sounds has variations. unless you know what sound you wanna make, you would probably often "use your fingers!!" there are magics that can only be done by picks. and vice versa. you cannot do a n alternate picking on a finger (Thats alt fingering, otherwise). seriously, there are sounds that only a pick can do. and there are sounds that only a finger can do. no disrespect or anything. but i think its much better if you would suggest which one sounds much better on 1 song

crank your tone knob down about half of what u had it will sound better dont stop the stings between your notes sounds choppy

that was great, but if you want to come closer to how the origonal song is played you should put more swing in to it, and play it slower, for more definition, but its spoused to sound jazzy, and swingy

You make many mistakes. Check the notes again and try to play it with fingers. This song sound bad with pleck. Yes train it and you will become better. ;)

Well you don't have to use your fingers at all. A pic is just fine. of course using fingers gives more of a rounded sound. But it all depends on personal choice. Keep practicing man! your doing great :)
