What a fierce voice. And visualize the image of the woman behind that voice! Mind you, this was a generation ago. Could be that Slick did more for women’s lib than a shelfload of well-intentioned gender studies nowadays.
One of the best base players around played on this album with Grace ....Phil Stoltie aka Phil Stone from the local CT group EYES...anyone see or here of him since?

GOOD GOD! I forgot about this one! LOL.....Love it! You tell'em Grace! The pictures are of her in front of the old Winterland Arena when they were tearing it down. It's perfect that she got to be the one riding the wrecking ball! Grace is a California classic :)
I actually have found a copy of Manhole and ordered it from HMV and am waiting for it to arrive. All of Grace's solo recordings are great, except IMHO Software but whatever. If they were aailable I would order them all, it's a shame really that they're so hard to find.
Ive always have been a Grace Slick fan. Yes she was Hot. I pulled up a recent interview here on You Tube and was so shocked to her. She is in her 70s and looks like a liitle old grandmother.Wow time flies by so fast. You have got to pull up that interview. She might be a white hair old lady now but she is just as cool as ever.
SOFTWARE came out in 1984 and was produced by J. Geils. It had a modern feel for '84 .. ya know, all synth'd up. Grace thought it was aweful, but it still sounds good. She wrote some good lyrics. Titles like "All the machines", "Fox Face" & "Thru the window" r excellent. I hav the cassette only.
I have bought the software cd,but saw the cover and was thinking that i must listen to some mp3 before i open it, and i don't like the 80 style of this cd so if you are interested in buying it let me know (it was not cheap to buy)
Not exactly stripping per se. She didn't want to get her shirt wet (it was raining on stage) so she took it off and sung topless. then one guy asked her to take ogg her chastity belt, and she replied (she wasn't wearing underwear), "What chastity belt', and she lifted up her skirt.
She is awesome! I am currently reading her autobiography called "Somebody To Love: A Rock N Roll Memoir". She is hilarious and smart and just plain intriguing. My curiosity about her was peaked when that chic on American Idol sang Somebody To Love and got dissed and rejected...So I'm now in Grace Slick 101 Mode and am enjoying learning about her.

U R right on. This album, plus Grace Slick's 1984 "SOFTWARE" lp NEED to be released.
Landrew120880 3 years ago
Dont know the software lp is it the same style as Wrecking ball ?

SOFTWARE came out in 1984 and was produced by J. Geils. It had a modern feel for '84 .. ya know, all synth'd up. Grace thought it was aweful, but it still sounds good. She wrote some good lyrics. Titles like "All the machines", "Fox Face" & "Thru the window" r excellent. I hav the cassette only.

Did she used to have a habit of stripping off on stage?
I remember seeing an old concert photo of her where she looks pretty darn nude.
Still, I guess it was the 60s.

How could she stoop to Software after this???
Fantastic backing band, was it the Hot Babies band or something? El Diablo and Face to the Wind are the best tracks (imho).
