I grew up directly across the street on Beach 97th. My grandmother owned a boarding house named the Hotel Charles. I go there now and it's so so sad to know how it used to be
@southy98 That was real sad to see them tear down Rockaway's Playland. I even heard that Martin's Corner still existed somewhat but turned into a thrift shop or something down on B 99th street I think? There's like no memories of what was once there except for Bogianno's if it's still there. But I know one place that's not going anywhere and that's the old Irish Circle,ha,ha!
I never been in there but I heard that they renovated the place.
@RJBbass2000 Bogianno's is gone, so is Curly's, and numerous other shops that use to be there. Beside the Irish Circle, there is nothing that could link that place to the past.
The reference to Bush near the end of the clip is in extremely inopportune, and demolishes the heartfelt melancholy of the photos.

I live right next to the old site of playland, which has now been converted into an apartment complex.
