I plan on being a heli-pilot and plan to go to an academy either Air Force or West Point If I were to go to Air Force could I still join the Night Stalkers (as a pilot)? And if so is there a higher chance they'd pick a West Point Graduate over an Airforce Grad?
NIGHTSTALKERS ARE THE BEST!!!! I have two sons that are NIGHTSTALKERS and couldn't be more proud of them and the 160th SOAR.GOD BLESS YOU NIGHTSTALKERS.
BTW, my son is in this video with Three other NIGHTSTALKERS. (guys with the black lines covering their eyes).
Awesome video I had the privillage to travel with them in Fulluja , They saved my unit. Also Whats the name of the song.God Bless.....................
I got a question. I just finished all the credits so I can enlist and am looking forward to becoming a pilot. Can anyone give me a few tips for the AFAST test?
I am great at spatial orientation, pretty good at understanding physics but hate math lol. Good with compass and visual understanding such as angle of incoming objects etc.
Thank you for this video! And thank you to all who serve our country - my prays are with you all! I have family in military and a daughter in law about to head out to Afghanistan for a second time - and I am afraid for her and everyone! God keep them all safe.
flying a helicopter is hard but most trained aviators can handle it although there are some unfortunate crashes from time to time flying a helicopter while there are 25 guys shooting at you with 7.62 rounds that pierce your helicopter like a hot knive pierces butter makes it a little bit more complicated wouldnt you say? losing helicopters 25% of the time is great sinse regular aviators will lose helicopters 100% of the time in the same enviroment.
@PlaneAU You don't know what the hell you're talking about. Your 25% statistic is completely bogus, you simply pulled it out of your rear.
There are a bunch of reasons why the chopper in Operation Neptune Spear might have crashed. I heard that it was a simple matter of "settling with power." Settling with power occurs when a helicopter descends into its own turbulence. Results in a loss of lift, and isn't always recoverable at low altitudes. Crap happens to the best of us.
@MatthewHammer hmm I did not know about settling with power. Sounds interesting! What are some common crash reason for helicopter that not many people know about??? like specific rules of physic at same time that dont interact well for example.
Thanks for the vid! I have a few questions about some of the photography in your video (I would like to get copies). Please email me if you have time. Thanks again!
I have had the chance to be 160th, but I blow it off, they wanted to take my original citizenship out of me... I don't know it didn't feel so right to me.

@chillmike the 160th is a bunch of uncouth , crass, arrogant dick-head aviators that thinks the world revolves around them and their passengers...I love 'em too
i was reading a book which talked about a navy seal re-enlisting in the army to become a nightstalker pilot, for the excitement... coming from a seal.
if you're at ft campbell and you're a 94R, 94L or civilian equivalent (commo or radar electronics tech) with a security clearance or eligible for one-no convictions, bad credit etc, contact me asap.
you need to already be a pilot in the army to join the 160th, and even then you need to APPLY and be the best of the best. If they took anyone, well they wouldn't be the 160th.
@xxxtremeskipping let me break this down barney style for you. you dont HAVE to be a pilot to join 160th. You can be basically any of the 15 series which in the army is aviation mos's they also have alot of other mos's besides aviation. just think about all the mos's that support just aviation let alone a unit in general. supply tech supply fuelers just to name a few. all crew members also undergo a vision test requiring you to use your depth perception so someone saying they are joining or
@blackhawksoldier1 That comment was in a reply to someone who stated they wanted to go straight into the 160th to fly from a civilian. Lets not jump in the middle of 9 month old conversations with sarcastic comments and end up looking like a dumbass. Hows that for barney style.
