Brought back memories!!!! where do you guys keep this videos!!! I remember putting pause on commercials when i would record my favorite shows on my beta and vhs tapes!!!!!
Love the Levi's. I remember wearing them out with a rasor blade in my stonewash jeans with a tight roll. Then rocking them with my pink glittery LA Gears. LOL...OMW those were the days!
Last post: I don't really see environmental friendly PSAs yet in the 1980's, which was an obsessive hysteria in the following decade. I kinda miss the '80s though I won't wanna dwell in that decade, many people in the 80s wished to travel back the the 1950s/60s...or how the "be serious" 90s kids missed out on the "easy-goin" 70s. I wonder in the year 2029 we will moan or gripe about 2009 was a good ol' time, and some of us may have kids will discuss the "cool" toons we got on Jetix or KidsCW. +
Ok the last post was over the line, but we have parents being "baby boomers" who may not be "hard" on us gen X/Y-ers and they preach "P-C hippy/Born-again GOP" sociopolitical morality, except we grow up ditching class, joining youth gangs, refuse to do our chores & most of all, shout "NO!" at our parents when they ask to clean our rooms. But hey, we at least said "NO" to drugs, except in high school we secretly smoke weed or have abstinence taught in sex. ed. since condoms arent enough. +
The toothpaste made for kids didn't have a warning : "Not to be eaten" and the mouthwash I drank was like a beer! No wonder every saturday morning I ended up with a headache & stomach ache, plus the effect of ethyl alcohol. Hey, it had a mint taste & a fun cartoon character on it! Aquafresh was like frosting. xD
My mom can recall the 1960's when cigarette ads were common and she became a smoker at age 13 (this was 1964), the Flintstones smoked Philip & Morris, and Kool the penguin.+
With all due respect, I believe the Flintstones actually smoked Winston brand cigarettes, since they were actual sponsors of the show, up until Wilma's pregnancy.
Back in the 80s, saturday morning toons were "kid friendly' by not saying "hell" or "damn"...and when Bobby's World starring Howie Mandel as little Bobby found out his mom is pregnant, some of those religious moralist parents aren't pleased about the adult subject matter on "mommies having babies from their tummies or butts" as kids said in the playground to gain attention by peers.
Oh yea, in the '60s you probably had kid-friendly beer commercials: Budweiser, its just like Cereal kool-aid. +
"Tic-tac-toes" made a good quick lunch huh? Today, the fear of childhood obesity made most of these commercials taboo to put on saturday morning TV (quick, get the P-C chip!)
Levi's jeans 1988, the trends & styles are right here on youtube. Take a trip back in time & you won't be having a computer, but lucky to have cable!
I remember those toons like "Little clowns" (I thought the hiccup clown was a laugh riot) and "Flintstone kids" (not the vitamins: a million strong...and growing") +
or was it "Jew, Jew, Jew, Jew have long nose"? LoL, back in the time some of our saturday morning toons still feature very racially-charged stereotypes. Anyone knew about Fat Albert in the black ghetto, the Asiatic Siamese cats on Chip & Dale rescue Rangers, and Hispanic parents demanded a character of Latino heritage: Dora the Explorer arrived a decade later. Most of the girl characters were feminine, not working out the home & had "only played with dolls", nowadays it's just plain wrong. +
Canned pasta was the s**t back in the day. I remember when my brother and I were at home by ourselves during summer vacations, my mom would leave us cans of Chef Boyardee Ravioli to have for lunch.
I really hope that toothpaste wasn't fruit flavoured. Fruit flavoured toothpaste revolts me, I'm sorry. I used to like it, but the thought of it now makes me sick.
Yes, I never understood why they were so popular back then. My sister loved them. LOL! I imagine today's fashions will seem very dated 20 years from now as well.
It was just a ploy to get you to buy the product. Hell, I practically "won" everytime I got a spoonful of the stuff. I averaged about 10 X's and O's everytime until the last bit of it was taken from the bowl.
I know now. What do u win just for dipping your spoon in pasta? That's like if I dipped a spoon in a bowl of Raisin Bran, and I got all raisins or no raisins--just the bran flakes. I wouldn't win anything!
No, it's nowhere near sad to remember these great commercials at all, you damn idiot. So take back what you said and make another comment saying that there's nothing wrong with remembering these excellent commercials.
Wow, I remember all of those commercials so well, well not the Levi's one. But the other ones, it's like it was yesterday!! Guess I watched too much Saturday Morning cartoons!!
