  • The Daleks are interesting looking space soldiers, though they are not as invincible as they make themselves to be. I have seen Daleks get destroyed by Nitro 9.

You could also defeat them by throwing a blanket over them so they can't see properly, and they start to panic and go crazy . Then beat the shit out of them .

  • great job, lad! VERY creepy!

  • whats that music from please tell me can u get it on i tunes

  • scary

  • An alien race that move best on flat, smooth ground, so what do they do? Blast the streets to rubble.

  • Beautiful!

  • That was scary, no joke!!! But amazing!

  • Totally fabulous!

  • Excellent work! I really enjoyed watching it. Thanks for sharing.

  • You can get Daleks Invasion Earth 2150AD on DVD frm Forbidden Planet or online. My mate says you can now download it, but I wouldn't know much about that. I've got it on VHS and DVD. And I've got the originals too! Great stuff for a DW enthusiast.

    Jay xx

  • how gay.

  • @leeho98 Show some respect you troll.

  • The second i heard the music i wanted to watch the Daleks Master Plan then i remembered...

  • Lovely stuff. But why did you tidy up New York City? It looks much worse than your depiction of it right now - without any Dalek invasion at all. :)

  • Wow. How old is this?

  • A beautiful film. I really liked the way the design of the Dalek saucers subtly and very cleverly references the “flying hub-caps” in the original. A far better design than the versions in the CGI extra on the DVD. Now if only someone could come up with a design that matches Spencer Chapman’s wonderful studio sets.

  • ....The Daleks should thank us for building roads for them to travel around, doesn't look like they'd do much good on bumpy grass and all that Ha-ha.

  • Fucking Daleks!!

  • Very nice. But really needs more than 4 or 5 Daleks in a shot though. Pour on the Daleks!

  • Fantastic and genuinely creepy. If only effects (and budgets) could have stretched to this in 1964!

  • This is is a really neat idea

  • is this a real episode?if so what is it called cos it seems EPIC WIN

  • The Dalek Invasion is probably Terry Nation's most memorable script. The bit I remember from when I first saw it when it came out on VHS, is the sequence where Dortmun gets out of his wheelchair which then runs away from him and he stands his ground and starts throwing his grenades at the Daleks but they are innefective and the Daleks turn around and exterminate him,

    Bastards.

  • 2:33 Now the Daleks are in trouble!

  • This invasion is so much better then that one from "Journeys end"

  • The good old invasion of Earth. Journey's End was a rip off from this episode.

  • Not sure if I've already commented on this but I adore this video, really wish it was part of the special features on the DVD. Great work - As always.

  • "We are the masters of Earth."

    "Now what?"

    "Be-e-e-e-e-a-a-a-a-a-a-ch party."

  • Amazing prequel to the story!

  • nice

  • This is pretty cool, you should make more! :)

  • Very eerie.

    Good work.

  • I must say, the design of the Daleks in this story are my favorite from the 60's (other than the one used in Power and Evil of the Daleks)

  • Wow. It's too bad they didn't have the budget to do the kind of ships you've animated. The 'flying hubcaps' they had in the original makes me laugh every time I see it.

  • Really well done...bravo old chap! Has the dvd arm of the beeb seen these? You should re-do all the spfx on the orginal series! Great job! At the very least these shots should earn you a spot on the restoration team!

  • Daleks.....uber.....ALLES!

  • Erie music. Great scenery. Nice job.

  • I thought the dalek invasion of Earth was in the year 2000! Is there more than one?

  • The original TV version of The Dalek Invasion of Earth has a probable date of 2167 based on dialogue from The Daleks' Master Plan. The Invasion having started 10 years earlier. The film version was set in 2150 AD.

  • also in a cd of dr who of which i cant remember the name...(oops i seem to have lost it) it has a story about the invasion of earth starting 10 years earlier...i must be the #1 dr who fan =)

  • @themindrobber

Though I doubt anyone was making calanders during the invasion, like the one Ian and the Doctor found in that old warehouse.

  • did you hear that from Genesis of the Daleks? The Doctor lied about that.

  • Ye , I saw Genesis before the Daleks invasion of Earth but now I've got the DVD of it

  • You might have seen the old trailer for the story, which said was 2000.

  • @LordRammasus yes acutely because the daleks invaded earth then and many years later during episode 3 of day of the daleks one of them said we have invaded earth again so there are more invasions

  • Good historically accurate documentary. Nice to see CGI adressing real issues for a change, instead of depicting fantasy material such as a world free of the dalek threat.

  • That's actually pretty cool. The water lapping at the end was inspired.

  • naughty naughty daleks

  • you rock dude!!!

You are a legend among all doctor who fans.

  • it might not mean anything but this is the 10th story of doctor who

  • This is fantastic, would've been an amazing extra on the DVD! Although I reckon the end should have faded to the Roboman taking a swandive into the Thames

  • Well done!

  • i love this vid gud that it shows how it happened rather than hearing wat happened, kwl!

  • Your animations are A all the way & I crave the music, especially when the meteors crashed into earth. ~EXTERMINATE~ ~EXTERMINATE~ Excuse me a moment . Take that & that..~ZAP,zap~ Get back you one eyed, tin plated, pepper pot. Take that. Now were was I,~ZAP~Ahaaaaa ~WE ARE THE MASTERS OF EARTH, WE ARE THE MASTERS OF EARTH, WE ARE THE MASTERS OF EARTH~

  • It's gorgeous! Sould be added to the front of the DVD version - inspired!

  • subtly, the saucers make their approach. even the explosions on the planets surface seem strangely muted. the planets inhabitants are doomed. the saucers portholes slide open to reveal their diabolical crew, the new masters of Earth....

yeah i know ive already posted the same thing twice before - i'm lazy...

  • This should be added to a new DVD release. Far superior to the BBC's upgrades.

  • But the BBC's 'upgrades' are meant to look authentic.

  • True, but this sort of thing adds IMHO immensely to the older stories. You always have the option on the DVD's to watch the original effects etc. You could have special editions with added scenes like this in addition to the effects as an option as well.

  • Cool Vid

  • I was gonna say "Nukem till they glow "but now that the Doctor is here. I can hold off for awhile.

  • Very well done. Impressive

  • cool! one of my favourite episodes!

  • Wow, Gav - I never saw this one before. You're twisted but brilliant. It's so menacing!!! Well done, hon!!

  • good work amazing!

  • WOW! How did you make that?!

  • It is forbidden to dump bodies in the river.

  • Its scenes like this that make me want to watch the classics again. Thanks, great video :)

  • Mate. I reccomend you sign up to 2Entertain. They could use a man of your talents to reconstruct all lost Doctor Who episodes, like the 10th Planet with the cybermen.

  • Well done!

  • Really good work. Loved the TARDIS turning up at the end - you know the Daleks are in for an ass kicking.

  • great stuff

  • this was really great it gave me that wonderful tingle that I get every time I see a Dalek keep up the good work

  • 5 stars. :-)

  • That was absolutely fantastic!

  • it is verie SCERIE!! the daleks look good.

  • The Supreme Dalek is only half black at the start because the BBC didn't finish painting him in time.

  • Not quite. The 'Saucer Commander' was painted partially black in order to create an extra leader class of Dalek different to the black Dalek which appears later. Also, some fans persist on repeating the myth that this Dalek was red and silver, but there is no evidence to support this - so it was black and silver until can be proven otherwise.

  • I love the Dalek Invasion of the Earth! You've really captured how the initial invasion would have played out. Hmm...imagine what a good New Who double-parter that would make.

  • amazing video, kinda like war of the worlds meets doctor who :)

  • You did this a year ago and I'm sorry it's taken so long for me to see it -- beautifully done and a real tribute to the classic era of the show. And while a quick find/search shows me that others have pointed it out, "celebrating 160 years" banner is fantastic and brought a huge smile to face. Best of all, it felt simultaneously like a modern fanboy wink yet also just like the tone of the Hartnell era (it reminds me of the 2164 office calendar the Doctor and Ian find in Episode 1). Great work!

  • This creepy video is being featured in a section of the forum formerly known as OG!

P.S.-love how the ending gives a ray of hope!

  • Really, really well done. Excellent!

  • Just found this through the Dr Who forum. Absolutely brilliant!!!!

  • Certainly has a "Dalek Invasion of Earth" feel to it, compared the the actual story, which has a "Dalek Invasion of London" feel to it.

  • Brilliant video! I agree that the BBC should have liscenced this from you and put it on the DVD... This is quality work!

  • Very, very excellent work. This would have been a worthy inclusion on the "Dalek Invasion" DVD! Fantastic.

  • nice, really like the sounds

  • that is fantastic, how did you do it?

  • very good how many times have the daleks tried to invade Earth now and have failed??

  • Wow, honestly - very cool!

  • Oh look Germany, EXTERMINIEREN!! LOL!!

  • love it

  • Great work! Always wanted to write a story set in the early days of the Invasion. :)

  • BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well done, deserves to be on the wonderful DVD release.

a perfect set for the serial

  • a masterpiece

  • I love this - wish it was on the dalek invasion of earth dvd as an extra

  • Fantastic!!!Exellent work. That must have took ages to make.

  • Absolutely Marvellous. Utterly in keeping with the Hartnell era in every way. Bravo!

  • Very well done, nice and subtle. Good work thanks

  • that was fantastic, and had all the eerieness of the 60's too.

  • does anyone know where i can see the old vesion of the film on the internet??

  • It's available on DVD.

  • Google search Surfthechannel, thats got loads of TV/Movies, might be there

  • super work!

  • Woh...EXCELLENT effects for the 60's.

  • Hehe...I love jokes.

  • Very, very well done! I don't give out five stars willy-nilly either. And 'shot' in a way which would fit in with the style of the broadcast episode. George Lucas take note ;)

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • absolutely stunning, excellently executed, well done

  • olny five daleks apper to have conqed the earth,a black dalek with his two follers and two daleks in london

  • and about 10000+ bombing in their ships...

  • That is simply stunning....very atmospheric and beautifully rendered. Could happily watch an entire story of that quality...

  • Excellent work.

  • Very good but out of date now - we'll all be dead by 2157 thanks to Islamic terrorism and global warming.

  • <_< Sorry did I hear your right? ISLAMIC TERRIOSM. That's sorta racist there a lots of terrorists it's only because the USA is a christian country that they're are given that label. Also it's only 2% of muslims that are loyal to alkeida. It's also unlikely they'd be the reason the world ended.

  • what a talent! more please!!

  • thats absolutely awesome. I hope that one day missing Dalek stories such as The Dalek Master Plan and Evil of the Daleks are remade in animation like they did with The Invasion. There is something about Black and White Daleks that makes them so much better.

  • utterly BILLIANT MATE! well done!

  • Woah... this is creepy... Well done! I think that's the scariest the Daleks have ever been!

  • Oh, that was simply FANTASTIC!! And very chilling. I remember the original story from my childhood and it was a classic. I loved the inclusion of the New Wembley Stadium and the 160 Years banner, very clever. All seemed lost until a mysterious old man with long white hair arrived with his three companions. Brilliant stuff.

  • subtly, the saucers make their approach. even the explosions on the planets surface seem strangly muted. the planets inhabitants are doomed. the saucers portholes slide open to reveal their diabolical crew, the new masters of Earth....

you are so chuffin' creative 'n' clever 'n'... sh*t

  • The saucer over the Colloseum is amazing!!

  • That was amazing & scary! I wish this extra was on the DVD!

  • yeah it would be a brilliant extra

  • Excellent job.

  • is this from the real thing? or remake?

  • Cloverfield's got nothing on this! Excellent stuff.

There is a new petition for the return of the Police Box to help fight street crime. It's on the Number 10 website, but you have to be a UK resident to sign it.

  • Sweet...

    EXTERMINATE!!!

  • Wow! 5 stars , i really enjoyed that . Excellent!

  • Lovely work.

I'd love to see scenes like these edited into the episodes.

A labour of love with wonderful attention to detail.

  • brilliant

  • Looks like something the Daleks finally got away with it. guess the good Doctor was off fighting the Cybermen or Yeti or some such.

  • That was cool, what with the scenes of destruction. Good intro to the serial.

  • if only this was a real movie

  • subtly, the saucers make their approach. even the explosions on the planets surface seem strangly muted. the planets inhabitants are doomed. the saucers portholes slide open to reveal their diabolical crew, the new masters of Earth....

you are so chuffin' creative 'n' clever 'n'... sh*t

  • lol "celebrating 160 years"

  • Oh wow simply excellent!

  • I love it, especially with the TARDIS materialises at the end, you just get the the feeling that everything will be alright.

  • Fabulous work once more. May I ask where does the soundtrack come from.

  • They're all incidental tracks from The Daleks Masterplan.

  • Well done I must agree, my only quibble is that the Dalek saucers could look a bit more like the ones from the series (i.e. 'The Parting of the Ways'). Have you seen the optional CGI effects on 'the Dalek Invasion of Earth Dvd'? Those new cgi saucers look pretty similar to the ones in the 'Parting of the Ways'.

  • Well if you want a fannish explaination, you could just say that the saucers in this clip are their full blown planetary invasion warships. While the ones in the episode were just cargo ships for hauling equipment and dealing with small scale human uprisings. And why should they look alike? There was about 200,000 yers between 'Invasion', and 'Parting'. Obviously Daleks ships have gone through a few design changes.

  • True enough, but with Daleks being Time-Travellers and all its hard to accurately gauge their time-line... Have you seen the Saucers for the new 'Stolen Earth'? They look slightly different, as I assume Davros has made some modifications to their design... Either way I am psyched! Davros Rules!

  • Great, keep up the good work!

  • we HAVE to get you a job at the BBC! :)

  • Fantastic ,That was really Good

  • Wonderful stuff indeed.

  • You need go the RT forum and show off you're fantastic work!

  • Another fantastic piece... and that's coming from someone who hates CG!

The problem with epic Doctor Who stories (and definitely TV nowadays) is the lack of establishing shots from around the world. You have adressed this problem magnificently.

This should really be on the Invasion of Earth DVD as a bonus feature.

  • Very spooky - great job!

  • tourists, seeing the sites.

  • This is great , thou i am dissapointed that the Daleks ships dont match the CGI versions as seen on the Dalek Invasion of Earth DVD .

    Cheers , Jason [ Doctor Who One ] .

  • Astounding CGI.You should work on the DVDs or even the series itself this is amazing. My favourite bit was the view high above London. Your wonderfull shots actually help the story to feel much more scary and threatening than the original episodes actually were. Absolute genius.

  • Excellent work Mind Robber. You captured the descriptions in the episodes very well. It could be better if you included some fighting. Like poeple off-screen shooting at the Daleks, and the Daleks returning fire.

  • thanks for the comments on my little vid

    this one is great too

i think 3d exteriors would work better than stock photos, but i know how long that would take....belive me

also the very end under the bridge is nice...thats what i was going to do next u bugger

  • It's really good, but I think you should of filmed some background plates rather then using stills.

  • The budget didn't stretch to going round the world filming capital cities... (although I did take the Eiffel Tower photo myself)... ;-)

If I'd used film/video of real places then aside from the change to just being an invasion of my town, I'd have had to remove all the people and add the structural damage and the alpha channels frame-by-frame. Just logically impossible I'm afraid.

  • I meant to use some stock clips. You wouldn't need to paint people out frame by frame. You'd use a shot of the street and then put a roto shape around the people who walk into shot. Underneath this you'd push a copy of the clip to a later point where the person wasn't there and keyframe the roto shape to follow that person. Then just repeat for everyone else. The damage buildings wouldn't just be laid over the top in one go, not frame by frame.

  • The damage buildings *would* just be laid over the top in one go, not frame by frame.

  • I hear what you're saying but the trouble with that is that to effectively remove the people or add the damage, the shots would have had to be static anyway. So aside from maybe a few trees moving here and there, there's not much different between a static photo and a locked-off moving plate.

Plus there'd be all the associated problems with grading the Dalek shots to match the quality of the film/video source, which means compositing the Daleks separately which is more time consuming, etc.

  • You could projection map onto simple geometry, like they did for the London sky WWII scene in "The Empty Child"

  • Absolutely brilliant! Oops the last person already said that.. well it's true. I just love your stuff, that's why I subscribed to you! =D

  • Absolutely brilliant! Amazing graphics and music. Hope to see more.

  • Fantastic work there, completely in tune with the atmosphere of the original and sci-fi of the era.

  • MAN YOU ARE F*%KIN BRILLIANT

  • Fantastic!!

  • Sensational !!

  • subtly, the saucers make their approach. even the explosions on the planets surface seem strangly muted. the planets inhabitants are doomed. the saucers portholes slide open to reveal their diabolical crew, the new masters of Earth....

you are so chuffin' creative 'n' clever 'n'... sh*t

  • Absolutely fantastic! Love the use of the Tristram Cary Devils Planet score, that was always my favourite. 5 stars! :-)

  • Go for it dude!

  • they should add that to the DVD release...amazing work!

  • Bit late, the DVD came out in 2003

  • They could add it to any more copies they manufacture...and I know it's already come out, because I've got it!

  • good

  • Fantastic, exept I notcied somthing about the TARDIS landng.

    1) In the original the side windows were (stupidly) tilted open and

    B) The TARDIS always used to land silently untill The powerful enemy. I got that info from your sight so you have no excuses :D Amazing vid tho

  • LOL.

Funnily enough, it was making this video which started me wondering when the TARDIS did first make a landing noise, which led me to write that article. So I fully researched it and then deliberately did it wrong. The irony!

  • I know, I dunno what worse, you writing it, OR ME READING IT

  • LOL. I know. I'm quite ashamed I bothered.

  • Nah it was quite fasinating

  • That was excellent! It's a realistic view on The Dalek Invasion Of Earth.

  • You just get better and better!

  • very imaginative and superb
