  • 1:00 tyler the creators dad

  • somebody has to tell that dude to shut the fuck up all he does is talk n not listen to shit ne body else says its clearly fucking kobe , he said it himself they asked a random dude he says kobe or jay z, he said kobe than that ignant fuck said " he dont even know who jay z is "....

  • Man i wish I was at that barbershop to argue that kobe is more influential

  • Kobe has More Influence , Cause Not Everyone One Listen's To Rap music

Especially In Country's Like China , I'm A Paki & I live in Hong Kong

And trust me almost all teenage Chinese boys watch NBA

and they love Kobe , they keep wearing his jersey's all the time

Basketball Is More Influential Than Rap Music

Basketball is worldwide even people who don't speak english play ball

but how are they supposed to rap if they can't speak english

    get my point

  • @MrMoonwalker4ever The question is who has more influence, not who is more well known

knowing who Kobe is doesnt mean he will influence your life in any way. but i want to know, how is just playing basketball influential ?

by the way, you dont have to speak English to listen to Rap, Jay Z has done shows in Africa and Japan.

  • The question is, who has a bigger INFLUENCE on peoplem not, who is more well known.

Kobe is more well known than Jay Z i would say, but Jay Z makes his career off of influencing people by his words. I am a HUGE Laker fan, and I love KB24, I even have his jersey. And I also have ALL of Jay's albums. I love Kobe for how he plays basketbal, I love jay for his music and what he says, no question, Jay Z has the bigger influence on people.

  • jpthabarber hahah u seriously think kobe hasnt recovered FINANCIALLY from that

  • for the average sportsman e.g (Kevin Garnett), they don't have a huge impact on people's lives, but for special individuals such as Kobe and Lebron, they are inspirational to many, just as Jay Z is.

  • Comment removed

  • Wheres Auto tune. DOA. Throwbacks to button ups. Cristal to rosay. Jay Z Mayback. Violence in music, to changed topic

Empire state of mind. NY Song

Most important question is whose the audiance being influenced.

I follow Music and sports, both influential.

But for someone who follows one of the two, will be influence by the icon of the particular choice.

  • i agree with the lil guy. If a rapper does or says anything, the next day everybody is copying it or trying to be like them. I do think that Kobe may be more well known around the world. USA plays in the olympics and his jersey is prob one of the most popular.

  • Internationally Kobe is far more influential.

  • u cant compare sport with music

  • gr8 point by the dude, Jay Z >>>>>Kobe, go 2 africa and ask 'em about kobe, most of 'em ever heard of him but Jay is a huuuge celeb all around d world.

  • I got a fuckin mind of my OWN PERIOD.

Them niggas only for my entertainment and that about IT!!!!!!

  • who is more influence? well no disrespect but kobe to me is more influence. alot of youth play basketball all over the world and not so many kids wants to be a rapper. in this two guys..Kobe is a million times more popular than Jay-z. Kobe is big worldwide and jay-z only in america. try to go to asia and ask for kobe or jay-z i bet you 100 percent of people would knw Kobe than jay-z . theres more people that watch basketball than listen to hip-hop.there is no debate.KObe wins. period

  • first of all jay-z is a rapper and yeah ofcourse they'll play his songs on the radio but Kobe bryant is known all over the world and he influences the youth. if they have a press conference th media will focus more on kobe then jay-z . If you travel all over the world and ask the people who kobe is they would say yes i knw him but if u ask about jay-z they would probably say who's that. because he's only big in america.

  • Lil dude has a point, Jay-Z's profession is basically speaking opinions and preferences, while Kobe's profession doesn't involve speaking his opinions and preferences. So based off of that yea Jay-Z has more influence on people through his craft.

But on the other hand more people know and accept Basketball than Hip-Hop, so if Kobe and Jay-Z were to have a press conference Kobe's opinions and preferences will be more influential because more people looks up to him.

  • EVERYBODY get off kobe dick HIP HOP has a WORLD WIDE INFLUENCE with its culture jay z kobe R U fuckin serious? jay z does shows all around the fuckin world and that shit sell out yeah kobe is known too but he aint bigger than hip hop or Jay Z. If you ask me the better question would of been MICHAEL JORDAN or Tupac

  • cut hair and shut the fuck up

  • to add to ur point. Rap is international now, that means local musicians will produce their own work, so Jay-Z, tho great, might not appeal to the greater market of that particular country, whereas if u catch sports or play bball, chances are u WILL know KOBE, besides, basketball is for all ages, but out of USA, rap is not a big market.

  • Who has more influence?

    Michael Jordan or Tupac Shakur

  • @jhnb91 tupac he was more outspoken

  • ur argument is only valid in the US. but in terms of the WORLD, MJ was far more influential, tupac had no influence outside US for the most part. but MJ transformed the world and brought appeal to the rest of the world to start playing bball. I grew up in Asia when jordan was in his prime and EVERYONE in asia knew abt jordan and loved him. but no one knew who Tupac was. Taiwan became crazy abt bball and Japan started multiple comics abt bball ALL coz of jordan. etc i can go on ~ just my opinion.

  • @jhnb91 THAT QUESTION is better than this one

  • what this guy is basically saying is more people tuned in the radio than the television because you would most likely find a radio more available than television shit cable or direct TV cost a lot nowadays and also a bit of receptions... another theory(basic) can be a lot of americans(black) prefer connecting with music as a habit making them feel good and motivated for an upgrade on their life the pros and cons or the subliminal messages Jayz touches the people young old black brown white etc.

  • spec this here... Kobe is a bigger known global icon. Why? China has like 1.3 billion people so since theyre dominant simply logically Kobe wins add the rest of the world and theres really not much to debate about lol.

  • my point is everyone in china knows about kobe he has the #1 selling jersey more than Yao!! If china acknowledges Kobe than the rest of the world fits in the same sentence. its a simple question! Nice topic by the way! Niggas these days!!!!

  • is new from 2 decades ago or so. jay z's music is for young aundiences, thats his main market. you dont see mid 40's or early 50's listening to his jayz music unless they are black and know the culture of hip hop but still is a very small market

  • lol jay z is not michael jackson which i think was the biggest artist and perhaps the most influencial celebrity of all times, whenever he came out to speak it was an event and we all know that this dude was known worldwide like no other arstist. Now having said that, Jay z is a famous rapper but when it comes to international influence, he is no where as big as an super star athlete, young adults will indentify more with athletes since sports have a long history as opposed to rap which history

  • @sababobobox I have to agree with florisvalent91. More people worldwide know of jay-z as a pose to Kobe. He is way more international. More people in the UK (where I'm from) know about Jay-Z than Kobe.

  • honestly, peace of shit !!!

that dude says that u can hear Jay-z , if u open up some journals u'll see Athletes, just go ahead and check celebrity top 100 and u can conclude this duscussion

  • I think in america it would be jay-z since

1, Most people understand and get what he is talking about.

    2. and lets me real a lot pep dont like kobe here.

But world wide i have no question kobe has the greater influence. I say that because he doesnt need to speak to have an influence. His work ethic and dedication to his game is just enough for people to work hard on their craft.

  • I also forgot to mention kobe speaks Italian and Spanish which makes him pretty international.

  • As a female, white American woman I neer watch TV let alone watch sports.... please....

Yes, I LOVE Jay-Z. His lyrics are enlighted words that help me out... Rappers can do more than athletes these days... I mean, great rappers, like Jay-Z is.

    Thank you.

    Victoria Haddad

  • buddy with the white pants shouldnt be able to comment cause them pants is tight as hell

  • man.. you talk to much get their hait cutt man

  • Kobe. When you here that name you think respect, pride, talent. Kobe doesn't have to talk. Jay z i give him much respect too but Kobe has that special power where he doesn't need to speak to get his message across. You can just watch him and be influenced. And lets face it White people, Asian People, Brown People and even older Black people there not really into that rap stuff but everybody is into sports no matter the race.

  • EVERYBODY KNOWS KOBE EVERYBODY NOt the same wti JAY Z LOL PLAIN n simple.plus rap isnt played on every station.basketball players are millions miles ahead then rap r u kiddin me ego yeah rappers would win in a minute lmao

  • that isn't true, I'm from Holland and I had only vaguely heard about this Kobe-person, whereas Jay-Z is very big here aswell as in the USA. Jay-Z is way bigger internationally, so maybe in the US of A Kobe's influence is bigger, but on a global scale Jay-Z is definately the one who reaches the most ears. :)

  • rockstars do, why everyone rockin skulls and crossbone clothing? sayin theyre rockstars?

  • first off rockstars have more influence then rappers.now who has more influence rockstars or nba players its close but i would have 2 say rockstars bc look at micheal jackson his been dead 4 a month n hes still allll over the tv hell if a rapper died ha its there 4 a few dayz then they arent on the news enymore n it aint a race thing so dont bring that shit up.rapper are 2 cocky n shit raps my fav music but they aint the biggest stars in music

  • Dude the hood don't know any rockstars, the rockstars wanna be like Jay-Z not Lebron or Kobe, a lot of people don't fuck with sports, but EVERYBODY fux with music, so I'd say any music artist holds more weight than an athlete, because they just play sports real well, but artist leave actual feelings with people when they connect.

  • lol but whos richer lol rappers sign 4million dollar contracts lol 4 3 yrs n shit lol lebron n kobe each make 30 mill atleast.lol hello we aint talkin bout the 'hood' we sayin everywhere theres more ppl in outside of the hood more ppl buy kobe shoes then jayz albums come on kobe cant fuck wit micheal elvis come on jay z n these rappers aint close 2 the influnce of basketball players

  • Man, Jay just did a 150 Million dollar deal, plus these ball players wanna be rappers, they get amped up off music to go out do what they do. Artists reach more people than Ball players period, the only athlete with more influence is Jordan. Kobe, 'Bron etc, them niggas is 2nd tier stars, they BIG, but they ain't Jordan status.

  • Lol, in your second statement you should of compared rock-stars to Athletes. Also, mj is a pop star, and probably the biggest pop star ever. If Michael Jordan was murdered it would be talked about for years also. Pac, a rapper is still talked about. It really matters the individual and how popular they are. Upcoming important deaths. Ali, Pele, Whitney Houston, Ozzie, Hugh hefner, Steve Nash, And Joel Osteen. Next 5-10 years.

  • lol micheal jackson will b rembered more then pac first between him n micheal it would b close but jackson wins.rappers think they r big lol drake sign wit cash money records a 7 year deal 4 4 million dollars lol even if he makes added money wit record sells he wouldnt even b makin money like marberry who was bein pay 20 mill 2 warm the bench rappers r 2 cocky yes rap is big but like rihnna 92 mill views on utube lol no rap song will ever get close jay z puffy 50 wayne get big money the rest nah

  • @tghetto5

Steve Nash? Why do you think Nash would die in the next 5-10 years?

  • did u just call michael jackson a rockstar, keep that trashy music away from us, michael jackson is the king of pop, were the hell did you get the idea hes a rockstar.

  • well more ppl (almost every human on earth) likes MUSIC, but not everybody likes basketball / sport

  • it relly depends how your original mindset is. if you like to express yourself and if ur from a worse place u would prollly fall into jay-z's grasp. plus rappers make trends ,rappers determine whats cool a basketball player just does what he does

  • are u kidding me, ARE U KIDDING ME, dam kobe>jay z by a billion

i like jay z's music and all but goddam not even a comparison

everyone i talked to knows who kobe is, but only 1/4 of the ppl i talk to konw who jay z is, and thats in california, america

if we go worldwide jay z is nothing compared to kobe

  • @azngothopz disagree

outside usa, no-one gives a fuck about kobe or basketball

jay z is played on the radio worldwide

  • @robskim101 no offense bro but u obviously don't know shit. kobe over the summer goes on tour all over the world. Lots of countries dont even have a firm grip of english in order to know what jay z is talking about, but the language of basketball is universal

  • @azngothopz no offense bro but you dont know anything

basketball is only big in america whereas jay's music surpasses language barriers

people outside america barely play basketball let alone know who kobe is

u realise foriegn countries listen to english music dont you?

finally, do some research u faggot before trying to look smart

  • @robskim101 first of all your claim that no1 outside the u.s knows about kobe is b.s which i gave u proof. You can see that shit all over youtube. Now they do listen to english music but how can they be influence by his lyrics if they dont understand it. I listen to tons of foreign songs and have not been influenced by them. Yes theyre catchy but that doesnt equate influence. And lets not insult "gays" by calling me a faggot. Its a fight between me and you lets not bring others into this.

  • @robskim101 I think both of yall are right and wrong because both Jay-Z and Kobe are worldwide. Kobe holds events in China all the time and he's is treated like royalty out there don't sleep on the game of BBall

  • @azngothopz lol well I would hope people in California know who Kobe is...thats like asking people in Illinois if they know who Michael Jordan is

  • @azngothopz of course everyone in California knows who Kobe is, its CALIFORNIA. but your talking about the infulence you can see. That isnt the overall influence.when Jay Z says in a song that Jerseys are no longer cool, that only reaches the people that listens to him, but then those people influence others, so its a domino effect that will affect people who dont even listen to Jay Z, I dont think Kobe has that effect on people who dont watch basketball.

  • Kobe has world wide influence.

Jay-Z has influence towards the youth and club bangers and limited to those who are into hip hop.

Jay-Z is rich, well-known, and well respected as a music tycoon and hip hop artist.

On the other hand, Kobe is a basketball LEGEND. On par with Jordan but perhaps not surpassed.. yet. Because people are only concerned with results, Kobe will have to win a couple more rings before he'll finally be accepted as the GOAT

  • @chopstikz127 : It doesnt matter what Kobe does he will NEVER EVER be considered the GOAT. MJ transended a culture, generation and ganared worldwide fam that other today are still chasing. It's because of him that they game is played as it is. Kobe is a second hand brand of that. Oh yeah, the biggest thing. MJ never sexually assaulted anyone and yes, KOBE STILL HASNT RECOVERED FINANCIALLY FROM THAT EVEN THOUGH HE IS DOING EXTREMELY WELL.

  • @chopstikz127 I'm from Britain. Nobody cares about Kobe. Nobody cares about Basketball outside the USA.

  • this guy is probably a broke ass dude

    i cant stand him

  • lol...they be roastin on here...wasnt this an mtv show at one point????

  • kobe is the best

  • if kobe not a ballhog of course i would go for kobe

  • its rappers overall point blank any body know that

  • Tight Vid. Yall need to check out Vthov's music though if you haven't... If you want to hear some good music, search "Vthov" and you won't be dissappointed. Straight up.

  • Jay-Z has MUCH more influence. He is known world wide. Basket ball is really only big in the US.

  • you are stupid as hell I know did not just say basketball is only big in the us .

  • You're an American, so I don't expect you to know otherwise, but the No.1 sport is Football, or as you call it....soccer.

Don't get me wrong, everyone has heard of basketball, but there is no NBA anywhere else in the world.

  • what you say about China? Is not basketball big in China? search for beijing videos where kobe was at the olympics they gave him a standing ovation. Also Kobe is the best of the world playing basketball. Rappers arent even good musicians, jay-z has the influence for sure but he just sells crap. Sorry about my english is not my main lenguage

  • "Rappers arent even good musicians"

Rappers rhyme. That means they're using WORDS. Jay-Z was head of Def-Jam Records. Kobe wasn't head of anything.

Jay-Z just sells crap, he said himself that if he said what Comman says, he wouldn't sell records. Plus, isnt Jay-Z richer.....

  • dont get me wrong, jay-z in probably much richer than kobe, and a better business man. that doesnt mean he is talented at all.

  • If Jay-Z's a better business man and is richer, doesn't that mean he IS talented, therefore has more influence than Kobe.

  • The athlete may be more popular but the artist has more influence. Athletes are influenced by rappers.

  • Rappers have more influence

  • lmao that spic keeps callin him lebron john

  • for niggas rappers have more influence. rappers influence athletes.

  • MEN

  • i live in amsterdam and people here know who kobe bryant is we do not know who jay-z is.

  • This video is aight, Yall need to check on this new independent artist named Vthov. Search "Vthov Original Song" and youll see what I mean. Fiyah.

  • Jay z in USA okay, but worldwide definitely Kobe Bryant, look at olympic games in Chiina every body were looking at him and not only chinese but also other athletes like soccer player or swimmer

  • athletes have more viewers than rappers sell cds you do the math i mean a guy like kobe who is known world wide who little kids wanna be like kids evryone more people would rather be a proffesional athlete than a rapper but jayz is one of the few rappers that could reach people because u could see it people want to dress like him they like is style

  • I guess it all depends on what part of the world you live in and that statement was more humorous than harmful learn to luagh

  • whos more famous between them 2 its kobe ask ppl around the world.whos will they know its kobe

  • who would listen to Kobe anyway hed probally get you in trouble for messing with some random white woman why in the world would I listen to him man rappers are heard more than any ball player and definitely are being heard and respected in the black community and thats just how it is in the hood

  • theres always an idiot like u saying something stupid out of content

  • theres always an idiot like u saying something stupid out of content my reply to warrenjason

  • so ur saying only in the black commmunity, while kobe has influences not only in black but every other community as well

  • Jay Z all the way. No one cares about what kobe does outside of the court

  • definally is jaz-z becouse he is a reporter in a diferent way he ones the microfone. just

  • simply i think rappers can reach for people in north america whereas kobe or athletes could reach more people worldwide.

  • Its a numbers game. It is only a handful of rappers that garner that much respect in what they say. Atheletes have more numbers, just look at all of the sports. And who are we talking about as far as listeners.....just street dudes or folks who like rap. An athelete can cross over into other aspects of life not just rap listeners.....

Think about athletes like Authur Ashe, Jackie Robinson, Jim Brown...compared to what rappers.......Chuck D, Russell Simons and Puffy.....

    Think about it

  • lmfao the guy in the background is like "he probably don't even know who Jay-z is" LOL

  • Rappers have more influence because everyone dont wanna be a basketball player.. ppl relate to Jay-Z & wat he says but everybody dot watch sports...U hear music everyday allday but u dont watch a basketball everyday or watch sports.. Althetes may be a better influence

  • What people dont understand is because atheletes are always trying to sell their products or their game they can not speak honestly about issues or take a stance, in fear that they will offend their customers.

Rappers dont have to worry about that so they say what they want.

Lebron kept his mouth shut anout Dafur because he was worried about his fans.

  • Excellent point..

  • Why focus so heavly on division?Because at the end of the day, I'd respect Magic Johnson decision the same as Russell Simmons'. The same way Jay Z might influence people to vote Kobe might influence people to go to school.

  • interesting chatter.

  • DONT EVER CALL THAT USELESS Jay Z

NAME AGAIN I HATE HIM THANKS

  • it would be amazing if you post vids every week from here or something

  • we will be coming with it thanks

  • yup! It'S THE ROC!

the medium that rappers or just any artist/musician have is much greater than any athlete.

In regards to influences, artist can talk about many subjects with their interviews whereas, most of the interviews with athletes they only talk about what their offense, defense and stats are going to be. They rarely get asked any other questions.

  • rappers

  • dis guy is a jerk

  • Jay-Z may be all over the radio but that doesn't mean people are listening to him....maybe they wanna listen to another song.On the other side Kobe is on tv and people turn on the tv to watch him play because they wanna watch him play.

  • Wow, once again THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE OR TOPIC!

The topic is who is more INFLUENTIAL (in this case who if they said "Go out and vote" would make more of an impact). Kobe is on TV doing exactly what you said, PLAYING BASKETBALL. Jay-Z is on the radio, tv, internet etc relaying his messages all day long. Kobe is not being sought after for his political advice. People respect his game and nonthing more. Jay-Z is the voice of the hood. Kobe doesn't have the outlet to relay his messages.

  • Kobe!!!- Jayz isnt even as good as he says he is ahahaha

  • is this a serious comparison? musicians have a MUCH bigger influence. they can talk about their message openly, as far as sport stars, do they even have a message to get out there?

  • the main dude talkin need to get off jay-z dick got damn

  • im just backing my point homeboy jay z and kobe was the 2 the dj from jump off tv asked the question bout

  • RAPPERS..THATS IT

  • lol guy in the green shirt knows what hes talkin about

  • something to talk about

  • If Jordan was to speak and Jay z were to speak, Jordan transcends every race and every religion. Lets be honest, Jay Z would reach a smaller amount of people as he transcends less boundaries. Alot of peole believe that they could rap good given the chance, but they no they could never be as good as a Jordan or a Kobe.

  • Actions speak louder than words.

  • majority of people in the whole south eastern and western plus west coast plus mid west dnt like jay z, black people dnt buy or listen to jay z songs, lil wayne 1ox better den jay z, fuck jay z 10x. roca wear gets him his money and appearing on t.v and mags.

  • dude KOBE STRAIGHT UP! that dude changed his wording at the end! and influence wise it's KOBE cuz he inspires and let ppl ove bball and make them want to be like him and try and play and you could get better. but jay-z even if you like him you are tone death you CAN"T RAP! and KOBE plays in OLYMPICS!!! ALL STAR! jay-z is jus a famous rapper in USA! no where else! lots of ppl hate jay-z cuz one of his song if you play it bakword its like .WTF that's ALL SATAN!

  • there ignorant because they assume america is the entire world.

people in europe dont know who the fuck jay-z is, but an athlete like kobe is a worldwide role model.

  • WTF?

few in the uk know who kobe is, everybody knows jayz

  • but i would rather watch kobe bryant that listen to jay z, and if he came on the radion half the people would turn it off

  • An athlete is better known around the world!!!Jay-z is the best rapper, but in places like argentina or spain people don't even know him!!!rap music cannot compete with a sport!!!

  • good point

  • don't know

Kobe is a star of the NBA which is an only American League + Toronto I think.

    Music is universal.

  • Kobe Bryant is more publicly known world wide but Jay Z like that guy said has stronger influence because people follow him. Whether they know this or not doesn't matter. Jay does business and associates with people like Bill Gates and other big CEOs. Im pretty sure almost none of you heard of the Bilderberg Group but they most definitely have stronger influence in your lives than Jay-Z or any other celebrity you could name.

  • for me,,,,its still KOBE...

    worldwide baby!!

  • i love this show

  • honestly, I think its the rappers because like other people are saying you hear them more than the athletes. You hear the rappers having more of a powerful message and also the rappers clever rhyming abilities. This sticks out to the audience more than athletes. Getting into the NBA is really challenging compared to being a rapper.

  • Let me put it like this $200 shoes or a $200 CD, Kobe shoes vs Jay Z CD, and see who goes Plat. first, better yet let them both sign their product and see which one holds the most value thru the eyes of the consumer....

  • Ok another comment that makes no sense. What's the point of what your saying. $200 shoes vs $200 CD???? What are you talking about. The conversation has nonthing to do with that. It's about who would be able to influece more people (in this case by saying "Go out and vote").

  • both nba players and rappers have similar backgrounds. they come from the same backgrounds.

  • 1st of all Jay-z outside of North America is unknown 2 most. Kobe is known worldwide. Did you watch him in Bejing last summer? They treated him like Michael Jackson back in the 80's. Kobe gets treatment like that everywhere he goes. Athletes have way more influence than Rappers period. Michael Jordan was the biggest of them all. I'm not sure what that guy in the video was talking about but Kobe doesn't even have to say a word. His actions speak for themselves. That's how powerful he is!

  • Wow...After your first sentence it's obvious you don't have a complete grasp on this conversation. Jay-Z is mostly only known in North America??? Wow, I'm done talkin to this guy.

  • 1st of all Jay-z outside of North America is unknown 2 "most". That's what I said. The name Jay-z is not exactly popular for the majority of people living abroad. Kobe is! Kobe has more of an influence period. Basketball is a universal lauguage & everyone knows it. Done talking 2 u lol...

  • Son, first of all outside of the USA basketball is not even that big of a sport, Soccer (Fut'bol) is the sport of the world so you obviously have no idea what your talking about. Second, You must not know anything about the hiphop if you think that it's not a universal language, matter of fact forget language, it's a CULTURE.

  • Hiphop influences the way people speak, walk, act and dress (ball players dress like rappers) among other things. As a matter of fact, HIPHOP IS SO INFLUENTIAL THAT KOBE TRIED TO MAKE A RAP ALBUM! LOL

  • Richard, relax son you don't have a graps on the topic. No need to try to pretend like you do.

  • Son LMAO. Thats 2 funny. Basketball is not a big sport outside of USA lmao. That's why there offering big contracts 2 NBA players to come play over sees lol. Basketball is bigger than Hip-hop music abroad. Its a fact! I'm pretty sure no one has ever said I wanna Be like Jay-z. You've heard people say I wanna Be Like Mike or Kobe or Lebron. Son LMAO again lol...

  • Nope, it's not that big compared to Soccer (Fut'bol). Basketball worldwide is like Soccer in America, people like it and play it but it's not the biggest thing.

And wow, this man said nobody ever says they want to be like Jay-Z. Once again you obviously know NONTHING about HipHop. Jay-Z is worth more almost a Billion dollars (more than Jordan and Kobe COMBINED).

Somebody ban this man from speaking on hiphop again. 1

  • I can show u 1000's of videos of people that say they wanna b Like Mike or Kobe, show me 1 On Jay-z? lmao. I bet any money they rather be like Mike or Kobe, than Jay-z. Bball players can be rappers but Rappers can't be bball players lol. I never said basketball was bigger than Soccer overseas clown lol. Basketball abroad is bigger than soccer in the U.S clown. Your an idiot 4real, where's your membership Idiot badge lol. Hi, I'm Justfar1030 & I'm an Idiot. This message is paid for By me...

  • 1st, I know what you said. Your saying basketball is bigger than Hiphop worldwide and I'm proving IT'S NOT because it's not even THAT big outside the U.S. to begin with. EVERYONE that knows sports knows this. 2nd, I never said 1000's of people don't want to be like Kobe. I'm telling you that YOU'RE WRONG if you think millions of people don't want to be like Jay-Z. 3rd, show me 1 ball player that was successful at rapping. 4th, YOU DON'T KNOW HIPHOP or SPORTS and your a GROWN MAN calling names.

  • Bball is bigger than Hip-hop. They fill da stands up every nite where Hip-hop does not. Hiphop is weak since Pac/Biggie died. Its mostly disney land rap now. Wanna B like Jay-z? Show me 1 link 2 where I can C that. B like Jay-z bcause they wanna B with Beyonce, yes that's true lol. Shaq was successful, 6 albums I think even know I didn't like him that much but 6 is more than most lol. I know Hiphop & sports. Show me that Clown badge U got, U crack me up lol. C U at the circus, later clown lol

  • Wow, so now hiphop doesn't fill the stands? Aww man, SERIOUSLY the more you talk the more you prove you don't know about hiphop culture. Rappers like Jay-Z, T.I. Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Eminem etc, sell out stadiums all over the world. AS A MATTER OF FACT, JAY-Z HOLDS THE RECORD FOR FASTEST SELL OUT OF TICKETS AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN (NYC), IN HISTORY. I'm not finding you a link, if you knew hiphop you owuld know plenty of people wan't to be like Jay-Z. He's damn near a billioniare.

  • Shaq was successful? 6 albums that all sold what? 10 copies?. Regardless of what you think about hiphop being weak since Pac/Biggie died is all OPINION and has no bearing on the conversation. Most of the people I know want to play basketball like Kobe Bryant, but they want to BE like Jay-Z. There is a difference.

PS: You still don't know hiphop (or sports really), keep talking so people can see.

  • Shaq actually went platinum twice, and gold twice, out of his 6 albums. I think that's what you call success clown lol. I know way more than you about sports & hiphop. Your obviously a clown who runs a circus, so stick to that job. Your good at making people laugh. More people rather be Like Kobe than Jay-z, bet on that clown lol. Hiphop has been weak since pac/biggie except for Eminem. Anyway, see you at the circus clown lmao...

  • I see you didn't get your information for a legit source. You took that quote from off a blog site caled GAMEWRECKGAME. Not only did you do that you copied and pasted that from a guy there named Danny Abelson. I'll post the link if you say I'm lying.

But anyway, no he didn't. Shaq's first album "Shaq Diesel" went Platinum. His2nd album "Shaq Fu" BARELY went gold. and the rest of his albums flopped. Check Nielson Soundscan for verification (the REAL source of album sales).

  • So in all actually Shaq was a one hit wonder (or one album wonder). The last time he saw gold was 94' (it's 2009). And on top of all this, 95% of the hiphop community DOES NOT RESPECT SHAQ AS AN EMCEE (your in the 5%).

  • So quick recap. YOU SAID:

Basketball is bigger than hiphop worldwide (which outside the US most people don't care and they watch soccer)

Nobody wants to be like Jay-Z (though he's practically a billionaire)

Rappers can't fill stands at concerts (when they actually sell out areas worldwide)

Shaq was a successful rapper (when he flopped the majority of his career)

You go to random sites and copy and paste quotes from others to prove your point. ANYTHING ELSE?

  • No-No clown. I said Athletes are bigger than Hiphop artist. I didn't say nobody wants to be like Jay-z, I said more rather be Kobe or Lebron "Athletes in general"! Rappers don't sell areans like Sports Venues do, 30000 or more fans every nite. Shaq flopped when he went platinum LOL! Copy & Paste LOL..Here's 1, Your an idiot clown. Go Back to the circus Ronald Mcdonald lol..

  • How can you deny something that is already in writing?

"Bball is bigger than Hip-hop. They fill da stands up every nite where Hip-hop does not." "1st of all Jay-z outside of North America is unknown 2 "most"." "Its a fact! I'm pretty sure no one has ever said I wanna Be like Jay-z." - Quote RichardDaLionheart

  • R U tellin me if U go outside of the U.S & ask people who is Jay-z, they'll know rite away? No! You'll have 2 say the Hiphop artist, then maybe they'll figure it out. If U ask any1 about Kobe, they know rite away. I said no 1 has ever said they wanna B like Jay-z? Show me a commercial or video where it says that? I'm sure there some out there would like 2b like Jay-z but U don't hear it as much as Kobe! Hiphop does not fill stands like Bball. Look at the #'s & compare, then talk. CLOWN!

  • Did you copy and paste that too? What #'s? There is no way to truly compare popularity of the 2 unless you ask the whole world. Do you have the world's email addresses? And YES, once again ANYBODY THAT KNOWS HIPHOP knows it's influence WORLDWIDE as well as the BIGGEST NAME IN IT CURRENTLY (arguably of alltime). Also ONCE AGAIN, Hiphop concerts SELL OUT WORLDWIDE.

NO NBA game or event has EVER sold out Madison Square Garden in ONE DAY...EVER.

Jay-Z did with his Fade to Black concert.

  • You are by Farr the biggest clown I've ever seen lol. Seriously. When I say compare #'s, compare the crowd every nite for every game to every artist to when they perform dumbass lol. I can promise u Soulja Boy or Shawty Lo don't sell out lol but I can promise the worst team in the NBA can lol. Your an idiot if you think Hiphop artist has more of an influence the athletets. MSG has never sold out in a NBA game LMAO....Seriously, go back 2 the circus lol...Your an idiot by FARR lmao..

  • Man, I'm done talking to you. Your childish, ignorant and misinformed on what you speak of yet continue to embarrass yourself.

That's easy to say when you pick 2 relatively new and GARBAGE artists in the game. However, if you picked someone more established (not even neccessarily the best but nontheless ESTABLISHED) like Luda, T.I., Jeezy, Lil Wayne, etc? you would see that they DO infact sell out venues WORLDWIDE.

I said MSG has never sold out a game/event in a day, don't misquote me

  • By the way, the NBA grosses about $4Billion annually. Do you know what else grosses $4Billion annually?

    HIPHOP. (look it up)

    I'm done.

  • You know what grosses me, YOU lol. More people enjoy watching an NBA game than listening 2 some of these lame artist of 2day like Soulja Boy to Shawto Lo & allot more I can name but I only have so many Characters. Only artist that are real are Jay-z, Eminem, LL Cool J & kanye West. The rest need to stop! Anyway, it was fun YAWN!!!!

  • I'm sorry richarddalionheart but u r wrong. Im from the UK so i know that Jay-Z is well known. Hip Hop is ALOT more global than the NBA. Kobe is not that well known in countries where basketball. The last time i saw kobe's face on tv was during the olympics Jay-Z is always on the music channels both hihop and mainstream. Which is a shame cos i quite enjoy basketball. The only baller ever with that kind of international star status is MIchael Jordan

  • I do believe athletes have more of an influence than Hiphop artist do. I just believe people would rather be famous athletes than famous rappers. I know I would & there's other that would agree. But that's just my opinion though. Only reason I would want 2b Jay-z over an Athlete is because he's married 2 Beyonce lmao...I'll rather listen to what athletes say than hiphop Artist..

  • i agree with Nasylo

jayz has more influence at this moment

but potentially kobe has got more influence because of the type of media that dominates

ok im out i enjoyed this convo/ debate its good stuff thats what we need in this world

im young but i have a voice its all gd
