  • Notice how the scum says "the lockbox has nothing but IOUs in it" and then avoids the obvious solution which SHOULD BE to pay them back. If anyone can't clearly see the hand of the 1% here, you are blind. Did you not catch the part about "privatize" which means they want to put that money into the same Wall Street frauds and crooks who screwed us over in the first place?

  • Doesn't social security support the country? things like buisinesses and services? its not like these folks horde the money, they pretty much give it straight back to the economy that supplies it. Its the top 20 percent of americans that hold 85 percent of the countries wealth, with the top 1 percent holding about 30 - 35 percent, surely getting that money moving more freely within the economy will prop up the lower and middle classes, and give millions better standards of living.

  • To quote one of their own Sign's, MORAN'S! Go Bubba Nation! Palin/Paul 2012! "Lets Bring Back The Dark Ages"

  • Abolish The State! Including Thug Socialist Security, Medicare, Medicaid, The DOD, the Pentagon and every other coercive thug program.

  • The word in The Constitution is "promote," not "provide."

    Words mean things, people.

  • Don't they see they're shooting themselves in the foot. I do think as with most laws social security should b voulentary

  • @Gmoneydog360 The Koch bros. are pouring millions into these "think tanks" and into Faux news to propagandize the "angry mob" (tea party). I will see people who are on SS and Medicaid at these TP rallies shouting about ending SS and Medicaid. Masterful bit of propaganda and brainwashing.

  • I believe that most T-Party people would be in favor of ending Social Security! Even though many of us are near retirement age, we'll put our personal lives on the line today because we are not hypocrites! And it has been on OUR backs for the last 40 years contributing, but we can see that this (like all govt entitlements) hurt more than help over time!

  • @ProudConservative2 it's not an entitlement if you pay more into it than you get back... an entitlement would be like if you're alive you get it, no questions asked.

  • @birthdaynick80 and what about all those that paid in their whole life and won't get a cent back because it has gone broke; or all the people that never paid a cent and still get a check every month just because they are an alcoholic and can't work. Lots of people take out way more than they ever put in. It should be changed or phased out. Take responsibility for your own life and stop relying on the govt.

  • @ProudConservative2 Here we go again, another anecdote spewing "conservative". Wow what a brilliant concept, punish everyone for the handful of anecdotes. This is like doing surgery with a hand grenade. How convenient of course that the idea has been introduced and pushed by the wealthiest 2% who do not need SS and would benefit mightily if it went away. That's right, eliminate it because somebody out there is taking advantage of it. BTW it's not broke, it's merely being robbed by those 2%.

  • @birthdaynick80 The "conservatives" have turned the word entitlement into some sort of code word for stealing. When you work at your job, you are entitled to get your paycheck on payday. When you fulfill a contract on your end, you are entitled to see the person on the other end fulfill theirs. By cleverly associating the word endlessly with "welfare queens" and other anecdotes, the "conservatives" have twisted the word out of its original meaning. No worries, lets just call them SS Payments

  • @MAINEPREPPER well put! It's hard to keep up sometimes with all the re-definitions that seem to be commonplace now more than ever in the media.

  • what mandate?

    v=i_3L35vPRRY

  • what mandate?

  • Once one concedes that a world government is not necessary, then where does one logically stop at the permissibility of separate states? If CAN and the US can be separate nations without being denounced as being in a state of impermissible anarchy, why may not the South secede from the US? NY from the Union? NYC from the state? Why may not Manhattan secede? Each neighborhood? Each house? Each person? If each person may secede from govt we have virtually arrived at the purely free society.

  • Slavery was an issue of the civil war. However, it was not the major issue. The biggest issues that started the war were tariffs that the north was placing on imported goods. The south felt this was unfair because they imported a majority of the goods and hence were funding the north. This also increased cost of southern exports and lead to higher interest rates on loans in the south. I won't even get into Lincoln's lies with brainwashed public school sheep.

  • They want social security to be removed from the federal governments responsibility. It is a state issue. Just like education should be run by the state. There isn't enough space to explain why but to put it simply. When one big entity controls everything, everything is run one way. When 50 smaller entities controller their own division of the same program. They run it 50 different ways, learning from one another, reforming, evolving, and growing.

I bet most of you never read the constitution.

  • Yeah less money for social security and more on tanks and bombs. Who needs food and medicine when you've got an AK47 in your hands, why help others when helping yourself is so much easier.

  • old people vote more than the young

its easy for them to get enslaved by a SS ponzi scheme

  • @Lighthouse724 I agree entirely.

  • Polls indicate that 53% of Teabaggers receive Social Security or some form of government assistance. Touch o' irony, eh?

  • @AtlasShruggery The argument is that is a state issue not a federal issue. No want wants it to be abolished, they just want each state to be responsible for it's own people.

There are other ways to care for the weak, sick, and disabled too. The less taxes their are, the more people donate money. The US is already the most generous nation two fold. Imagine how much people would give if they were not forced to give up a mass of their income to a bunch of greasy politicians that steal tax dollars.

  • @st4ticblu3

We tried that state's rights thingy with civil rights, remember? IWe also tried relying on private charities to care for the sick, elderly and disabled. It gave us widespread poverty among those groups.

  • @AtlasShruggery, actually the south believed in the states having the majority of the power over the federal consilidation of power. Not a bad idea but then we'd have all the states with different laws, different liscenses, etc. And SS is nothing but a huge scam the government uses to pay off interest to the Federal Reserve, a private bank. Everyone in the know realizes that you can get better returns by investing all your money in treasury bonds.

  • @Retic92

Actually, from the beginning, the South was primarily concerned with preserving slavery and, later, with denying equal civil rights for black folk.

RepubliCons like to pretend that Social Security is merely a pension program. It's not. It's a social insurance program for the elderly as well as minor children and disabled people.

  • Social Security is a giant ponzi scheme

  • "I, me, mine, mine mine!" is about all we ever hear out of these greedy, dim witted sociopaths. If the teabaggers had been around when Jesus did His sermon on the mount THEY would have been the ones who crucified Him!

  • @Travelwise65 NO, "I, me, mine, mine mine!" is all we hear out of Obama!

  • "I, me, mine, mine mine!" is about all we ever hear out of these greedy, dim witted sociopaths. If the teabaggers had been around when Jesus did His sermon on the mount THEY would have been the ones who crucified Him!

  • It is highly doubtful anyone under the age of 40 will ever receive SS benefits when they retire even though they are forced to pay into it.

  • @Lighthouse724 As opposed to the goverment taking your SS funds and leaving IOUs in there instead? Clinton did it, Bush expanded it, and now it's broke.

  • the govt can't do anything right social security has been raided so many times by reps that are long gone and now it's bankrupt I will never see SSI my kids will never even hear about it in school

  • @getnick77 the gvt can't do anything right? lol yeah. Airports, police, firemen, roads, grid... Yeah, the gvt can t do anything right.

  • Doesn't Larry know Soc. Security is broke? What an imbecile. Sure Larry, we want government to take our money away and waste it!

  • All services provided by the government can be provided cheaper and more efficiently by private interests.

  • @theVAGINAntichrist

    Prove it.

  • @theVAGINAntichrist Cheaper is not always the primary interest in a service. Why dont we privatize the military and the fire department and police?

  • @scooped13 Yeah, why don't we?

  • @theVAGINAntichrist o wow... obvious troll.

  • @scooped13 Right. Anyone who disagrees with you is a troll. Ignore all opposing ideas.

  • @theVAGINAntichrist Anyone who says "Yeah, why don't we?" to the suggestion of privatizing the fire/police is a troll.... and obvious. Ignore all opposing ideas that are overtly stupid. I cant even call that an opposing idea really... just a really really really dumb one.

  • @scooped13 That's exactly what a king would have said 400 years ago to someone who supported democracy.

  • @theVAGINAntichrist Im a US Marine, there is nothing more important to me than our country... my actions and commitment prove that.

A king would not have said your ideas were stupid... he would have thrown you in jail for treason for life and taken your family, land and possessions.... Please try to stay on topic as your red hearings do not sway me. Wild traitorous sounding rhetoric will get you nowhere. Lets here some reasons the fire/police should be privatized.

  • @scooped13 As I said before, it would be cheaper and more efficient. It would also be voluntary and noncoercive. There's no reason why the state needs to have a monopoly on police. Private security agencies/bodyguards exist already. As for fires, voluntary fire departments exist already. They exist because people obviously think that it's a good idea to not let buildings be on fire.

  • @theVAGINAntichrist The city of Atlanta should rely on volunteer firefighters to keep a safe guard on billions of dollars of architecture? It sounds like your stretching reality to fit your ideals.

The moral to the story is this: Government has its place. The gov is very good at setting minimum standards for society. Why did we create the EPA? FDA? FBI? etc... You have still failed to list 1 good reason to privatize these vital services.

  • @scooped13 My point is that all of those services don't need to be funded through force. You could have the exact same thing, if not better, if we kept things voluntary.

  • Your ignorance is evident in claiming that I espouse the GOP. The Dems and Reps are one party. Both embrace keynesian "logic". L2Economics.

  • I guess you have no faith in Charity. Before social security there were hospitals operated by the Shriners, Churchs, non-profits etc. Doctors would work for $3/hr. People were not dying in the streets like you claim. Research Voluntaryism. Reject your principles of violence that you claim are in the name of equality and peace. Forceful coercion is wrong!

  • @cclodfe you should research the history of american public health. you think charity is a substitute for government? Hah! You kill me. Yoooou are a funny guy!

  • Managed care by the govt created this mess. State health boards, AMA, insurance etc. have lobbied the state since the 50's to protect their private interest and market share. The state has made a cartel of the healthcare and insurance that have increased prices and removed freedom of choice for the consumer. Single payer will increase healthcare prices and stifle innovative technologies and procedures. The reform will do nothing but solidify the f#cked up corporatist cartel. Set the market free!

  • BTW I am not a teabagger. The teabaggers are nothing but neocons that are pissed off because a black dem is in office (most of them anyways). This movement was originally started by libertarians long before the election and was hijacked by the neocons. These protests were taking place during the Bush administration. Unfortunately, when CNBC's Rick Santelli advertised the movement the necons were quick to hijack it. F*CK you Santelli! F*CK you Palin! F*CK you neocons!

  • When I say abolish the state, I mean only by peaceful means. i.e. education & counter economics. You can not force people into freedom. Society must reject all forceful coercion. Taxation=theft. Govt=monopoly on initiating force.

  • So who's gonna pay for the army service? VA? Police? Medicaid? Illegal wars? Fire dept? Public transportation? Government is supposed to be by the people, for the people. The 8 Bush years, it's been a government by the rich, for the rich at YOUR expence.

USA can be considered a 3rd world country in many places..

Oh! You would hate Frabnce! Socialist Euripe would be a nightmare for you, where taking your appendix would be free! Youi would have hated it..

  • If you expand SS the excess funds would not go to future retirees. It would go mostly to the DoD. The state will never eliminate the military budget. Government jobs have no means of econ calculation. There would be no pricing mechanisms to determine production. Capital goods would simply be internal allocations. Fair wages can be created if govt stops protecting corporate cartels which would increase social mobility. The only way to do this is to abolish the state completely.

  • Social security should be expanded so that all people regardless of age have access to $20,000 a year. This could be done by eliminating the military budget and having the government directly employ people instead of allowing capitalists to exploit them.

  • No one would completely abolish social security over night. It should be transitioned out using private investment instead.

  • @cclodfe

Private interests, i.e corporate interests are based on greed.

SS is suppoesed to benefit everbody! But that might sound too socialist, right?

  • @bohemianwriter1 The goverment freely takes from the social security fund. Clinton used it to balance th edebt. Bush used it to help pay for the so-called "War on Terror". Do you truly believe it benefits all?

You are so worried about corporate greed, but you fail to see what goverment does with it.

  • @Kapan60

Telll you why: The Dems have gone GOP, and GOPhave moverd into the loonie bin.

And these freaks you are talking about ARE corporate whores. What they did was take from the needy in the name of corporate wellfare. It's the corporations who send in whomever they want at every election. They win no matter who wins...

  • @bohemianwriter1 I'm confused.... I pointed out two idiots in goverment that used YOUR social security funds to pay for goverment "programs" and your talking about corporate welfare....

War is not a corporate welfare program. Goverment debt isn't wasn't during the Clinton administration. (Now it is thanks to the banker bailouts under Bush & Obama).

  • Hell yeah do away with Social Security. I don't want the Fed. Government taking MY MONEY & doing with it whatever they feel like.

  • God you are so fuckibng selfish¨!

I guess you would rather have people die on the street rather than to having share "your"money through taxes and social welfare that would also benefit you iif you should lose your job.

I guess that the highest form of patriotism amongst selfish & greedy teabaggers are greed! Greed and war! And killing babies!

You freaks have gone absolutely insane!

Steal from the poor and give to the rich! Give yourr money to the corporation of your choice!

  • @bohemianwriter1 : why would anyone die on the street, when there are so many compassionate liberals like you, who apparently have no problem inviting them to your house?

You liberals always speak of "fair share", contributing to the greater good of the public - often accusing your opponents of being selfish / greedy / corporatist or even racist, but seriously, what have done for your community lately? When was the last time you volunteered for those who are less-fortunate?

  • @bohemianwriter1 Dude!!! What kinda crack have you been smokin'? First off, I am NOT NOW...NOR HAVE I EVER BEEN a "teabagger". I AM however a righteous American that knows the difference between right & wrong. And WHAT THE HELL are you talking about..."steal from the poor to give to the rich"? I am A LOT closer to being poor than I am to being rich, plus, I don't believe in stealing FROM ANYONE...PERIOD!

  • When will socialists learn about economics /sigh. Social security is a bankrupt ponzi scheme. Govt take excess funds (taxation-benefits) and issues an IOU in the form of a interest bearing bond. The excess should be reinvested, but instead is spent on non-related projects- bridges, roads, defense etc. A private social security would allow individuals to invest the excess funds as they see fit.

  • @cclodfe

You are not too bright are you?

Why don't you get an education instead of spewing out GOP talking points? Take a social economics class!

Are you being paid by some fat lobbyist by the way to spread ignorance?

  • How come the rich are guaranteed a profit on everything. And they always use my money to replace the riches losses and I end up paying for their frivolous spendings and bad management. They give low interests rates to the populace and give the profitable interest rates to the rich.

  • isnt that the guy who played Clinton on SNL?

  • Yeah, the health insurance companies who, as a business, are motivated to not provide health care, provide it cheaper and more efficiently. Do you mean efficiently as in their own dedicated staff whose purpose is to find ways not to pay claims? Do you mean their actual existing current "death panels" that they acknowledge as having - and need for gaining more profit for the shareholders?

Their lawyers publicly announcing their intention of finding loopholes in following requirements in this bill

  • Congrats, you stupid idiots. Most Teabaggers ARE on Social Security.

That's not gonna resonate well with the TB "base".

  • @mhirtes12 Teabaggers are nothing but sociopaths

  • Wow, these people are insane.

  • @DrGeophysics

...and they are making a bundle for acting/being insane.

  • lets abolish everything and become a third world country like Haiti. Ohh for the good ole days of robber barons and indigent homes.

  • And feifdoms. Do you got yer own turnip? OOO-arr!
