  • yeah, but when you get burn in....

  • OLED > Plasma > LCD LED > LCD

  • Evry1 dont go by this VIDEO

Coz it shows TRADITIONAL LCD.(like in corby -.-)

I have a wave II which has SUPER CLEAR LCD :P

    And a WAVE I SUPER AMOLED :D

BOTH THESE SCREENS ARE IDENTICAL EXCLUDING SOME VIBRANCY

    Like if u agree :|

  • Vite ! Je veux l'OLED ^^ A mort le LCD :-P

  • dude sounds like chris porillo lol

  • the amoled screen has a normal quality . yu cant compare it to the retina display or the super amoled display.

  • @r8s19 And the super amoled plus is just awesome. Between amoled and slcd there are no significant differences. Just the black of the amoled and the sharpness of the slcd. By the way the retina display is not a technology itself, it is just a marketing name. It is an IPS panel from LG

  • Retina display ftw?

  • @GenoKatz4 Retina LCD is simply an increase in the number of pixels. It didn't change the way the pixels look or behave. LCD has longstanding and irresolvable issues with black levels, viewing angles, and response time, and it's only a matter of time before Apple switches to OLED.

  • @BansheeXYZ To make it even simpler, Retina display is when the human eye cannot see the individual pixels in the LCD.

  • amoled STILL suffers Burnin. Saw a demo Samsung galaxy in a phone store the other day, and the screen is already got burn-in.

LCD does not have this fault.

  • Amazing amoled black levels look way better on my slcd screen;b

Did you get the logic in that one;) YouTube is not the best way to make up your opinion on a screen.. there is only one way.. look at it directly... some like amoled and some people like lcd.. I like slcd better than this generation of amoled.. maybe next generation amoled will impress me more..

  • They are cheap LCD displays were like on laptops are 6bit so AMOLED 6bit would be better for laptops but not LCD ISP displays like iPhone 4 and iPad and AMOLED have poor resolution at the moment.

AMOLED is still in it's early days and will one day be the best, so I do love AMOLED displays but they still too early, perhaps later in 2011 or 2012 we will see the hybrid display, that is AMOLED white backlight with an RGB filter, a bit like a Plasma TV with the plasma element changed for OLED

  • I have seen AMOLED screens and all have poor image quality issues.

So why, first the Blue has a very short life span and so they double up on the Blue by using a strange pixel order that produces a checkered board effect display, were LCD ISP type is smoother.

They don't support millions of colours, were LCD ISP types do, so you get greater colour range on LCD.

  • @goInsoft I am not a Apple fan but I have seen that the best professional ips screens go up to 32million true colors... the normal ips is 16million true color. Slcd is true 8bit with deterring that give 16million colors.. my desire hd got slcd.. look better than amoled in my opinion.. Apple and Samsung get a lot of critic from calibration experts that say colors are calibrated to rich.. I find this to be true.. I like skin colors to be natural..

  • really dissapointed HTC HD7 is not AMOLED.. why the fuck did they not give it an AMOLED display? ive waited for this phone for ages . Shall i buy the samsung or the HTC HD7?

  • @SidneyXda i think you should buy the samsung focus.. it's a disapointmeant that htc didnt give htc hd7 Super amoled as samsung gave their Focus. I think you should buy the focus, even though you can see huge differances beteween htc hd7 and samsung focus.. samsung is so my brighter and better =P

  • @blekdregen Samsung Focus? ive heard about that one, do you think its better than the HD7 in features and all that? i love the super amoled display of samsung..and the focus sounds good . At the moment im just caught in three minds. 1.HD7 - due to its screen size, and those weather animations (i love that) . 2.The dell venue pro - has amoled screen too and looks nice. 3. The samsung you mentioned ..the focus, its damn tough to decide, they all have something i want lol

  • @SidneyXda i have the hd2.. it's really strong.. it can rund winmo 6,5, android and winmo7, which made me think that hd7 had the same speed as hd2.. but it doesnt :O + the screen is so big haha.. so it will fit in your pocket really hard :D i would recommend you to buy a samsung focus :D

btw .. it's one month since you replied.. did you buy one ?

  • @blekdregen lol well i was so close to buying HD7 but after seeing reviews.. but another one came on the scene which really gave me more choosing headache lol ..the samsung Omnia 7, and im also looking at do i just buy a tablet (galaxy) Ive always wanted a big screen, i dont get too fussed with carrying a big device . Most likely i will end up getting the Omnia 7 though .. on contract. I'll get there eventually! haha

  • @SidneyXda okayy xD + the galaxy tab is awesome haha.. camera.. gps.. calling + video chat :D

  • amoled i heard also dont eat up much battery

  • Samsung has been releasing some good products recently.

  • In reality it the amoled is al lot more clear.

It look a lot better than the normal displays!!!!

  • shouldve shown different angles on cellphone to show depreciation of the quality of the image as the angle differs

  • compare amoled with super amoled plz

  • @10mhassan

i never heard of super-amoled. What is that? Also what's the difference between AMOLED and OLED?

  • @purplefetus3,

OLED (organic light emitting diode) uses organic compounds and electro emiting matter, they can be as thin as film and felixable.

AM OLED, is the same with addition of active matrix which adds cabability of actively turn pixels on/off resulting in higher contrast.

Super AMOLED is developed by samsung. This techology makes the touch screen built-in to the screen itself to make it thiner for touch devices. the result is thiner over all screen, and improved brightness.

  • @rghasemi Thanks so much! Appreciate the info. :)

  • if this looks so much better, and saves so much energy, why the fuck isnt this display in everything?

  • @Skoxx16 It's more expensive to produce and manufacturers love milking the market especially with gimmicks such as 3d. Also, stupid people are stupid.

  • @Skoxx16 the only manufacturer of AMOLED is samsung and they dont wanna sell these to its competitors

  • love the screen in my omnia 2, however i just bought the wave and the super amoled is amazing. You have to see it to believe it the contrast is amazing :D

  • @cramtoro Yeah. I have a wave also. The 1st time I turned it On I was shocked and amazed. (Upgrade from star to wave) xD

  • Damn man, in start of EVERY video you WASTING at least 30-40 sec of our life. All is want to say "just shut up and shoooow!"...

  • i think amoled is great for small electronic devices that are power by batteries and for small monitor is great but for a big screen monitor is not so great because of the life spam.

for example: 2 years, 3 months, 13 days, 8 hours for an amoled and for a lcd is about 5 years, 8 months, 18days and 8 hours.

  • this test sucks, should've used a Samsung LCD screen, different brand always means different quality.

  • Super AMOLED is going to solve the sun issues.

  • i have an AMOLED in my samsung atm, i didnt buy it because of this, but the coolest feature of this which can never be achieved with a LED/LCD/PlASMA/PROJECTOR etc is that black IS BLACK, i created white text on solid black background, you cannot see the boundaries of the screen in the dark, when images are rotated to portrait the black area on te screen looks likes the screen has shrunk, i have never seen this before on a mobile device, very clever

  • talking about a sick difference here.

better color, better contrast, no viewing angle, no response time, thinner (and thus the whole device thinner), low power consumption, it can even be made transparent and flexible... what else do we want???

  • Comment removed

  • uh. bro my nexus one is amoled.get your shit straight..lol

  • lolz

But AMOLED sucks in the sun.

    Pretty weird.

HTC Use LCD. And maded the Nexus one for google.

    Used Amoled..

  • @JustinnnnChannel That is probably the material that protect the screen, like glass or so... not the screen it self...

  • @JustinnnnChannel Nexus one is AMOLED and when I'm in the sun, yes, it's slightly more difficult to see but it's nothing close to a deal breaker.

  • @guythatdrums2009 no actually it's just normal OLED :) sorry...

  • @DBZmusicboy01 dood..wow..check the specs!!

  • @guythatdrums2009 oh I see

dang I only had seen the beta I haven't check it since it came out

    your right.

  • AMOLED is way better than normal LCD. I have a Samsung Jet and i can said is gorgeous!!

  • Yes I found Debra Morgan on an OLED! My scavenger hunt is complete!

  • What are you talking about White Russian

I have an Omnia II. You can adjust the screen settting to adjust to the sunlight.

    The screen is beautiful.

  • I actually agree. AMOLED is better than the plain LCD display. I have a Samsung Omnia i8910 and the screen is big and clear. I think it 3.7 inchs. It is bigger than the iphone's screen. I put it away because I can't stand the Symbian operating system. I use it on trips because the gps signal is out of this world on that thing.

  • @gasolara2002 Nokia has no idea what had them coming, also Microsoft when the iPhone OS and Android appeared. The problem is these firms are so internally branded and marketed, if you show up with an IPhone at MS its like making your deathwish, wanting to say, these firms are too proud to try out the android or iPhone OS. So it is no wonder that Symbian and WinMobile are a complete joke when compared to UX and user focused Software made by Google and Apple.

  • its not really fair for amoled cuz the screen is a smaller size

  • Well, first of all, it's a 0.1" difference diagonally. But how would that change anything? It doesn't. I have a phone with a 2.8" LCD and a PMP with a 3.3" AMOLED. AMOLED > LCD hands-down. Well, except in sunlight.

  • I want The HTC Touch Diamond 2 Use AMOLED Display . LOL

  • oled is the biggest difference in displaying technology, and it should supposedly be the cheapest to date.

  • WOW never thought tht its tht big a diff. to have an AMOLD display .. didn't think it will make any more better experience with havin a WVGA screen res. in the 1st place.

    really gr8 comparison :D

  • nice comperism!

I never expected such an diffrence!

  • This video was quite enlightening.

Now I truly understand the difference between the LCD versus AMOLED. And it's huge.

  • Oled?

  • btthe real question is...how is e screen sensitivity on the amoled

  • @Slimm2240

I don't see why it would be any different than LCD display.

I think screen sensitivity has nothing to do with the display type.

  • i beg to differ...jus look at the touch pro 2....its also a resitive lcd display yet theyve manage to increase the screen sensitivity...

  • He is saying that wether it's an LCD or AMOLED screen does not make a difference when it comes to sensitivity. Which is correct, the sensitivity is determined by the touchscreen technology (resistive or capacative) used, and its quality. Not the display type. It kind of seemed like you were asking if AMOLED was more sensitive than LCD.

  • haha...i was refering to the omnia pro as amoled...sorry...but either way the pro 2 has a restive display yet its more sensitive than most other resistives whether new or old model...wonder howd they pull that off

  • it would look allot better if you compared the 2 screens while they were playing the same vid

  • @ 1:22 you can really tell the difference. AMOLED is quite greater than LCD

  • holy shit its pronounce A-M-O-L-E-D not amohled

  • "G.U.I" is an acroynm as well, however "gooey" is an accepted term among people.

  • Calm down, nerd.

  • But how does the image look from the sides? Like when you turn the display 30° do you still get a clear picture? And what about moving pictures?

Incomplete review and therefore worthless I'm afraid.

  • moving picutres are not blurry. You can get a nice view for over 45° even.

  • its always crisp even the black color(actually there is no black color as the pixels turn completely off when its supposed to be black light)

  • Short and simple~ Thanks for posting.

  • First image looks better on LCD for me.

  • actually they're better in sunlight...

  • I have question about HTC HD2 lcd is it AMOLED or Traditional LCD

  • Traditional LCD

  • LCD

  • Now a iphone with a OLED or AMOLED display would be cool

  • nice idea, but i still wont buy it

  • well it would be cool LOL

  • agreed

  • who are u agreeing on

  • on ur post :)

  • I concur.

  • I have an Omnia II.

Pictures are very vivid, but the screen is far from usable in sunlight. Such a shame

  • It looks great but from what i,ve heard its not good in sunlight or outdoors.

    Thx for the review.

  • AMOLED looks great and will save a lot of battery

  • any link to that girl with sunglasses ? :)

    thanks.

  • @warrior71494 The girl with the sunglasses is a British girl but i cant remember her name!

She goes out with actor Jason Statham and she has replaced Megan Fox in the Transformers 3 film, her name is 'Rosie' somthing, shes Victoria secret model and now actress.
