Thanks for putting this one up on youtube. If you can find it, Omar Faruk Tekbilek "RaRe Elements" is a collection of remixes, including this track (though calls is "The Unity of Diversity Remix By Cheb / Sabbah)", Aksak (Amon Tobin Remix), and Omar's Chocco (Kodome Remix). Brilliant!
this does actually have a weird repetitive hypnotic vibe to it. it's like no other song i've heard before, i doubt i will ever get bored of this tune, it's overly sick! has this hefner dude made any other sick remixes?
Hi folks, just to let you know, Erkin koray is the original composer of "Sashkin", Omer Faruk reinterpreted it after two decades and did a good job. Remix is pretty cool too. Search youtube for Erkin Koray if you wish to hear the original version.
You should see my music library. I don't put in the genre tag on any of my files. I suppose some people might say ambient chill? Or, clump it all under 'Electronica.' I guess I'd just say grooveyasskickertypemusic. :-D Someone is bound to classify it one way or something completely different if you let them listen to it.
great but the major part of this music' s clearly taken from a tradtional arabic song. sang in the early 1970s by a female arab singer named Samirah 'the nomad' and it does not sound like omar faruk's music anyways.
:) thanks for taking the time. I just wrote that this fucking track is out of this world and that this tune is massive. And if you do not mind I will correct Your post::" Mój język polski jest bardzo straszny".Take care and have a good day:)
Heh, I told you my Polish was horrible. :-P And yes, I kinda got the gist of your message. ;-P My writing Polish is pretty bad, but I tend to be able to understand a lot of what is told to me, as long as you speak slowly, heh
"Hypnotic" does not mean "I want to do drugs while I listen." It's soothing but also makes the body want to sway and move to the rhythm. For those of us who aren't Turkish, foreign music like this can be really new and groovy. Be glad we're enjoying it.
@ThatsNotPoetry Well said, at least us westerners and middle easterners can agree on one thing: This is a SINFUL BEAT that needs to be played at very high volumes;)

The wind instrument is zurna, a double-reed instrument used by mainly many parts of Asia.
