  • Wicked!I like watching you two perform your music-really good stuff, well chilled grooves.

  • Why does it take me soo long to find great talent like you guys??? I as waiting for "SADE" to bring in the vocals !! P.S. I loved the congas!!! Thanks for inspiring the rookie synth hobbyist

  • TSF!

    again....

    AWESOME!

much love from the Rosso Corsa family

  • the congos will kill your tracks..... all i have to say.... and mabe a bit of automation on the velocity for the hats line........;) have an LFO with mid depth set to random shape on the amp....is a great work around i find works great :)

  • @guajirok0nn Hi. thanks for the suggestion. Its an interesting one. :) the EMX does have a feature that will save all of your tweaks and parameters but I think a random LFO in the amp would be hard to hear since the congos "ADSR" or ENV time is so short, it would have to appear immediately to hear its (LFO) effect. I will have to try it, and see if it helps. I can also just go into each sound and adjust the levels better, LOL. Thanks again for the suggestion.

  • Very nice composition and performance!

Do you use the KORG EMX-1 drum machine for all your drum patterns and samples or make some manually with the Motif?

    Greetings,

    Peter

  • Hi! Thanks. :) I personally use my Korg EMX-1 & either play the beat patterns in, using the "keys" or I use the step sequencer. I always initialize a pattern & start from scratch with nothing pre-programmed. There are no presets left in my machine, they are all erased and written over with patterns I am working on. I have never used samples in my music. On the Motif I play the beats live for the entire song on the keys, if I make a mistake, I start all over again until its right.

  • Nice and keep playing

    Thanks

    Peter

  • this is great!

  • Thank you so much. :)

I love RetroSound synth videos, keep up the great work and have fun with all those great synths!

  • Very nice.

  • real nice, keep up the good work! :)

  • I just want to say this music is VERY nice. And long live the Yamaha QX-3. AWESOME sequencer.

  • YEAH! :) QX-3 is AWESOME!! :)

I also have the Huge QX-1 that I will post a video on once it is here in the studio. Its a unique sequencer with 8 midi outs and 5 and 1/4 floppies! It still works too. The QX series are like linear MIDI tape machines. The QX-1 can send and receive data from QX-3 too. You can also use "job commands" to figure out how long a song is at different tempos, neat feature.

    Many thanks! :)

  • You are my new favorite internet person. The fact that you are practically a proffesional at what you do, and that you integrate technology from today and yesterday is nothing short of badass. You sir, are awesome. :)

  • Thanks so much. I WISH I was at a professional level! :) My synths & sequencers are 22 years or older. Today's tech is good too. I think its best to integrate both into a studio, gives you more choices.

((Um, I noticed in other videos that ppl think I am a male too, Not sure the reason. I certainly hope that I don't look like a male! LOL That would be very embarrassing!! um, I am a 26 year old female, not trying to be rude here, I promise. Just thought I would clarify! :) Thanks! :) TSF

  • nice music btw

  • Thanks!

Your music is great by the way, very good orchestrations too. Decent hip hop instead of that crazy stuff of today. Keep up the good work. :)

  • lol bro even edited ur hair lol awesome I wish there 2 of me

  • Huh? I am a little confused. LOL I am not sure what editing ur hair is, and uh there are no guys in the videos. LOL Um, not sure if I understand. Can you pls explain? Thanks so much!

  • amazing how you are putting everything together

  • just me again : wot is that sound on the casio cz5000 ? do you use some effects ? it sounds like vocoder ? i like it !

  • Its a secret! JUST KIDDING! LOL :) The CZ-5000, is controlling my Juno due to a pitch bend removal, (in bad shape) :( Anyway, it is a sound that I made out of a pulse/saw waveform, no sub osc. The ADSR for the VCA is DGT'ed. T4 is 10. I use a pedal for the delay and change the saturation of that effect to what I need. The style of playing the (non-velocity) patch took the time & still could be better. I add LFO (pitch) with the pitch bend lever of the CZ to the Juno carefully. :) TSF

  • thanks to share your method, it's very interesting to learn how musicians work. continue to share ! cheers from France !

  • Merci.

    Sure thing. :)

    Greetings from Austin TX! :)

  • what gig you use then of synths and other things??

  • Hi! :) In my studio I use the Roland D-50 (my love), A Roland Alpha Juno-1 (very warm synth), a Casio CZ-5000 (MIDI controller for my Juno-1 that has no P.B.Lever :(, Casio CZ-101 (also, MIDI controller for the Roland JV-880), Korg EMX-1 (drum machine), programmed by me, PG-1000 (D-50 programmer), and a Beringer Amp & an old speaker. I also have a MiniMoog Vst but it doesn't work well through MIDI. All sounds in my songs are made by me. I am addicted to synthesizers!! :) TSF :)

  • Glad you got a better copy up. You can actually hear crystal playing the bass this time! Yay!

  • wow!!!!!! so great to such freedom in expression with synths and to be two must be greate to help eac other too:)))) ok keep up the good work have fun make great music:))5++++++/+++++++

  • My sister is just the greatest to me. We enjoy working together in the studio. We each have our own "specialty". Crystal's is world music, organ, bass, classical & dulcimer arranging, among other things. My specialty is synths, 80's, synthesizer & chill music, sound programming, sequencers, & repair and maintenance of our synthesizers & equipment. Its also nice to get honest opinions from each other on new song ideas.

    :) TSF

  • You are more than welcome- it was a fun song to play.. love the days of constant recording and late nights in the studio LOL.

  • awesome track girls !

    Thanx for sharing.

  • Thank you so very much. :)
