i had a real bad accident on my motorcycle a while ago at a very high speed, the first to hit the ground was my head, i was wearing this same exact helmet and it did just perfect, it literally saved my life, i have been using hjc's ever since, why pay 600 to 800 for a shoei or an arai or suomy.
We've always liked the CL-series, it's one of the best helmet bargains out there, a time-tested helmet at a reasonable price. The latest version, the CL-16, is both DOT and Snell 2010 approved.
Glad I could help, some of the newer helmets have much better removal systems. You'd think they would find the best system that works and then copy it, but I guess every manufacturer wants to be different...
but on the right side of my helmet.... that little grey tab connection to the black triangular prism just before the spring will not stay open. This means the black circle where the faceshield clips in will not get close enough to the black L where the little clear rod from the faceshield clips in.... :( :(
please help me fix this.... I got this helmet 4 free... & I think it is broken, but It's only the faceshield and i don't want to buy another helmet 4 passangers
nvm I fixed it... the grey notch that holds the black thing open & close to the black L was really worn. I just held it with my fingers. It's a lot harder this way, but w\e the faceshield isn't as important as the foam compression anyways
Am I the only idiot in the world who cannot do this? What tab? there are a few. And where does it go? It likes like it would fit in 3 different holes

The only thing I can suggest is contacing HJC, perhaps they can send you a new side plate or will fix the helmet for free.

Wow - you make it look easy!
I've broken 2 hinges (always the left - what the heck!).
Now I'm skittish that I'll do it again!
Nice job!
