@Bassman0Nate look buddy maybe you're getting the wrong idea. classifications are merely intended to organize music, not take from it. its not like anyones saying one genre is better than the rest. it helps to know what kind of music you are listening to for conversational purposes as well. sometimes you might show a friend a cool band you think they'll like, and when they say "ooh this is nice! what is it?" then you're glad that there are categories to refer to for recommendations.
