  • esta muy bien bravo megusta

    wonderful.......its my song

  • great song cept hes basically just airguitaring it im not saying that hes not able to play it but when your watching some dude sit on a rock with a guitar and you hear everything but hes guitar makes me think he just wanted to b in a music vid lol

  • this is cut

  • always reminds me my stay in Ireland, great country!!! great Guiness and Tullamore :D

  • I like....

  • really good job!

  • Do you mind if I ask what instrument that is you're playing - it doesn't look like a regular guitar.

  • @17Hongo it looks like a mandolin especially since it has eight nobs where as standard guitars with the exception of bass have six nobs

  • @joethehunter Except that it's big, like a guitar, so that, coupled with the 8 tuning keys suggests that it might be a mandola, Bouzouki or Cittern.

  • Love this

  • Brilliant granda!! Love you Jody-lee...xoxoxoxox

  • Well, I took a stroll on the old long walk

    Of a day -i-ay-i-ay

I met a little girl and we stopped to talk

Of a fine soft day -i-ay-i-ay

And I ask you, friend, what’s a fella to do

’cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue

And I knew right then I’d be takin’ a whirl

’round the salthill prom with a galway girl

  • beautiful

  • I would highly suggest never to play this in Ireland... Wouldn't go down well...

  • @missmuffins252 why not?

  • @devendrabanhart25 The song is grand but he just sounds too american :P He'd be fine anywhere else but its just the accent.

  • @missmuffins252 Hmmm maybe he has irish perents, Shane Magowan has an English accent, was born in England and seems to go down well in Ireland!

  • i hope thats not your real job

    give it up man

  • Love the song!

  • they also played 'rockin' all over the world' :D I was there! COME ON IRELAND!!!

  • When I was on the bus from Derry to Galway when I met a beatiful redhead- frizzy red hair, sexy legs and a nice tushy. I talked to her a little and asked to sit next to her, and then... peeyew!!! She smelled like BO- like homeless people, except without the sench of alchohol. Guess who I think of when I hear Galway Girl? It doesn't matter that she was Italian, I will forever think of her when I hear this song.

  • @lsnows lawl. thats terrible.

  • @lsnows haha bummer dude

  • nice job =)

  • Thats awesome man. Erin go Bragh =)

  • Which Rhythem is he playing on guitar? Need help to learn it.

  • I like it! Who is the singer? I can vouch for the location. In the background you can clearly see Garron Point which is between Carnlough and Cushendall on the North Antrim coast. I spent 6 years of my life in College there!

  • my babys song from scotland

  • I like seeing him walking along in the tee-shirt that makes him look kind of fat and the stranger Jeans Kind of funny eh?

  • I love this!

  • HAA

  • man , you are gzz

  • this is actually kinda good!!

  • u're a cutie and a good singer! very nice performance, A+ :)))

  • theres somethin about americans singin irish songs it just doesnt seem right ... listen to this and then listen to mundys version with sharon shannon ... thats what im gettin at .. fair play though

  • @conordwyer07

the guy IS actually Irish and it was filmed on the North Antrim Coast.

  • @conordwyer07 Yeah I agree that's what I think when I see Irish singing American songs. But I try not to be obviously nationalistic in public.

  • @conordwyer07 Gee you are a pretty sharp knife eh? The song Galway Girl was written by an American song writer, Steve Earle -- so why is it Irish property?

  • @conordwyer07 Mundy's version is just great ,but it is Irish only by title and verse and the voices of performers,Mundy and the great Sharon Shannon,as the song was written by American Steve Earle ,who also does a version with Sharon Shannon

  • Heerlijke muziek!!!!

  • iiii loved it

those who are not from Ireland can know more

  • Great song........ only funny how he sings this Irish song with an American accent ......

which doesn´t make it worse.... just because I was in Ireland in Co. Galway sung by Irish people ... so I´m more used to that...neverthess This is sung well but more Country style ;-) - no offense!!

  • This fella and scene reminds me of Pat Shortt in Father Ted. When he was sitting down with an "I Shot J.R" t-shirt on him lol

    Kevin Collins

  • I love this song. I'm English & sometimes feel our traditional music is all but gone: a minority interest. In Ireland music seems alive and well!! (I know the song isn't an old one & is by Steve Earle who's American, but the feeling is there). I was in Tralee & Kerry over 35 years ago & the pubs were full of music. Cheers, thanks for posting another cracking version.

  • AranGaIactico ,hope you have a happy life with her because you can't be at an irish girl

  • It's songs like this that make me wish I were Irish. So much talent!

I'm an English Mod living in Cape Cod, but there will always be a special place in my heart for Irish music.

  • I lived with the Galway girl this song was written about ;)

  • Best rendition of GG i'v heard yet and I have heard thousands of them. So overplayed like the fields of Athenry.Good lad whoever you are. Beir bua agus beannacht. T

  • i so want to marry an Irish man from Galway...I love the Irish,im a foreigner here, and i remember as a little watching documentaries on Ireland...What a beautiful land and oh,the accent kills softly...

  • marry an Irishman; and make some Irish babies.(my little Irish daughter will be born soon) teach them Gaelic too.

  • DFORBES2007 is right stop fighting and enjoy the culture (although i dont think we should encourge the irish-drunk stereotype) i was born in american but my father came to america at the age of 2 i am only half irish but i'm proud to be to have any irish blood at all it is a beautiful country with rich culture

  • to be honest none of you are displaying the right irish ways , we are all about beer fun and a great way of life, with a super culture now stop fighting and irish and non irish enjoy ireland ^^

  • to mufcdouble2008 i think you are a litlle confused.i was born in england of irish parents and can go back 100s of years down my irish birthline.how i am i any less irish than someone born in ireland?

"just because i was born in a barn that does not make me a horse"

if you know you said that please reply.or i can supply the answer to you.

  • Im confused about nothing, im english of irish parents just like you i was having a go at nobody just asking someone else (who was slagging off americans for claimin g to be irish) what they thought.

  • sorry to go on.its very interesting that you consider yourself english, and thats my point i consider myself irish.nothing wrong with either point of view.the point i was trying to make is that its not where you are born that determines your ideniity.you are happy to consider yourself english although i would not agree with you.(born and raised in england l and respectfull of of everything i have been given)

thank you for an interesting disscussion.

  • Oh no problem its interesting to talk to you because i consider myself english but am very proud of my irish heritage love ireland to bits and would love to live there so i would say we would have alot in common. I was actually in dublin last weekend and was at croke park watchin the footy.

  • Say if ya english but both sides of ya family are irish u have an irish name n have actually been to ireland many times, dat wudnt make ya irish but wud u have more respect 4 dat person than some american hus great great great grandad was irish n dey tryna claim dey are?

  • This is an American song written by an American in America, yet it's wildly popular in Ireland. Traditional Irish music squeezed through an East Texas/Cajun filter until it comes out as as something new homogenized with something very old, yet still recognizable for both.

Irish-Americans are proud of having Irish blood - it's a compliment to their ancestral land, not an attempt to co-opt Irish pride. It's like being a football fan, but being able to say your cousin plays on the team.

  • Ive have nothing against irish-americans its good to be proud of your heritage i was just asking somebody else there personal view. Yes steve earle is an american and its an american song but it is popular in ireland because its about ireland.

  • mufcdouble2008

My post wasn't in response to you or anyone in particular, but more to the general noise about being "Irish".

When someone proudly says, "my granddad was Irish!" and some eejit says, "So what?", it leaves hurt feelings behind. Better response, I think is: "Really? Do you know what part of Ireland he came from?"

The song is a lovely bridge between cultures, and the "Irish or not" talk just undermines the good it does.

  • let me tell ya something, as a Gael-Mheiriceánach; i take a lot of pride in my Irish heritage. we do love the USA; but as for myself, i really love the Homeland.Tiocfaidh ár lá

  • Godd i respect that, its important to remember your heritage.
