Thracia 776 was the beginning of Fire Emblem as we know it today. Most of the new mechanics in it, including weapon triangle, appeared in all later games Even the remake of Ankokuryuu to Hikari no Tsurugi (remake is known as Shadow Dragon in English) used all of the Thracia mechanics that returned from Thracia into later games, because they all increased the strategy factor. It's not just a good game, we may as well call it the first modern Fire Emblem game.
@eatthisyoutubudien0w The triangle first appeared in Genealogy, not Thracia. Genealogy also introduced the post-attack movement for mounted characters, which was reintroduced in the 3d games, as well as the skills and the precursor to the support system. Thracia introduced fog of war, rescuing, and side chapters.
Fire Emblem is one of the best tactical games out, it makes you feel attached to the characters then blows you away by pwning all your characters with someone like THE BLACK KNIGHT (FTW). The music is close to the par of FF (FINAL FANTASY Music is said to be some of the best game music ever, and i must agree)
i love it how caeda confesses her feelings to Marth. It's SO CUTE!! I also feel sorry for Marth when his sister sacrificed herself gave him her tiara to him. It's not right at all for her to do that.
Too unlikely... but just imagine how different things would've been if Nintendo had decided to release each and every single Fire Emblem game fully localized...
I'd be a happy person to have played Monsho no Nazo and Fuin no Tsurugi (which I'm actually in the process of completing right now). But I really want to learn more about Marth's story.
Actually, the main reason why Fire Emblem never came out in America was due to the fact that the very first Fire Emblem did not sell so well in Japan when it first came out. And if a game doesn't do so well in Japan, there's a good chance it won't fair so much in America.
The interesting thing is that Monsho no Nazo, however, was "the only Fire Emblem game which appeared in the top one hundred games list from readers of the magazine Famitsu."
Which is pretty interesting indeed. You think Seisen no Keifu would be in that top 100 since it is the most beloved of the series, btu it's just one magazine (however, said magazine is like the top gaming magazine in Japan). I think Seisen no Keifu may had jumpstarted F.E.'s popularity.
By far the single most underrated video game franchise of all time.

My personal favorite incarnation of the Fire Emblem theme. Oh, how far the series has come!

why did Nintendo wait so much to introduce both the first game in English and the whole series into America? it's unfair! it's such a good series

They wanted to keep the good stuff to themselves? I don't know. I love this series
