Beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like this kind. I think this kind of people who dance like that would make Pol Pot too much headaches. He will order all of them to the killing field. PP has no Education at all. He failed the Exams when he studied in France..then he came back home to become the Killer.
I've never heard of this singer from my mom except the famous male singer of the 60s Sinn Sisamouth, but I love her beautiful voice & the mix with the western beats & attire of western culture of that time...a little background: I am born & raised in California, but I am of Cambodian & Chinese & Vietnamese heritage...I love digging up the past because it's such a mystery ... I love how the culture here is the same in Cambodia, but unfortunately the genocide of the 70s stole it away
It can be very hard to find the original albums - in Phnom Penh you can easily find the songs in compilations, but often they have added beats. You may want to contact youtube user canelsereyvuth, who has a great collection of classic unedited songs and who lives in PP, so you may get some good advice on how to find them. There are so many great songs, and there are always more to discover, that is part of the fun of this music. Good luck :-D
I love the 60s/70s classic Western Rock music. What a great musical influence Khmer musicians were back then! Some of the songs on your playlist from other Asian artists sound very familiar to some of the Khmer songs I used to listen to--and they are very beautiful songs. I really love this song, and of course, the other songs by Christie-"Yellow Fever" and Joe Dassin-"L'Amerique". Very peaceful music...:)
@phmentertainment i like Pan Ron, Ros Sereysothea and Sin Sisamoth so much...even now thier song still popular....I love them and all Cambodain......!
Hearing stories about life before the war is one thing. But hearing the music and seeing some video just confirms those stories and makes it real. Its pretty sad what our parents' and grandparents' had to go through.
As a westerner who recently discovered this classic "Khmer Rock", I am absolutely amazed at how beautiful the vocals are and how well it was combined with the classic "60s/70s Western Rock" music.
Respect to these Khmer classic rockers!!!
At the same time, I am deeply saddened that virtually all of these wonderful artists were killed by the Khmer Rouge... :-(
Does anyone know: Would I be able to find these original albums for sale in Phnom Penh? Please, someone let me know, and thanks!!

Before the war Cambodia were world class, interm of music and vocalist, compare with those present singers are a bunch of craps. The vocals from the old time are really professionals, they can get into your soul as soon as you hear them sing, unlike the prsent singers , they are just a bunch of joke to me. If nobody critize them and correct the right ccourse, Cambodian music will be the same craps for a long time to come, even singers from the U.S. and France were much better like Keo sarat.
I dont think even ros sothea could sing this particular song so well, pan ron has an fineness and subtlety in her voice that's spendid in this song. It's made my day!
