Suzuna Miyagi had my focus most of the game. Her hair and outfit looks much more tame; I miss her funky "rebel" hairstyle of the past as it suited her cranking style pretty good. That pocket 7-10 split was just unfortunate - we've all gotten those:
("Oh that's a strike.... *7 and 10 stand* ---but that was pocket!..."
As for the 3 auditions: Ehh.. Rina may have it. The 3rd girl had an orgasm! LOL ;)
@CooLDsteR Great review of Suzuna. I was watching the PBA World earlier this week, and was shaking my head over how many times I "saw" a 7-10 by Sean Rash and Pete Weber. Between the two of them, there were five or six of them - of which four eventually went down by wacky zangy pin action. The bowling balls are so powerful, they pulverize the 1-2-4 side, and then have the 4 go around the 7. If Suzuna sticks with this style, she needs more pin action, therefore more power.
@yuppiehi I'm not too into the PBA as I used to be. One thing I've gotten so tired of is the excessive force used for attempting such splits like the 7-10. I mean, it works, but bowling to me isn't about throwing the ball and hoping it ricochets off of the walls hard enough to miraculously hit the other pin(s).
Though she said she broght bwols which do not hook too much, bwo bowls still hook more than that of the others, so she will be excellent when she is good, but quite awful when she is bad. Mr. Kouji Yamamoto mentioned such acomment in DVD Vol.2
Rina says it is first time for her to and the hightst score in her life, it may be just by chance.
As for the bowling itself, I'm extremely happy with how Risa Suzuki stuck it out to the end. Leaving that bucket wasn't a great thing, but at least she took Aki Suzuki it to the 10th. Aki just had the lanes locked down at the end. I still can't believe a pure stroker like Aki - with that extremely loose pendilum swing can compete like this. Oh, forgot... wood lanes!!!! Suzuna Miyagi.... I think she hangs around with Mika Sakai too much - both have the same attitude when they're down.
@yuppiehi Indeed, Risa Suzuki has the best armswing of them all. As for Suzuna, she's mastering a very hard game style, but when she hits, there's a pure strike. Sometimes can players like Aki, with little bit of luck, play very good, but they always falling out in the next/third steps. P-League has 3 pure queens on wall of Fame: Nao back in 2007-2008, Urara in 2009 - 2010 and Hiromi 2011~. Next one could be Ayana or Aki Nawa, as Nawa has improved her game a lot.
In past series, it was introdeced that Risa had been to U.S.A. for training and learmed a lot. Though mistake in 7th flame was fatal, I think she did well this time.If she didn't make it she might be winner.
Though Aki nawa is still wearing supporter on her elbow, condition is almost OK and a bit more to be perfect. She hsa not got championship since series 2., so it would be nice if sh coild be in this series, but Matsunaga is stil tough.
@higashi1343 Yeah, i agree with you. Nawa did played very well on lately. She has more control on the realising target and the breakpoint of her ball than she had before. Hiromi plays very smooth inside and straight forward, but what makes her ball hit so hard is her forward-rolling rotation, unlike the others who either revs it up too much/less in proportion to their ball speed/angle. Thank you for great uploads!
Thanks for your relpy. I hope Nawa wouldill be able to finalist, but she have to fight with Matsunaga in semi final. Nawa has been far from chamipnship for years,. on the other hand Matsunaga is tough and stable,
I watched movie introduced by intheleftpocket. It was the movie of All Japan ladies professional bowlers championship, in the movie Ayumi Kabayashi was amazing, and she fought with Matsunaga in final. Matsunaga marked 299 and got chamiponship.
I have to agree with the others regarding the legitimacy of P-League. However, at the same time, the JPBA is a business, just like everything else. Take for example Kouhaku Uta Gassen - it too has lost its roots over the years, and has been taken over by AKB48 and KPOP. In short, the Japanese have an extreme short attention span. P-League has to attract new, non-bowler viewers as fast as they're losing the non-faithful viewers.
P-league Committee and also JPBA are trying to refresh P-league to avoid boring by viewers. I just would like to respect existing players. As I mentioned, Yuko Nakatani has left p-league. In official, she did it according to her will, It's OK.
On the other hand, she had contributed a lot for development of p-league, so I wonder what about arranging ceremony of graduation for her, even short one.
@higashi1343 It would be neat to acknowledge the contributions of the girls who helped make it what it is today. :) I think it's been over 3 years now, correct?
Sorry, if I don't understand your question correctly. I supoose you are talking on Yuko Nakatani. P-league is in 6th years now, and Yuko had particpapated since series 1 to 32, so maybe she contributed for p-league for almost 5 years.. Though TV station diclosedd withdrawal of JBC players with short and small subtiles, they do not mention anything on Yuko. I think it's quite pity.
I'd like to comment about the potential p-leaguers. Rina looked like she can go further. As for the gravure idols (may sound harsh) after watching their throws....REALLY? With their current approach how are they going to advance? The "Pretty" part for sure they got it hands down but the other P's such as "Performance" didn't convince me. I prefer to see potential players with actual skills.
@SCDWldCrd I agree, P-league isn't was it was before anymore. The great stars such as Nao, Ayana, Hiromi, Urara and so on is no longer in the focus - instead we have some random girls and a supermodel (Mika Sakai), and a bunch of fashion dolls who throws some strike here and some spare there. It all started when Junko entered the tournament, with Brunswick paying her ticket. I do miss the old times back in 2007, when P-league really was a tournament for Womens Pro Bowling of Japan.
Thanks for your comment. The Japanese guy below also has same doubt. he is convinced tose idol girls are never able to join P-league. Even 200 over of Tina may be just by chance and be awfful in other game. I suppose players who will pass the exam will be only 1 or 2.
