@flyingscience God has never 'make a mistake'. People from the time of Adam have made mistakes, but not God. And the Bible does not contain a single error of any kind anywhere within its content. If the History channel says it's so then it's fact! :-) Books of the Bible were mostly hand delivered, some sealed by Kings, some distributed hand to hand by authors and witnesses. Regardless of how the Holy Spirit chose to distribute and present the assembly of books, what's important is that we have the complete Holy Spirit inspired Word of God.

I am a social worker, who works with an array of human right causes. I work with the lowest of society, people "good Christian folks" turn away. I'm a pansexual. It took me a while to figure out what I was because I didn't quite know what I was supposed to be. Inside I didn't feel like male or female was quite right, but somewhere not inbetween but outside. I've been attracted to all genders since I was a kid. Leviticus is in the dispensation of law. We are now under the dispensation of grace. Leviticus, Exodus, Genesis, Deut, and Numbers were all written under another dispensation. You can't try to force one dispensation into another.

There are over three hundred prophecies concerning Jesus Christ in the Old Testament. Not only was it foretold where He would be born and His lineage, but also how He would die and that He would rise again. It was suggested that Leviticus was forged to look old and that it contained all the reforms that the temple "priest" had just failed to make on his own merits . Can anyone comment on this? There was a capital punishment penalty for a person convicted of being a false prophet which adds even more validity to the Bible and its accuracy. If the History channel says it's so then it's fact! :-) Books of the Bible were mostly hand delivered, some sealed by Kings, some distributed hand to hand by authors and witnesses. Regardless of how the Holy Spirit chose to distribute and present the assembly of books, what's important is that we have the complete Holy Spirit inspired Word of God.

I am a social worker, who works with an array of human right causes. I work with the lowest of society, people "good Christian folks" turn away. I believe in equality for all and simply agree to disagree. I don't think laws should be passed that will oppress people or take rights away. I believe in a loving creator who forgives. I believe the world can be changed with love NOT hate. And what I know of Christ, I think him and I would get along just fine.

Well lucky I live in Canada, a country that respects the rights of its people. We legalized same sex marriage in 2005, it took the U.S.A till 2003 just to drop your sodomy laws, laws we dropped back in 1969. You thought process is the one that is falling behind progress. I'm a pansexual. It took me a while to figure out what I was because I didn't quite know what I was supposed to be. Inside I didn't feel like male or female was quite right, but somewhere not inbetween but outside. I've been attracted to all genders since I was a kid. I only made a conscious rediscovery in my 30's. The people who claim that diverse sexuality is sinful because they read it, well they need to read the rest of the chapter instead of picking up that one point. Leviticus, was it?

Carter, I don't believe anyone wants to or intends to redefine marriage. Marriage has however historically redefined itself. Marriage should be between two consenting adults of sound mind. Not strictly between a man and multipble wives (Biblical days), not strictly between a man and "property", not strictly between a white man and white woman (60's), nor animals, siblings, children or any ridiculous variation (as all have very good reason), rather between two consenting adults of sound mind.

@nym685 I didn't mention rapists. However, I'm pretty sure there are some that would. Not the majority but some. I heard yesterday that Sweden is considering doing away with the laws against incest. On the ploitical forum I'm a member of I was disappointed to see several (not all) of the resident left leaning folks back up my point here.

So why can't two consenting adult siblings 'marry' each other? Or what is wrong with them being together regardless of marraige? How do you know the animals don't consent? There are already weirdos out there that want to marry their pets and they use some of the same arguments as the HS rights groups do.

I just think about the murderers and psychopaths that came from heterosexual households..and I can point out normal people that came from homosexual households..there is no conclusive evidence that can be derived from the sex of the parents, but i think it is much more dependent on the parenting itself.

EmilyRose32100, you may also know a Christian who commits a sin, adultery for instance. But that does not make adultery right. They are still wrong regardless. If you are struggling with homosexuality, then there is deliverance through the Blood of Jesus available to you as a Christian. But regardless, please dont consider what God says is sin as being OK. It is not and never will be since God never changes.

It would be terribly unfair of God to demand that someone not do something that was impossible for them to do. In other words, He would not create a person to be homosexual and then demand that they not be. That would be absurd.

EmilyRose32100, usually one who has been a Christian for awhile develops such a love for God that they forfeit their own desires in order to please Him. And so if God says that something is wrong (and especially an abomination to Him) then we as Christians should not only obey, but should respect what God thinks and desires and not what we happen to "think". It's not what those Christians you mentioned think. It's what God thinks that matters.

kids are too young to introduce this type of education. The brain is not even done developing until the age of about 25. If the government is doing this - when I have a child or IF I have a child - I will NOT allow my child to go to a public school. I went to a public school my entire school years from K-12. I graduated high school in 1993. I guess times have changed. No one is going to teach my children but me.
I'm a Chrisitan, I got saved at age 16 in '91.

The behavior of the right-wing Christians simply shows they don't understand the basic teachings of Jesus. They apparently were more interested in reading the rules in Leviticus, saying who to hate and who to stone, than in reading the Sermon on the Mount or Jesus's revelation that the "New Commandment" is to love other people, recognizing them as other manifestations of your own self.

Leviticus is in the dispensation of law. We are now under the dispensation of grace. Leviticus, Exodus, Genesis, Deut, and Numbers were all written under another dispensation. You can't try to force one dispensation into another.

Nothing whatsoever has ever been 'thrown out' of the Bible as you claim. The Lord God by His own admission, never changes. The ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus presented a New Covenant unto the world. Jesus, for instance, took the penalties imposed by God upon Himself on the cross, but that did not change what was and still is sin. I realize you wish to justify your sin, however, God's Word is still the same yesterday, today and forever.

Sin and disobience have nothing to do with minority concerns or equal rights. It's exactly the same as giving equal rights to bank robbers, for instance. Should be allow them to continue in their sin because they are a minority? Should child molesters have equal rights? Lying under oath? Adultery? When someone chooses to sin it is just that: a God given free will choice.

Yes, in regard to what was stated, that they are all sins. Sin is sin. Homosexuality is a sin. Theft is a sin. Adultery is a sin, and so on. It has nothing whatsoever to do with 'civil rights' unless you believe that bank robbers deserve 'civil rights' to perform their activities also.

A research lab recently claimed to have found a genetic link to homosexuality. Yet later the results of an intensive study by the University of Western Ontario found that this was in error. The fact is that after all the attempts to show a genetic cause for homosexuality, no such genetic cause has been proven. Later a British psychologist had success in providing 'reorientation' therapy to homosexuals who wanted to change and it worked. Homosexuality is a choice, not genetic.

Wrong again. The original research (Dean Hamers team) DID find a genetic link on xq28 and replicated the study. However, sample was not population representative. The Ontario team could not replicate but sampling & methodology was different. Xq28 is implicated but is probably not the only gene involved in sexuality. Other evidence implicates pre-natal hormonal environment.

Lastly, look at APA most recent and most comprehensive studyof 'change# evidence. I won't even quote the embarassing statements made about the research methodologies of NARTH etc. Masters & Johnson data was most likely faked. Spitzers study was heavily, over-whelmingly sampling biased and still found a tiny % self-declaring change. I find it difficult to disguise contempt at the effort u put in to being anti-gay. My presence in the world does not affect you or your so-called christians churches.

Yes absolute harmony and truth. You need to understand that these accounts were written by two individuals with two perspectives at the same event. For instance if you and I went to an event and wrote a 5 page account of the same event, your account would contain more information about what was more important for you to include and then I would add what was important for me during the same event. I think your point is that they are not identical accounts of the same event?

The Bible speaks of you: "The fool says 'There is no God." This does not mean that you are stupid or lacking intelligence. The Hebrew word translated "fool" is nabal which refers more to a "moral fool" or someone without morals. The meaning of the text is not "unintelligent people do not believe in God" but rather, "immoral people do not believe in God."

My thing is this; even if you read stories of gays to children, it won't "make" them gay. We read them stories of straight people ALL the time, and have they all grown up straight? If there are any hate-crimes, its forbidding people to get married to the ones they love, or to tell people that they are evil or unnatural. That's not Christian at all-I am Christian, and I know that God would not want us spreading lies and propaganda. It goes against the commandments to LOVE and not commit slander!

As a Christian, you no doubt have the inner desire given you by the Holy Spirit to do the will of God and follow His Word. Please remember, He is the one Who said that homosexuality is an "abomination" to Him. Are you aware of this? So you probably also know that God also considers marriage a very sacred joining. If He is insulted by homosexuality, can you understand why He would also oppose the blasphemy of marriage between two people of the same sex?
