Wow! Hang on to that photo, it's historical and important! Carl's life is a great story, and the fact that he not only qualified as a Navy diver, but became one of the best of the best is simply incredible.

yea ive seem it but i know that movies arent always the same but in the movie he grts his leg cutof on wires but what really happened was he was getting ready for a dive and he stuck his leg outand another boat hit it (my granda sat on him to keep him calm)

Yes, typical Hollywood, they mixed two events in his life to create one "dramatic" moment. I guess accidents aren't very exciting to movie directors!
