I love Lisette Melendez. She was one of the few female singers who could not only sing but dance also. One of my favorite dance songs ever. Yeah, what did happen to the music of yester year??? I miss it:-(
this music was MY LIFE back when i was growing up in brooklyn...im still happy that freestyle free-for-all on ktu on sunday nights is still around..n she was allways 1 of the most bonita artests n she still is today great song!!
All I can say is Power 96! She performed at ny friends club back in the day and there were so many hot women there. Clubs nowadays suck and so does most of the songwriting/music.
For all that you dont know after her freestyle carrer she moved to Salsa.. releasing a CD.. yup most freestylers moved to salsa.. India, George Lamond, even Safire
One of my FAVORITE dance tunes of all time! I was fill-in dee-jay at a dance that had a jazz band. This was the song I opened my set with, and a scream went up and the floor was full in a second!!! Good times!
how come she didnt make it big? i still listen to her, true to life cd and is enchanting, did she get ripdoff like other artist by theyr managers and record labels?
Freestyle stills with cult followings and every once in a while you can hear freestyle in a new mainstream track disguised as pop,R&B or dance hiphop.
lol true we can't deny that, just trying to keep up with the looks and style to be cool :), it never changes,i tell my teenagers you just wait 20 years from now your kids will be laughing at the styles they wore lol
This Music Ruled in the 80's. I wish all those singers would come back,,I think They all mostly retired or strictly produce and own their own record labels.
Damn, what a great Hi-NRG beat and a killer freestyle dance tune this is. Whenever this came on the radio, I just had to crank it up. This was "the sound" of a lot of tunes in '91. Corina "Temptation" comes to mind and has a similar background as well. Great stuff, thanks for the memories!!!
Though I live in the US, I was born and raised in Brazil and grew up on freestyle. It just ruled!! This has got to be one of top 10 freestyle tracks ever !!! Damn days will never be the same again !! I'm 30 now and still enjoy it just as much as before !! Dancing to it was just surreal at the clubs / parties.
Oh 1992, I came to the US from Colombia in 1990 and the first time I heard freestyle I fell in love with it and I'm still listen to it. FREESTYLE FOREVER.
back in the 80s i didn`t listen to freestyle music too much, now i listen to it all the time.I`m starting to buy alot of cds!I woke up about a month ago.The only thing is my wife and kids hate it,oh well.
i remember having my mother and my older cousins always listening 2 this song and other songs like diamond girl these songs blow my mind... i love them!!!
I have this single. I was a teenager during the freestyle music days, late 80s/early 90s. This song and so many from that time brings back tons of memories. I miss those days.

For me,
this song, along with SaFire's Boy, I've Been Told is one of the highest points in freestyle.
( & I like to include "A E I O U" by Freeez in that category, though they are more of a precursor to what some used to call "latin hip-hop".
Also, there was a song by George LeMans, who's title currently escapes me.)
