  • Where do you get Solidworks for a cheap price. I looked into it and a single seat costs around $8000 depending on what "extras" you had and goes way up to $22,000. It' looks like a good program though. I sent away for an evaluation disk but didn't have the time to use it properly and find out what it can do. Good video to watch though. Thanks for posting.

  • @baccus61 I sorry to tell you the version of SW I used wasn't bought. When I developed this project I still wasn't enrolled with a university, so I couldn't get educational version. Although this project has been for educational purposes and I didn't make money of it.

If one day I will use it for commercial purposes, I would buy it. And I would recommend everyone to do it. I know what costs to do a program.

I'll post a video of the machine working soon :)

    Thanks for commenting!

  • @Xelaalex92 OK. I just wanted to do sheet metal parts but for the price there was a lot of alternatives out there but none as good as SW by the looks of it. Wish I was rich! :-) thanks.

  • @baccus61

    Try Craigslist.

  • Which software have you used? Can you give me the file of the project? is very interesting!!!

  • @MrtCesco93 I used SolidWorks 2009. The source files of the project I don't give to anyone, but if you want you can ask me whatever you want :)

I built this machine after making the design with SW and works like a charm! I've got a couple videos of it. Must admit that are very old and now it works much better and faster!

When I have time I want to do some cool renders. If you want, I can send you some :)

  • What was the final build cost for the complete system without computer and driver

  • @TexasSting007 Sorry for not having answered sooner. The cost is difficult to calculate because some parts I already had (plastic parts). The rest, I think about 2000€. The cost of electronics (including computer) was about 700€.

    It's working very well :)

  • What is the huge cavity in the bottom for?

  • @AV3NG3R00 Inside the cavity there is a computer and stepper drivers and other devices. I just need to plug in a screen a mouse and a keyboard and it's ready to use.

  • right, movable tables dont boast of size.

  • looks like a very small machine to me

  • @donkekeli The working area is 500x500x250mm. Of course is not a ploter but is enough big for me.
