@zuriel6 The reason why MVC2 had so many was because Capcom copied and pasted all the sprites from the previous Marvel/Capcom fighting games they did. Only 9 out of the 56 characters were actually new. Here it's a new engine. All the characters are being made from scratch. That's actually more work than copying/pasting.

The reason he won't be in the game is said by one of the workers "Strider Hiryu is popular overseas as well, we took him out of Marvel vs. Capcom 3, because he didn't fit in with its concept."

Right after the development of Strider Arcade/Genesis, the creator of Strider left Capcom, but Capcom was lucky to create Strider 2 and put him in MVC1 and 2. If you play MVC2 on 360 or PS3, if you look at the Copyright, you can see the Strider copyright.
Wow this is an awesome remix of Gambit's theme, it would so fit him in MVC3 if he made it to the roster. I'm also questioning, who the fuck is in charge of the roster? The characters I wish who were in the game are Strider, Venom, Blade, and for god sake, how bout some Power Stone characters? It's been age since we seen Jack, Falcon,or Wang-Tang in any Capcom game. Yet, why not Tyrant or Nemesis from Resident Evil series? If they could add Dormmamu, a huge guy, i don't see why not those two.

That doesn't mean I hate Zero, nah Zero is awesome. Im just hoping for Capcom to bring back characters we haven't seen in ages at all, like Power Stone characters, School Rivals, (well one school rival characters was recently in TVC). though unlikley, capcom likes to play with us, just like valve. Everyone knows Gambit and Deadpool are the two most popular superheroes right now. They had to show one (Deadpool) so people would be intrested in buying. Other character will possibly be announced for DLC or at very end when announcing last of characters. Dont get hopes up , its possible.
@pikminguy55 It really shouldn't be a surprise that they're not in. I like Ken, but I never thought he or Akuma had a chance. They weren't in MVC1 or TVC. The only reason they were even in MVC2 was because Capcom copy and pasted every character that was in the previous vs games. Expect more shotos in SFvT/TvSF. The creators have said that they wanted diversity for this roster. They are plenty more unique SF characters they could use.
@TheReturnofLurker15 It's no rumor about Gill. They flat out deconfirmed him at NYCC. CapCom seems unlikely due to his assists. Putting him in would mean they would have to make three more models meaning have something else that takes more memory and that memory could be used towards something else. This goes back to what Nitsuma was saying about Darkstalkers characters being memory hogs.

Still: NO Blade, Nightcrawler, Venom, Ms. Marvel, Black Widow, Elektra, Emma Frost, Psylocke, Cyclops, Black Panther, Luke Cage (he would be Haggar's equal, imagine him, Haggar, and Hulk!!!), Gambit, Daredevil, Green Goblin, Shocker, Doc Oc, Carnage, Black Cat, Moon Night, Silver Surfer, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Falcon

Samanosuke should be in it, as well as 2 from Sengoku Basara (Shingen with his HUGE axe, Sasuke with his shurikens, all the characters are unique enough to be in the game as well as add pizazz and color for visual representation as well). Iron Fist, Doctor Strange, Nova, Hawkeye, and Ghost Rider are confirmed. Virgil, Firebrand, Frank West, and Nemesis are in too.

though unlikley, capcom likes to play with us, just like valve. Everyone knows Gambit and Deadpool are the two most popular superheroes right now. They had to show one (Deadpool) so people would be intrested in buying. Other character will possibly be announced for DLC or at very end when announcing last of characters. Dont get hopes up , its possible.

@pikminguy55 It really shouldn't be a surprise that they're not in. I like Ken, but I never thought he or Akuma had a chance. They weren't in MVC1 or TVC. The only reason they were even in MVC2 was because Capcom copy and pasted every character that was in the previous vs games. Expect more shotos in SFvT/TvSF. The creators have said that they wanted diversity for this roster. They are plenty more unique SF characters they could use.

@TheReturnofLurker15 It's no rumor about Gill. They flat out deconfirmed him at NYCC. CapCom seems unlikely due to his assists. Putting him in would mean they would have to make three more models meaning have something else that takes more memory and that memory could be used towards something else. This goes back to what Nitsuma was saying about Darkstalkers characters being memory hogs.

Just because it started with X-men vs SF doesn't mean X-men characters should dominate the roster. I want variety. Especially since this won't have as many characters as MVC2. There are plenty other Marvel characters that are non X-men related that could work in this game.
