its called i farm spots that arent over farmed, and that few people know about so ANET hasnt nerfed the drops or anything yet, but thats just one part. it took me olny a week to get the money for my ritualist Obsidia armor
A N/Mo does have very low armor. I haven't played in a long time, so, honestly, I can't remember what #3 is, lol! I posted the build code below if you want to check it out yourself.
I haven't been playing GW for about 3 months lately just b/c I've been involved with volunteering for a political campaign. I might jump on at some point, so if you'd like to meet for pointers I'm more than willing.
Farming was nerfed by ANet a good while ago. It's not that they're against farming in general; just the people that farm gold to sell for real-world money.
So don't get mad at ANet, report obvious gold-bots to ANet.
they nerfed solo farming, its actualy best to farm w/ 8 people and split the loot in a civilised wway. Bu still, geting a descent farming party together is such a pain that solo is still common
Possibly... but I doubt it. The healing you get from IP happens only AFTER you take a hit. With ten hydras, that's an instant 50 hp drop. I don't really feel like taking that chance when you can't monitor at ALL how the interrupts are going to unfold with that many foes.
Beyond that, it has been generally proven that killing more of one type of foe at the same time usually yields less loot.
This was discovered when recording statistics in the UW on smite runs. Ectos drops were MUCH higher when groups of 3-5 were killed at the same time versus several groups at once (9-15 smites).
Possibly, but the thing is, you don't need the extra healing if you time your spells correctly (between interrupts). Plus, SS only takes their health down to a certain point, without actually killing them; 1 single cast of Suffering handles that problem once.
So it boils down to only 1 set cast of SS and Suffering to bring down any group of Hydras. With your suggestion, either two SS's would need to be cast or Insidious Parasite would need to be cast on each Hydra in addition to SS. So, really, your method isn't really as efficient, and would take longer for your energy to refresh in between mobs.
Also, the real problem I have with using Spirit Bond is that if you refresh the enchant before it starts to blink, the actual time it is effective does not reset to 8 seconds, but rather the time you had left before your recast the enchantment. This can lead to a false sense of security and so can cause real problems.
So, if you're in a bind and Healing Breeze was interrupted (b/c you weren't paying attention to the interrupts) a quick cast of Shielding Hands works wonders. You'll take ZERO damage and have it in effect long enough to get Healing Breeze back on you.
I know there are different variations of this build for different circumstances, but when it comes to Hydra Farming, there is no better build for a N/Mo than I have here.
This is my build template code: OANGQSFmccnfG1DkrMPsRkyTfA I am wielding a Wailing Wand of Memory 11-22 (Q9 Curses) HSR of Curses Spells (20%) Inscription: Eng+5 (while health is >50%) [You can sub this for a Totem Axe if you choose, and a weapon that provides +5 eng indefinitely is even better] I am also wielding Villnar's Glove: Eng+12 (Q9 Curses) Curses+1 (20%) HSR Curses Spells (20%)
Also note, the doubling-up of HSR does not actually add to a 40% chance. I'm not sure how GW has this work, but it comes out to greater than 20%, but less than 40%.
Notes: Taking on 2-4 hydras at one time is best. Facing one at a time will make energy management hard, and fighting 5+ will cause too much damage for Healing Breeze and Shielding hands to negate. (Not to mention all the extra interrupts...)
If you have questions about this build, post them here. I'm more than willing to help you out! =)

hmmm, what runes would you need for this?, and.. do you just use a totem axe and a -55 cesta?
jokazkiller 3 years ago
all you need iss up runes on all your armor so twice the same rune and -50 grim cesta.
quentinrichard 3 years ago
from what i can see, the build is
1protective spirit
2healing breeze
3?
4SS
5Suffering
6mending
7balthazars spirit
8essence bond
Whats the 3rd one? Spirit bond would only make any sense if you have very low armour.

how many cash are u doing in 1 run
ThomKiller 4 years ago
About 1.5k in gold + regular white and blue items, and then you have a decent chance of getting one or more of the following per run:
Lockpick
Elementalist Tome (non-elite)
Gold Weapons/ Shields
Desicrated Hydra Claws (which you can trade for weapons with a collector and then sell them to players)
snrfrito 4 years ago
Once you get good at fighting, pulling, and get to know the patrol routes you can take out all hydra on the run in about 15 mins.
So after an hour, I average 6k plus 4-5k depending on gold/lockpick/etc drops.
snrfrito 4 years ago
If you use insidious parasite and Spiteful spirit, you can handle up to 10 hydra's at once.

Well okay, I don't doubt that you can do it... just that it's not as efficient as tackling several smaller groups at a faster pace.
