  • 大学生の頃の思い出の曲。

    パワフルなアレサの唄いップリが大好きでした。

    もちろん今でも大好きです。

  • Great tune!!

I remember when I first saw it wondering why it was in black & white and then turns color at the end (time 3:54 ). Maybe there is a color print version out there that exist but they preferred releasing most of it in black & white?

Perhaps having the video in b&w gives a unique touch that color couldn't.

  • This girl is the Queen of soul . The best . Patti Labelle second .

This song still sounds awesome two a bit decades later .

  • Back when music was music!

  • Come on Detroit, we can go back to all great times. Show them why you are called the Motor City. Come on America, let's go back to all those times when we lead the world. Americans are resilient....

  • Always such a Great song

  • grandissima aretha emozionante

  • I thought that this was Aretha's music video and not that conceited, camera hogging drummer/director's video.

  • @hurtu33 lol he sure ain't camera shy.

  • Aretha Kicks the song into passing gear!!

  • NOTHING says America more than cruising on a freeway in a land yacht getting 10 MPG! Its called style!

  • She was and is the heartbeat of our lives.

  • aritha rocks! love her music!

  • Aretha better look like a queen in the mink hat and jacket. Rock it! Better yet, "jump, jump, jump to it!" LOL.

  • Love this song....

  • I loved this song the first time I heard it on the radio.

As for Clarence Clemons, he was a wonderful sax player indeed who can never be replaced.

  • God bless you Mr clemons. The sax will never be played the same again. You are the best.

  • With the phrase "Maceo, I want you to blow!" James Brown started decades of a powerfullead sax that did include "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag" "Out of Sight" and "Say It Loud." Brown met Maceo and his brother Melvin, in a NC club. Maceo has been key sax man for Ray Charles, Bootsy Collins, and George Clinton. He lives in eastern NC and I see him regularly. He is a legend in his own right.

  • Clarence along with NC's own baaadast saxman, from James Brown's band, Maceo Parker, were the backbone of many a Billboard chart toppers and R&B classics!

  • @gmonet46 Was that Maceo Parker that did the track for the extended 4 min single version in JB's Papa's Got a Brand New Bag? That is the universe's best sax solo, along with Clarence in the Peter Gunn theme, and Jr Walker in Roadrunner.

  • Clarence played the hell out of that solo. This is a classic track

    Rest in peace Big man.

  • RIP Mr. Clarence Clemmons...Play your golden saxophone loud 4 all of Heaven 2 hear. Go in Peace with the BIG MAN, "Big Man." You'll be missed. ;-)

  • RIP Clarence with that killer sax performance!!!

  • Still one of my favorites.

That Pink Cadillac in the video once belonged to Jayne Mansfield.

  • this was a killer song even without clarence, but he made it SWING...i remember hearing this on the radio as a kid and thinking for the first time "dammit, i wish i could drive!"

  • RIP, Clarence Clemons. You will forever be remembered as the Big Man with the golden sax.

  • Boy the Big Cman is the picture of relaxed smoothness!! Bustin a groove!

  • RIP Clarence

  • CC....Keep blowing that Sax all over heaven....We will miss you

  • You didn't just play the sax, you made it sing! Adieu, Clarence. Thanks for the incredible music!

  • RIP, Big Man. Great Sax from Clarence Clemons that played thru many tracks from Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Aretha Franklin to Lady GAGA. You will be missed.

  • @pablohsu

Putting Lady Gaga in the same sentence with 3 other legendary artists is an insult to actual music.

Yes GaGa can sing but she's not that experienced yet.

  • @boogs2007

I was referring to Clarence work from past to present.

  • Good Work Big Man, heaven just got a little funkier!

  • The news on 6/13/11 reported that Clarence Clemons has had a stroke...I send him my best wishes for a quick recovery. GET WELL SOON BABY !

  • @darlinkula1

Likewise, wish the Big Man a quick, full recovery.

  • Me too, I love Clarence.

  • Love this, never saw the video b4.

  • **PLEASE LISTEN UP**

Please =) my dream is to be a singer I know that Im not a professional singer but I do my best and if you give me the opportunity I know that I can be that singer that im dreaming please stop by my channel “Anlimema” and check out my acapella (I speak Spanish) and if you liked it wow that’s good and if you dislike it please don’t be rude, you have no idea how much I appreciate your support, it means the world to me.

  • This was the first song I heard on the radio the first time I was ever on an L.A. freeway.

    True.

I got on the freeway, turned on the radio and this came on.

    It is a great song.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Aretha was so DIRTY in singing this naughty naughty song! You guys do realize that the "Freeway" is right?? It's a miracle Tipper Gore didn't put it on the "Filthy 15" back in the day!

  • I know she sings this like no one's business, but for me, it's Clarence Clemons' sax solo that slays me every time. Rumor has it that the Pink Caddy in the video is not only hers, but used to belong to Jayne Mansfield.

  • Aretha Franklin clears up cancer rumors

Just one week after saying she wasn't "going to even deal with" rumors that she was suffering from pancreatic cancer, Aretha Franklin is finally speaking out.

“I don’t know where ‘pancreatic cancer’ came from," the Queen of Soul tells "Access Hollywood." “I was sitting there reading the newspaper and it was saying someone in my family said that. No one in my family ever said that to anybody.”

  • aretha frinkin sings the best of all 80s

  • 5 people have been splatted by a truck while ridin' a broken bicycle on da freeway.

  • Genial.

    This is music.

    Aretha, immortal.

    From Madrid (S-pain).

  • I love this song & video!

  • Listening to this song shaves 30 years off my age.....get up and goove!

  • My insane mother was very fond of this song. She used to love to get really drunk and dance in the mirror to this song. It was very very entertaining and hilarious! It brought joy to her life. It was the highlight of her life. Bless her heart. RIP! I misu mummy.

  • I remember watching this video on MTV and loving on that blond guitar player. Just watched this and I still do. Give me a call, sweet thing.

  • i was staring at a yeild sign while this song played in the car

and now i think i'll go film a bush and play this video while doing it

  • Saw a few glimpses of the old Ford siloh. I live a mile from this place. Its at the old Ford Rouge assembly plant. In the early 90's Ford Rouge became Rouge Steel (Dearborn Michigan). The plant was started in the early 20's by Henry Ford and is one of the original auto plants. From Raw materials to a fully functional auto made at Ford Rouge. The entire complex is now RUSSIAN owned. Severstal NA. Yet, another example of how our nations industries are being dismantled and sold off..

  • Go on over Miss Thang......

  • With the radio playing our song

  • How can this song not get your blood pumpin? Great song and beat!

  • It's "better than ever street"!

  • Aretha is still the Oueen ...looking forward to the Movie of her life.

  • She had gastric bypass surgery, thank god it wasn't cancer.

  • People often forget that Aretha Franklin had a LOT of hits in the 1980's, her career was probably stronger then than in the 60's.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE ARETHA<3

  • .

    Sing it, Aretha!!!!!

  • Aretha looks funky in this video

  • This Aretha Franklin 1985 Music Video, "Freeway Of Love," Did Played, During The Video World Segment, During The 483rd Edition Of "Soul Train" On October 5, 1985.

  • Music can be fun. Memories...)

  • Back when driving on the freeway was fun and you actually saw more than the color red from the back of people's cars.

  • was it Aretha that just popped into Luciano Pavaritis solo at one of the awards shows when he couldn't make it? It was jaw dropping amazing.

  • Queen of deva

  • Freeway? I think that's a bad analogy. I'd like a woman who is a dirt road of love or perhaps a lightly travelled sidewalk of love. When you meet a woman who's a Freeway of love...i'm talking 8 lanes with a toll booth & a seperate lane for big trucks, RUN! :P

  • Aretha rules!!!!

  • GO HEAD RETHA, GO HEAD ON SAX PLAYER, WHO IS THAT BY THE WAY??!!! O IS STILL SO GOOOD!! OK CLARENCE CLEMONS. HE SEXY AS ALL ...!!!

  • GO HEAD RETHA, GO HEAD ON SAX PLAYER, WHO IS THAT BY THE WAY??!!! O IS STILL SO GOOOD!!

  • that narada sure is mighty cute!!!!

  • I just love this video.........

  • IT WAS NOT CANCER

  • @butrokkek THATS GOOD!!!

  • Although she has female musicians in this video, I don't see that happening these days. I wish, in the music industry, we had female versions of Kool and The Gang, Earth Wind and Fire, and The Commodores. Because we don't, that sucks for everybody.

  • THIS SONG ID THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WE LOVE YOU, ARETHA!!!!!

  • I-94 Eastbound near Dearborn where you find that big tire (3:00). It's still there, but looks different now...
