This is so lovely. Sun Ra made the happiest music in this world. I know from hearing tunes like this or "Medicine For A Nightmare" that he was a very good man.
Sun Ra made jazz music smell funny decades before Frank Zappa did. As a great fan of Coltrane it is a little hard to admit that Sun Ra has made the most cosmic and juicy jazz music in the history of the Milky way. Blue Note produced cool LP covers, Sun Ra made fantastic covers for his albums. And why not name a song after a planet or even a pair of twin stars only known by the son of Ra? Unlike e.g. Timothy Leary he was not a head of his time. Su Ra was first and foremost ahead of his time.
This guy is the most underrated jazz musicians of all time... occasionally he was shite, occasionally he was OK.
But when he was on form, he was the greatest musician of all time, making tunes that was totally out of this world. His imagination, innovation and soul will never be replicated by anyone ever again.
It's great musically, but his sexist lyrics here are unfortunate.

I actually hear alot of Flying Lotus in this, more contemporary hip hop production of the underground seems to pay homage to Sun Ra. it feels new
