  • that's how dragonfoce makes their solos

  • @xXMeTalZXx is it? I bet not.. haha

  • @angelite143 maybe... it is the cheat of dragonforce especially in recording

  • waw

  • DAMN, I'm going to buy one tomorrow RIGHT after school... I'm amazed :D

  • "Gary attended Berklee College of Music"

Ummmm....I've attended a lot of things - not sure if that makes me an "expert" on any of them!

  • Oh my God, It's very impresive how nowadays you can create new types of effects to make playin' guitar easier and even cheat, boohh!!

  • im sorry but he said "its a good way to cheat and fool your audience" thats great for beginners teach em they dont need to play properly they can just cheat

  • @EmoGuitarSceneKidxP

He's joking. Honestly, don't come into a great teacher's videos and start talking out of your ass like you know anything. Go cut yourself, or whatever you emo kids do.

  • 2:45 isnt it the same if you just start fast picking and just pick the random notes? :P

Anyway vid is very helpful ^^

  • I don't know how he gets that amp to sound so good. Mine never sounds that good. But I also dont use it anymore now that I have a 655+

  • Do you have Yngwie Malmsteen pedal ? lol

  • Nicely done dude

  • man i haven't subscribed in a while.. how do i do it !? xD

  • 2:58. sound like a fuckin' video game. LOL

  • 2:17 <3 Tom Morello FTW!

  • At 2:40! he does that really fast picking lick - how cool is that?

  • @jimzzy49 hes not picking that fast.......your hearing the delay

  • @bosico45 YES I Know that!! Alright!!

  • How smart is that, just using the pre-delay effects to sound really 'FAST' when your doing the double picking, that Gary does on here to FOOL your audience! Like a genius WIZ

  • isnt that cheating, the duble pick thing -_-

  • Don't know if anyone can help me but I'm looking for some effects that sound like really old school hip hop sounds, like the 80s and really early 90s hip hop stuff, like public enemy etc, like the really high pitch trippy sounds you used to get, I don't really know how else to describe it to be honest :P really I'm trying to go for a old school nu metal sound with my band but really take the genre back to its roots so I don't know if anyone can help but do you know of any pedal or anything? thks

  • awesome!!!! i want one!

  • great man thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks a lot

  • trying to figure out what pedals to start off with. any suggestions? The type of music I like to play is pretty much just rock. what types of pedals should I start off with?

  • @EagleofTorment distortion pedal,delay pedal,wah pedal

  • 2:54 sounds like really old game music... I WANRT THIS PEDAL!

  • Who cares about cheating anyway, its about delivering good music. Using synthesizers isnt cheating, why would a pedal be?

  • @xxCAGExx you've ruined my idol, thank you ;)

  • what the name of the white double padel? which you use often

  • @pipiotto1 That would be a delay pedal from Boss

  • This guy sounds exactly like Steve Buscemi

  • That sounds sick.

  • 2:28 Eddieee van haleeennn

  • bop bop lol

  • @xxCAGExx haha thats the first thing i thought when he started playing that...FOT still awesome tho

  • Yeah thats a cool way to fool your audience but, is it not better though to just be better.I will say that effect is cool just dont use it to try to hide the fact you are not really that good.Just get good. That way you dont have to hide the fact. You will be good.then use the effect to color your sound and entertain the adoring fans. Thanks for listening friends.

  • awesome vid!

  • This is the only guy that doesn't completely suck from expert village

  • this the only expert village video that dosen't suck ballz

  • why does he have a dd20 and dd7 pedal on his board??

  • @Fileno93 pre deley and after deley

  • @Fileno93 one will be for one type of delay, and the other will be for some other different application of delay.

  • "...it sounds like i am a really good picker.. and i'm actually not" *SHREDS LIKE HELL* lol

  • @bt00r shreds? pfft

  • @bt00r its called effects, thats what he was saying?

  • Comment removed

  • @bt00r He shreds like hell because of his delay! idiot :)

  • hi i'm herman ri

  • Know somebody the song name at 2:20 Please tell me

  • @bodor920810 It's probably Cathedral by Van Halen

  • @xxCAGExx that's exactly what it is! though, i applaud him for its use

  • What is that pedal called?

  • @shadowmind23 Distortion pedal

  • now thats given me some ideas ...nice teachin bud

  • @greatdrums

no screw practicing cheating forever wins

  • @pancake9563 this was probably the greates comment I have ever seen

  • @xxCAGExx you didnt know that?

  • David Gilmour....

  • @greatdrums well it never sounds the same, the way hes saying to "cheat" gives a totally different sound to someone who is shredding. so its handy to know to be able to throw in a totally different effect

  • this is stupid i have the DD20 pedal that theyre using right there and this video is teaching nothing about it...

  • @nonesta13 hes not teaching you about the pedal, hes teaching you different ways to use the "delay" effect.

  • hahaha!!!! nice man.... I also not a quick picker but will definetely try your tips... nice videos, thanks a lot

  • @xxCAGExx dude, thomas erak does not have delay on all the time. yes, he uses doted 8th note delay to his advantage at times, but most of the time he is just picking fast as hell

  • volume swells rule !!! lol

  • For everyone arguing about tone, look up a Paul Gilbert tutorial video. Usually he has HORRIBLE tone because he sets his treble really high, but what he PLAYS sounds amazing. Think of hearing a symphony through a bad stereo, that's how your amp will affect you. Better amp = better sound. If you have a million dollar amp and you cant play shit, you still sound like shit...

  • i wish i had pre-delay

  • Dragonforce is lying!

  • What kind of pedal (model wise) is that?

  • Very good video, thanx for the tips!

  • geez volume swells sound great.

  • @tangypasta well what guitar has real good sustain casue thats what i need - my current guitar son't hold notes long enough, maybe like 3 seconds max on my high e with clean sound

  • @thomascatlett555 les pauls are renowned for their sustain, if u dont mind their weight and somewhat difficult upper fret access. However my advice would be to go to a guitar shop and try out some guitars there. things to consider are the sound, how comfortable it is and how it looks.

  • The last setting and demo was a great flash!

This guy has amazing effects and instruments.

  • cheater lol

  • A lot of tone clearly is 'in the fingers'. It's not going to make one amp sound like another. But it will vastly change the way the guitar sounds. Do you pick flat or parallel to the strings, do you rotate the pick so it scraps instead of hits, do you hold it tight, or let it flap against the strings. Do you use the pointy end of the pick or the side. Do you pick closer to the neck or bridge. A great guitarist will be constantly changing all these things as he plays.

  • you spelled David Gilmour wrong

  • you rock

  • cheat the audience! cheat the audience!

  • @CHICKMAGNET66666 good player+bad guitar+bad amp=no one can tell the difference

  • @CHICKMAGNET66666 what if theres 2 ppl that are equally as good and one has a way better guitar and amp ... and also if the action is lower u can play alot smoother legato no matter how good u think u are with a shitty guitar.

  • @SirFightsalot true true it does matter what gear and amp you have but also most of the techniuqe is in your fingers

  • Like dragonforce.. Naa i kid the dragonforce they are a realy cool band

  • how to look pro without being pro...

  • @sok213 he's just showing if you have a delay and distortion pedal, put the delay first. it will sound louder and cleaner if you do.

  • does anyone know what the best pedal for a crunch sound is?

  • nice tone.

    NOT.

  • wow this is kickass

  • is there a setting for tap delay on Boss ME 30?? It's really great!

  • @beantongue01307 Yeah, as much as Herman and Mr. Tots have finger speed, ask them to take off all the effects and see how clean it is, to me, they cant play for crap, if they didnt have all those effects, they'd be nothing.

  • @xXxJarrydxXx hey, cheating is part of the music industry. ;)

I'm all with you though bud

  • @mainecolbs Correct you are buddy. ;)

  • whahah i wanna have a deley pedalllll

  • it sounds like iron maidens moonchild!!! now i knpw how they do it

  • hehehe yess cheating :P but its awesome

  • Nice, that volume swell part sounds just like Cathedral by Van Halen.

  • :0 thats awesome !!

  • lol cheating :P

  • its true

  • if you have only 2 pedals and you want to connect them closely, do u use a special (smaller) lead to connect them?

  • its not special, its just a smaller lead

  • does anyone know how i can get my delay to stay at a same volume instead of getting quieter and quieter?

  • @Caleeboy123 . If it has a "repeats" knob turn it all the way up

  • new guitar

good guitar+ bad amp = good sound

bad guitar + good amp = bad sound

good guitar + good amp = very good sound

  • Yeah I guess you're right. I guess I could just get a new amp and hope for the best. Any improvements on what I got at the moment would be amazing, cos my amp has no "tone" - It's just loud and distorted - No tone :(

  • Absolutely not.

Amps are the biggest part or someone's tone along with the type of pickups the guitar has (humbuckers/singlecoils). Play a Squier through a Diezel Herbert and it'll sound better than a PRS Santana through a Behringer solid state amp.

  • very true

    i stand corrected

  • I would get a new amp. try playing with the tone of your guitar. It might just be its tone.
