  • Wonderful cats. But what do you think about those millions of cute cats without pedigree that live in our houses and in our streets? Today is the day dedicated to all of them: the pure and the not pure ones. Lovely.

  • @topinetti2002 Those moggies are just as good and sometimes better than the most beautiful purebred cat. I live with two.

  • I'd have them all

  • @openupfresh Paperwork!

  • I wuv cats <:)

  • I LOVE CATS <:)

  • This pictures are beautifully shot! I love the elegance and personality of each one portrayed here! Stunning, thank you for sharing.

  • @broadsurf Oh, I wasn't aware of that, thank you :] Exceptional video

  • Hey, where is the Pallas cat??

  • @Kelebrimbor The Pallas cat is a wildcat species. The video shows domestic cat breeds that are one species of cat: felis catus.

  • i have a traditional persian and i wanted to ask which cat is better traditional persian or persian?

  • @abdul7345 No question about it, the traditional Persian is better because it is prettier and healthier. Of course the appearance is a matter of taste and choice but 75% of visitors to my site prefer the traditional Doll Face Persian cat. if you Google "traditional persian cat" you will several pages from my site (Pictures of Cats.org) on page one about traditional Persian cats.

  • @broadsurf thank u very much

  • @broadsurf : I think you forgot to include the Savannah cat breed. Nonetheless, your video is stupendous! I love it! Nice choice of music.

  • Somali and ragdoll are my two favorite breeds! I'm trying to convince my dad to let me buy a ragdoll kitten... It's going well since they have so many great features, both physically and personality-wise :)

  • All the breeds are beautiful, but my favorites are the Somali and Rag Doll!!! :)

  • I LOOOOOOVE MANY CAT BREEDS!!! If i should pick someone - I couldn't!. But some cat breed missing - And How did the serval became a tame cat ( Sorry if my english is bad :/ )

  • @TheSugarbabe1996 Hi, the serval is not a tame cat but has been domesticated in the USA on numerous occasions. The serval is not that difficult to tame but on my experience this cat retains its wild nature so will be inclined to spray urine etc. And they are large; as large as a large dog.

  • @broadsurf Thanks for your respond

  • Such a wonderful video of beautiful cats. But I think breeding animals went too far...

  • SHOW!!!

  • Tirkish van!! my cat. :)

  • all breeds are beautiful.my cat is a moggy, but still pretty

  • simply loved it

  • @Capcomzero Would you like to enlighten us as to what you mean?

  • I personally like the "Kinkalow" @2:00... about to drop a dwarf sized dump on this terrible video

  • @thc0725 Why is the video terrible? It is meant to simply show 77 cat breeds. It does that. Perhaps you have terrible taste?

  • scottish folds are the best

  • @TheMrBbab Should we breed cats that carry an unnatural genetic mutation that is not useful for them? In fact hearing is reduced by the folded ears.

  • The American Ringtail looks kind of like a Billybumbler from Stephen King's Dark Tower series.

  • But not even a single lolcat?

  • @iiFunKz No, because it is meant to show cat breeds. There are a gazillion LOLcats all over the internet!

  • @iiFunKz There are too many LOLcats not enough real cats!

  • One of the missing breeds is the European Shorthair or did I blink at the wrong moment? That's actually a recognized breed, not a type or malformation. like the Munchkin.

  • @aislingstein Yes, the European SH is not listed. There are over 100 cat breeds but some are very much on the fringes. The 77 here are nearly all mainstream. The CFA only accept 40+

  • @aislingstein Yes there is no European Shorthair in the video. I plan to do a short supplemental video with some other breeds. Good pictures of the more rare breeds are hard to come by, though.

  • I had a cornish rex, very smart cats

  • Actually, this music is NOT by me.

  • @kmacleodmusic Hi Kevin, I am dealing with this. Sorry. As I said in an email. i was certain that it came from your website. Clearly I was wrong.

  • thank you very much for the effort! nice photography here.

  • Is the missing one Chinchilla?

  • @kimreader No Chinchilla is not a cat breed but a coat type. The Savannah is the missing breed.

  • I did not see European Shorthair OR Savannah!

The photos are all gorgeous though. I was not aware a longhaired version of my favourite breed, my beloved British Shorthair, existed! :3

  • I want them all!!!

  • Scottish Fold?

  • @teemell19 Scottish Fold is listed in the video.

  • @teemell19 It's in the video:)

  • Comment removed

  • Europian shorthair I didn't see

  • @Demonfire1WoW1 Not in video, you are correct, but it is not a mainstream cat breed.

  • I wonder how many of these 60,000 views were crazy old cat ladies and how many were silly college hipsters here for the lolz.

I can't see any other demographics being into this.

  • @deb7ennis The video viewing demographics for this channel is more or less equally split between men and women. Middle aged people predominate (around 40+ years of age). Hope that helps. Most of them are good, intelligent people and by no means crazy! A study concluded that intelligent people were more inclined to keep cats....think about it.

  • @deb7ennis Hi, there is an even split between men and women. Women who like and care for cats are not crazy - just kind.

  • did ferretocious guess the ocelot? (wild tame cat)

  • KITTIES!!!

  • No Savannah cat? or Siamese?

  • @emilygclarinet Yes, no Savannah but there are Siamese (2) in the video!

  • My cat is a siamese mix and we could not figure out what else she was, after watching this and doing some research, i'm positive that she's half german rex. thank you!

  • Scottish Fold?

  • Touche, Sir Broadsurf

  • What the heck does 'beautiful working cat' mean? Does the cat pull carts to help plow a field? I am being serious, someone explain this to me.

  • @briangavemeherpes I'm guessing it means a good mouser, keep the rodents out of the barn and such.

  • @lovablewarrior818 thank you, my barn cats a good mousers, I just took it for second nature for all cats

  • @briangavemeherpes It probably means that it's good at hunting mice.

  • Comment removed

  • @briangavemeherpes My impression of that was that the breed is an effective hunter. That is was used and bred to keep the area free of rodents. Dunno if thats right.

  • @cdraider That seems to be the answer other folks were giving. Thank you. My cats are natural mousers, I just didnt equate that with a special skill and I guess it is.

  • @briangavemeherpes ANSWER: The American Shorthair cat goes back to the time (1600s) when they were mousers. That was their work. They were useful to the person who kept them. In fact at one time that was more or less the only reason why people kept cats, All original domestic cats were "working cats" I hope that answers your question.

  • @broadsurf Yes, that;s the general consensus of what everyone's response has been. Thanks.

  • @briangavemeherpes The American Shorthair was a mouser in the 1600s. It has been developed into the cat breed we see today. Originally it was kept as a cat that kept down rodents - a working cat.

  • @briangavemeherpes kills mice, rats and pests

  • @briangavemeherpes It's called that way because it's a very common cat bred.. :P

  • Isn't the cat you named as siamese at 3:44 a birman actually? That dark face and blue eyes can't deceive me..

  • @MewMewRishu Nope...its a Birman.

  • sorry if this has been asked before but what is the piece of music used in the background? It is beautiful and calming.

  • I think some of your information is a little off. One definate one is the one you have labeled the Siamese, the one that has the points BUT has teh white mark on its nose. that is what is known as a Snowshoe. It also has white socks, chest and belly. Siamese have points and no white that is a disqualification.

  • I'm so missing the Iriomote :((

  • @theKRYZ The Iriomote is a wild cat that is a subspecies of the Asian leopard cat. It lives on a small island and has a precariously low population.

  • @theKRYZ This is a wildcat not a cat breed.
