  • Ahh Quake one of the few games that is always installed on my computer. Classics may age but they rarely go out of style.

  • Wow, you also include all of the secrets, thanks I'll use this one.

  • you play the game Like a Boss!

  • to play this game properly on modern hardware plus have things like widescreen and mod support, use the darkplaces engine

  • fuckin dogs

  • Steam sucks cock, period.

  • quake was the absolute shit, the next step up from doom at the time.. fuckin great post. gotta love 90's first person shooters, if not, go fuck yourself in the mouth

  • @wannabesedated00 I'm with you on that, the 90's FPS games were friggin ace......and the whole go fuck your own face thing too :D

  • @AshtrayWisdom No it does not you can get great classics like DooM 1 and 2 and others. tfc is a great example

  • i can play this on the enternet with no download lol

  • What does "untwinked" mean?

  • This makes me wish the original Team Fortress was still out there being played. I miss those games and the friends that were made!

  • Impluse1 my friend. ahahahahaha

  • Quake 1's environment was so cool.

Starting with Quake 2 though, it went to butt.

  • @AshtrayWisdom steam pwns you...I was gonna watch your vids and subscribe, but that comment just changed everything

  • @m3gadork Oh, Steam might be OK as a service, but I will never, ever use it. I will never, ever play HL2 because it requires Steam. I will never 'rent' a video game; I will only buy one. Fuck Steam.

  • @AshtrayWisdom it's impossible to rent video games for the pc to begin with, sadly.

  • @AshtrayWisdom steam dosent rent video games

  • "Not intended to be a demonstration of skill." You are very skilled.

  • i have all of then. you dam right. good game

  • How we played Quake at a young age. 1. Leave the lights on. 2. Godmode. 3. Make sure to play when it's day time. 4. If chainsaw or zombie dudes show up... PAUSE....QUIT! 5. Volume nice and low. 6. Gamma up high. (To see in those dark maps...) 7. Hear creepy groaning? Don't go that way... AT ALL... 8. Avoid those guys hanging on the wall... 9. NEVER FALL IN LAVA...EVER! (This especially goes for Quake 2...Why? EAR RAPEING SCREAMING...) 10. Nightmares and don't sleep.
  • was it one of the quakes you could load up weird extra weapons like a rubber chicken and i think i remember a guitar

  • this brings back memories i was so addicted to this game. i played this for so many hours gave myself a migraine. i have tried to download this but none of free downloads work driving me mad

  • I remember playing the port for this game on my n64 and trying to find all the secrets on my own.

    Good times.

    :3

  • oh id...

    you amaze me always

    for the win

  • the cheats are god and impulse 9

  • @YESYESYESnomaybee

Use WinQuake or GLQuake or something.

  • which port you use to play Quake?

  • DiRT 2 no match to this xD

  • No frills video of Quake, nicely done.

  • @Edd731 Lmfao ust watch closely at 0:28, where he shoots that bomb and it blasts the soldiers into little pieces, and the soldiers didn't even have enough time to react. Lmfao, and listen to the sound effect.

  • i can slightly rember as a child i played the quake 1 demo and there were zombies and pupies and one level and all you had was an axe

  • @Desmond21228 Lmfao. Ahhh nostalgia makes me cry. :-( Damn I remember playing Quake 1 on my Windows 2000 PC, with a big CRT monitor, and I remember using about 5 keys at the same time just to play the game. :'( Those were the good old days. The only game I can think of that can match the complexity of Quake 1 is GTA4. All the new games coming out are shit!

  • @YESYESYESnomaybee Try getting it on STEAM for $10. Or if you have a copy, run it on dosbox or set compatibility mode to win95, windowsNT, etc.

  • @YESYESYESnomaybee if you cant play quake 1 use dosbox to install the game cause quake is only run on dos or u can download the game engine called dark places but u need to have quake 1 to run it

  • @YESYESYESnomaybee lol! get it from an abandonware site & play it with dos-box.very-easy!

  • Great video. I never played Q1 only the games after that. Mr Carmack...you are a genius.

  • Hey! could you tell me if and how a 360 controller could be configured into this game?!

  • Perfect :D 100% secrets??

  • 2:15 Mario 64 noise.

  • you got skills, but, you're a sloppy player haha

  • I miss Quake. I couldn't play it because it gave me motion sickness. This map was about as far as I got. I knew all of the secrets (then) except the one where you had to swim. Quake II was better, at least in that it didn't make me sick to play.

  • Brilliant game and many, many late nights spent playing CTF.. WhO? Clan Rules, hehe :P

  • when was this friken game made lol

  • @spartanguy00 1996 back in the glory years of 128mb of ram was awesome ram, and 1gb hard drives were unheard off =P.

    processor min requirements 66mhz =)

  • @sdpenaloza Hahahaha. Those where the good old days.

  • My uncle had this game that he and I played a lot.

  • Open console and type: +mlook

  • where can i get this for vista (on a safe site)

  • You'd either have to buy it from Amazon or eBay, OR find the .wad file somewhere. (I've tried with no luck)

  • I remember liking this very much.

  • looks cool. what kind of computer are u playing this on?

  • funny how doom, wolfenstein and quake

    were like a triplet

  • yhea and DOOM and Quake use to be scary

  • Hey! Great vid, loved Quake back in the day

    still do

  • Woah DOOM 1 and the quake games are the best games of history

  • just quake 1 and 2. quake 3 is also fine but quake 4 and enemy territory were absolute shit.

  • well said

  • What do u use?

    WinQuake, GLQuake, ZQuake, FuhQuake,

ProQuake, WinProQuake, WinJoeQuake, GLJoeQuake, OR WHAT? Darkpaces? EzQuake?

  • You should be able to at least install the game files under XP. Set the compatibility mode of Quake.exe to Win 95 or similar.

  • How about vista? WinQuake works, but when i install Scourge of Armagon, it says: "Not compatable with windows NT" and "System does not support full-screen mode"

  • Ashtray please tell me what mod is it.

  • I Think i'm going to try this, not demo it though. Which source port did you use to play this through with?

  • The original version of the game.

  • Those were the days

  • @AddolfHittler nice name! =D were r u from?

  • @nooben2009

On vacation in "Hell on Earth"
