Back then, she looked and sounded great. She only looks 'different' because she was younger. Had she become famous in 1992, then over the years we wouldn't have noticed her looks changing anymore than say, Diana Haddad for example. Her voice here was amazing-she was younger, so it was much better.

It's a shame that the music industry was so crappy back then that it was so protective. It would take a decade for Elissa to have a breakout hit. Blame the industry and its standards.

I will invite you to re-watch this video clip with your ears and reply honestly if you still think she sounded great. That is a really poor performance intonation and pitch wise. The bad news is that she did not get any better really over the course of 20 years.

If anything, she probably got worse. She sounds far more 'pitchy' these days. Plus she can't hold a note that long. But to be honest, I'm a huge fan of the overall package. But since you asked, I will concede her voice isn't that good. But the quality/timbre is instantly recognisible. And with the right song (which is often, since Elissa manages to select the right ones) , I find beautiful
