I think Green day should have won because if it weren't for them "paving a path" in the 90's then the other bands nominated wouldn't have been able to go mainstream. And because green day took the risk to lose all their fans by creating songs that address the governmental issue. Which is rare for rock bands to do. At least its rare to do it to the extent green day did. But the strokes and the killers (ect) are all good bands
