  • I wonder if you can install windows mobile 6.5

  • Never buy this phone!!!! It is the worst phone you will ever get!! I have one now and it barely even works! You are better off with a free flip phone. The touchscreen doesn't even work, the battery life is more like 45 mins and it lags and glitches all the time. DO NOT BUY! I hope this helps.

  • I had this phone and the gylde! THE GYLDE IS THE MOST HORRIBLE PHONE IN THE WORLD SAMSUNG SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR CREATING SUCH A HORRIBLE PHONE!!!! JUST TERRIBLE!!!!

  • @sigy8907 I also had the Glyde. It was on eBay within 4 days of me owning it. I love my i760 though.

  • Does the Samsung SCH-i760 have a sim card slot?

  • I hate stylus-equipped phones. Especially this one. -_- Apparently you have to be incredibly delicate with it, otherwise it'll start to get dysfunctional.

  • do u have to get the data plan if u get this phone for verizon

  • I have been using this phone with out the data plan. I just put a block from accessing the internet or you would endure data charges. But you can still use the wi-fi feature with out a problem. The only thing that results in not having a data plan and blocking the internet is you only get text messages and not pic messages. Also you may want to see my posting from 8 months ago down below.

  • where can i buy this? Is there anyway I could buy this brand new and if so, from where? I normally buy phones straight from the store so I am hesitant to buy a refurbished one from ebay....

  • This phone looks pretty sick, I actually just ordered it and I am looking at these vids to check out what I am getting into. Pretty cool, eh?

  • is this a good starter phone?

idk how long il have it tho...

the cameras not that great and the battery sticks out....

if not which verizon phone should i get as a starter phone?

  • The battery doesn't stick out. This phone has 2 different batteries available. The one that sticks out gives you a longer battery life. As for the camera it's ok for a 1.3 megapixel. I always use the timer on it and a good steady hand and they come out looking good. Any digital camerea for that matter, will give you awesome pics. Use the timer setting and both hands and you'll be suprised even with a 2 megapixel camera.

  • Would this phone be good for just someone who uses it to text and talk on the phone.. not a businessman..

  • I suggest an Alias

  • Oh, that's what I have now actually.

    I hate it so bad.

  • what phone is better:

the SAMSUNG GLYDE OR THE SAMSUNG SCH-i760

    PLZ REPLY!!!!!!

  • SAMSUNG I760

  • i have the samsung glyde...

it is awful i have to get another one...

the glyde's touch screen is always spazzing and like its super annoying-____-

i dont know about this phone thoughh xP

  • for shore! the SAMSUNG SCH-i760

  • i have the glyde. it sucks. the touchscreen is horrible. sometimes when you touch, say, the bottom left corner, it will press the button on the top right corner. very frustrating. i'm looking into getting this phone.

  • i had the glyde and didnt like but thats me i had lots of problems with it. like the touch screen got messed up bad and lots of pocket calling

  • Samsung SCH i760

  • ANYBODY CAN REPLY!!!!!!

can u use your fingers on the touch screen????

if yes is the stylus better???

and what would u take: THE SAMSUNG GLIDE, OR THE SAMSUNG SCH-I760

  • DATA PLAN: Yes. All Blackberry, PDA/Smartphones on Verizon's Network released after Nov 2008 require the Data Plan but not madatory. The i760 was introduces Oct 2007 so it is exempt. The Data Plan is simply to access the added features on your phone. You may request to block it. The only thing that will happen is that you can still access the web using Verizon's Mobile Web... but at $1.99 per Megabyte. Wifi is free. I was told this by Verizon and still available on their site under Smartphones.

  • please help.

i have a couple songs on Windows Media Player on my phone, but my memory is running out, how do i switch the save settings to my memory card?????

  • what are you talking about, all you have to do is move the mp3 from your computer to your memory card, instead of moving it from computer to internal memory. Easy!

  • sync the songs using windows media player its super easy then go to windows media player on your cell click menu on the right hand corner then library then choose storage card

  • I just paid for a mint one for 89.00 on ebay...

  • how is the wi-fi and the internet? does it work good or very slow? and how big is the screen and is the LCD crystal clear and how is the camera and the video recorder? bad picture or decent?

  • do they still make it??

  • It is still for sale, but not for too much longer. I just ordered mine from Verizon a few days ago.

  • does it require a data plan?

  • As of November 2008 a data plan is required for all Verizon PDA/smartphones, including this one. Apparently, even if you don't have a data plan, the lowest priced data plan will be added to your account automatically when you activate the phone.

I was able to get this requirement waived, your results may vary.

  • Also I have a question if anyone can help. Me and my mother have a shared Verizon plan. She has the most recent Titanium Motorola Razr and I have a crappy LG VX5300. If I were to upgrade to this phone by purchasing it from a third party company and switched my service over to it do I have to get a new or more expensive plan?? or is the transition as simple as entering the new ESN of your new phone? I mean Wi-Fi is free and what if i just use that only and not the 3G connection that costs $?

  • It won't cost you extra to move over to the new phone. If you buy it through Verizon though, you may be eligible for contract pricing. That gets you the 2-year contract price on a new phone instead of spending full price.

You don't need a more expensive plan unless you want the added data features to work. Wifi doesn't cost extra if you use a free wifi source.

  • Thanks. That's exactly what I was asking.

What features require a data plan? If I can use the web browser by using free WiFi then that's cool. Just curious what features you are talking about that actually require some extra dough.

    Thanks

  • are there any solutions that will fix the lagging and time the screen takes to recover when it opens and closes?

  • this phone was made LONG TIME AGO

    lol

  • do you have to use the stylus? or can you use your finger?

  • you can use the tip of your finger. I do most of the time.

  • i own the phone.

  • is it good im trying to upgrade to either this or the palm centro

  • i like it. its durable and it stores alot the video tho isnt so good or pictures

  • def. get this over the centro! Palm recently announced that thsey have discontinued support or future updates for the palm OS (exception for WEB OS used by Pre) Also, the palms keys are really small and the size of these phones is like exactly the same. Good luck!

  • shood i get this phone?

  • wait is this fone touch screen?

  • yes

  • i want 4 minutes of my life back ... please

  • would u like the 15 minutes it took you to type this comment too?

  • ive learned alot about my phone from these vids

  • do you actually own this phone? is it bigger than the average cellphone?

  • Great review. Thanks for it.

  • i was wondering how much for the phone in u.s.?i live in nyc..how much do they charge you for the internet service?if you go online web search?can you go on myspace-facebook & other sitez?no other phone that give u 2 batteriez most phonez they only give you one batteriez...maybe i get this phone when my plan is over..thankz plz answer my questionz

  • Do you see any problems with the sliding function over time? Such as breaking or rubbing against the QWERTY keys?

  • Verizon didn't make me buy a data plan, I just got it yesterday 5/13. Awesome phone, kicks my wife's Treo's ass!

  • it sucks that it is just for verizon, i have att

  • This guy's voice couldn't be any more nasally and annoying. I do phone support and hear voices all day, this guy set the bar high. I would get out of reviewing products and do sign language or become a mime or something along those lines.

I do appreciate the review for the amount of time I could take it... best.

  • is it better than the voyager? please reply!!!!

  • much better than the voyager. trust me, the voyager SUCKS compared to this.

  • i know it kind of does suck i got one and it sucks ass!!! I want a treo or this. which do you think is better?

  • get this! Treo sucks I have a treo and i want someting else badly!

  • This device is VASTLY superior to the Voyager in every respect. (I say that as someone who test-drove both and purchased the i760 without hesitation after exhaustive testing.) It's THE device to own. This device is also vastly superior to the Treo. My wife has one, and I'm much more satisfied with the 760. Nearly flawless device.

  • i am 13 and i am wondering if you think this would be good for me, because i dont know if this phone is like only for adults?

  • StuffForSale: That's a great question. You would probably be happier with a Voyager, to be frank, because much of the functionality of the i760 is really geared towards professionals. I'm a professional instructional technologist, so am comfortable with Mobile Pro 6 and all its quirks, but I'd imagine that A.) you don't need a lot of that function, and B.) you can save quite a bit of money on the Voyager.

Does anyone else have a Voyager and think it would be better for a teen?

  • I didn't see your other comment, Stuff... Is it better than a Voyager? In my opinion, yes, absolutely... but "better" is a subjective term. They're sort of apples and oranges because the i760 is literally a professional device. (Many other reviews refer to it as "Great for Professionals" I find. There's a great article on i760 vs iPhone that says that.)

If you don't mind spending the money, it's easy to use, powerful, and exceptionally versatile.

  • the only problem in getting this phone as a 13 year old (im 15) is that you NEED to have a data plan, which is really gai. verizon makes you get a data plan if u want this phone, but the phone itself is awesome if u use it for writing documents, text, like touchscreen phones, and has a pretty decent camera. oh and u can also put SNES and other emulators on it just for kicks =P

  • Hey this is stuffforsale2 here just on my other channel. Does it have good games for a phone, like good graphics?

  • well, the games are like most other mobile games, just on a larger screen. look up SNES games and NES games on a phone, and u'll see what kinda games im saying; old school mario and others. the games are there more of if ur bored, lol. oh and also several programs for the phone you could look around on youtube for.

  • DaveDS, you do need to have a data plan when you initially buy the phone, but any plan (data, text, navigator) short your base calling plan can be canceled. So you do not need to have a data plan for more than a month.

  • lol good idea =P

  • omg im so siked!!!!!! i get mine on april 1 2008 yay!!

  • I can't wait to get this phone! It's so awesome. It will replace my old Chocolate

  • Wait. 3 hours of continuous use? Does that mean just having it turned on?

  • no that would be having it on and continuously using it. the total battery life for just having it on is up to 204 hours

  • o ok good. I ended up getting a Q anyway

  • Good review but I think "uuhhh" was said a little too often.

  • yeah 49 times from what i counted

  • Does anyone know if this is a GSM phone, I'm from Montreal and we don't really use verizon down here?

  • no it is not GSM

  • when you recieve a sound in a picture messgae, can you set that sound as a ringtone with this phone?.. and also is the keyboard hard to type with?

  • can this phone play videos on youtube?

  • Yes. Check out part four of this review.

  • I want this phone but I'm concerned with the voice quality which I've heard people have issues with. They say the person on the other side of the call sound tiny. What's your experience?

  • I have this phone and compared it extensively to eh SMT5800 and xv6800 (all on verizon. Sound quality via the ear piece was better by far than both the other option. For a PPC phone it is the best I've heard , but that's not saying much. I am satisfied with both volume and quality. The overall build quality of the phone seems way better than the xv6800 (which has more memory harwdare options)

  • Part 2?

  • coming within a few days.

  • Cool I just got the phone yesterday. I've found the voice command function interesting. Make sure you test that out.
