My Soloflex is the best investment money can buy. Not only you can do over 65 different exercises on it, but besides using the rubber straps, you can use freeweights and resistance bands with it as well. And if you purchase other itmes on ebay, you can do sitting calf raise, back rows, butterflyes, and much more. I love this machine. A very simple unit can do a lot of wonders. Peace.
They played it on the kiddie channel to make sure you remember the machine when you grow up and possibly become a customer. 20 years later, you still remember. It worked.
I have both the Bowflex, and the Soloflex. I ordered a new Bowflex to replace my old Bowflex Power Pro, but was told that delivery would be several weeks. I sold my old Bowflex too soon, before my new one arrived. On a whim, I decided to try and buy and old Soloflex, because I had heard good things about it. I'm also 45 years old, and I remember the commercials well. I'm a Police Officer, so I try to stay strong, Having said all that, the SoloFlex is a FAR better unit. Better built, better unit.
I purchased a Soloflex and I got fatter. I lost weight by buying an X Box, however, my wife left me because I didn't have time for her. Now, I am looking for a girl that likes to play games on my X Box with me. Thank-you. ;-)
I just purchased a Soloflex in mint condition to replace a Weider home gym that I was using. I totally love it. It really works as well as was demonstrated in the commercials on tv.
That commercial, along with other Soloflex commercials, plays like a Shakespearean masterpiece compared to the modern exercise equipment infomercials on TV today.
soloflex changed home gyms forever. before soloflex you only had 2 choices. fill your house up with free weights, or get a huge clunky cable machine. soloflex was the first of its kind to offer a buttload of different exercises in a small well built machine.
I remember coming home from work on saturdays, and turning on the TV in the late 80s, there was soloflex infomercials on back to back all day. Soloflex, and the Nordictrack machines were the hottest fitness craze on the market. I ended up buying both of them. both were dam good products. I kick myself for selling my soloflex. Now Im trying to find one on craigslist, and Ebay.
Same here, I loved watching the infomercials sometimes waiting late at night. I remember when the Nordic Flex Gold came out, their infomercials were geared toward knocking Soloflex down. That machine was terrible, not only was the design a knock off, but their isokinetic technology was ridiculous. All effort on the power stroke and no resistance on the return.
Good luck on Soloflex hunting. I know at least 3 ads selling it on craiglist in my city.
I had a nordic flex gold, what a big heaping , steaming pile of shit that machine was......at $1,500. yes they did compare it to solofex, saying it was superior. I got rid of that thing in just a few weeks. I will find a Soloflex somewhere. take care dude!!
I foolishly sold this to my brother 5 years ago for $500 and I bought a Gold's Gym Power Flex. DUMBASS!!! But, my brother happily agreed to trade me the Soloflex and $200 for the Powerflex. HAAAAA!!! I went into some debt, but HE still thinks that he got the better end of the deal. Guess which machine collects dust til this day? I would pay triple what any of these machines cost today, for a Soloflex that's 30 years old, lying around in some dusty old abandoned warehouse. And I'd love it.
That pretty much nails it right on the head. I have tried many different exercise equipment configurations, and I always come back to the Soloflex. The only thing that is legitimately better is a power rack setup with a cable system, and that takes up much more room. I turned a pair of them into a very compact power rack to get the best of all worlds.
I remember this commercial! I love how they integrated the animation showing a man getting into supreme shape with his rugged Soloflex. Man and machine working together for strength and power, then transition into the real world showing the elegance of this simple machine. Awesome!
I picked up a lightly used Soloflex a year and a half ago for next to nothing. This thing is quality throughout and is truly a piece of art. Sad to here they aren't manufacturing it any long, parts are available but no complete units.
Hi, does anyone have the one they showed I think around 1987 with the kid trying to show his muscles in front of the mirror then kind of giving up. Then they show the rest of the 30 minutes where they show a guy and girl performing the exercises? They also showed one with Frank Zane.
I like the music in this commercial. I've heard it used in a late-'80s Soloflex commercial I saw. :-)

Hi, Why did they stop selling the Soloflex?
Also, thanks for the person who gave me the link where they show that commercial of the kid in the Soloflex infomercial.
I appreciate that.
Thanks.

Well said! Plus, in my honest opinion, even til this day I still can't find a better built, more efficient workout machine than the Soloflex.
