  • go daamn! if you are a litle tipsy you maybe tweet something that you dont really mean, fucking give me a breaaK!!!

  • @spanku24me no dumbass you dont get a break, especially when you have money! live with it!

  • I thought Asher Roth was black lol

  • Racism is still around, but if nobody is getting killed over it can we all agree to not get so butt hurt over a fucking joke?

I'm hispanic but I don't get angry over every wetback joke. Your feelings aren't important to anyone but you.

  • @CCKsoldier Im not being sarcastic, but I have to ask. Do you equate 'wetback' with 'nigger' or nappyheaded hoes? It is the systemic & historical hate that is deeply ingrained into ppl's minds & hearts that make these comments hurtful. Perhaps you dont care about ppl's feelings, but as an artist in a black genre, he definitely should. I can guarantee that you have never experience anything close to the level of racism that ppl of African descent do.

  • "...Vice-magazine-y kinda people." Ill for president.

  • This is the point that bugs me-most people are probably upset that he called them "nappy headed" and not "hoes". The calling women "hoes" part is equally offensive.

  • He drops some Serious Knowledge

  • Race, race, race, race! The problem is NOT race! It's social class and politics!

  • @chsn09 ha the white liberal's talking points. good one.

  • I think you should rant like this in Holland: everyone here seems to be pretty proud of their complete lack of tact and sensitivity and even seems comfortable demanding that same insensitivity from immigrants as a criterion of their integration.

  • @acmilan4893

There are white people on welfare and maybe food stamps as black people are.

  • BEAUTIFULLY PUT DOC. MUCH LOVE

  • He sounds like Gil-Scott Heron after having drunk way too much coffee

  • Great insight!

I definitely agree with all the points you said.

Although you point out that strong relationships require great consideration of one's own action, which will impact the other; I think its fine, on a personal level, to use satirical words (e.g. racist, homophobic), for comedic purposes, on a person that you're really secure with. It just shows that those words are too and should be ridiculous that we can just laugh it off.

  • Brilliance. I'm subscribing.

  • So the promise lands going to look like South Africa where white are rape and killed until we cease to exist. I'm tired of living around non white and I'm tired of caring what they have to think, why can't us whites live without them?

  • @lastwhiteman25 if you are tired of living around "non white" go off yourself.

the "non white" people in this world are the reason you are alive. no offense to whites, but whites are nowhere near as resilient as "non white" in all facets of life.

"non whites" are the very people needed for everyone's survival and are the ones who will survive past everything. its how we are built. also whites come from non whites. look up migration and natural selection

  • What a faggot. Get a life and quit hating on everyone. Especially Charles man, lighten up ffs...

  • inb4 vicemag apologists

  • Word!

  • if you enjoy real underground music click on our user name and like our facebook page /oppositepolar Poetry/Rhythm/Life Underrated please only Real people like if you liked watching this video

  • Funny at times but aaaaaahhhhhh theres a ranter everyday

  • I say this as a Black man , but Black make racist jokes all the time about all other races including White people so Black people need to get off their high horse. And besides all Black do is claim Asher acts to White(which is a racist comment by the way). He's a damn good rapper and very intelligent. If people would let Asher Roth be Asher Roth ,we wouldnt even have this problem. And people need to stop comparing him to Eminem and The damn Beastie Boys(Again which is racist) . Let Asher be man

  • @KidInsain

you missed the point of the video. your comment misses the forest for the trees dude. It wasn't a big deal screw up, but it was as Ill says "an interesting screw up."

  • yes, Jay has said EXACTLY what I've been thinking.

all those "too cool to be human enough to care about your words & actions" people who think they're entitled to being offensive just because they're too lazy to have actually REALLY done the work of checking their own ignorances & prejudgments.

  • Thank,. You.

  • this dude is really funny and smart..i just started watching this chanel ryt now and i'm luvin it!!!!!..

  • Well.... 'nappy headed' didn't offend me quite as much as the fact that he also called them 'hoes', did.

  • vice magazine ha....you rock man

  • This cracker will never adress me.

  • Hip hop is a chess pool of disrespect, arrogance, cynicism, thats for starters.. On one side you have the red cross, teachers, firemen, soldiers, people that are capable of holding doors for a mexican, Oprah, etc.etc. on the other side you have raspiest, drug dealers, the kkk, rappers and rap industry and fans of hip hop, charles mansion, the worst chicken chasers, etc.etc.

  • @emzzdad

    Funny, I'm a fireman and I've been a fan of hip-hop since I was 9.

  • The second part of the sin was not being funny.

  • Asher... Roth? Astaroth?!

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I love this guy

  • The real problem of racism, is referring to each other as Blacks or Whites - which is a racial overtone. As what we really are is human - the human race.

  • i could never ever hate someone for their color that is so wrong BUT* its difficult to like a certain race in my city who ONLY depends on government welfare and food stamps to live and not get jobs... while the people of my race work hard for their earnings to keep our economy alive... its sad to say but the statistics of my city detroit makes it hard for people in my city to not dislike a certain race---

  • @acmilan4893 so what you are saying is that, YOUR race is good. Others are bad? right..

  • Post-hiphop? kys douche bag.

  • i heard you were half black.

you don't even look 1/45th black

    I DEMAND A DNA TEST

  • this guy needs too shut the fuck.......he talks too much....

  • Brilliant!

  • in real closeness "each other" may be replaced with by "us".

    Fuud for thot

  • love your mind respecting boundaries is the realness of the eradication on racism

  • love you Jay -- a national treasure.

  • nappy headed hoes is racist now? its sexist but its for sure not racist

  • @RunningP123456 its kinda racist though cuz black girls have naturally kinky hair and thats just how it is (no offence to black people)

  • This guy is really smart... Has a really insightful and articulate way of breaking things down.

  • I wish Illie Ill was more popular...his words are well versed knowledge straight from his mouth to your brain.

  • fuckin dumb ass 6 generation white ppl we aint got to much to worry about the most of um jus waste there time trying so hard to be black and take small pices of black culture to look cool and white ppl as a whole are fallin off bad i bet at least every 1 on here knows a dumb ass white boy and thanks for creating tha alphabet my blk ppl wit out it there would be no u tube :)

  • I've only ever viewed YOUTUBE for mindless entertainment and an occasional vignette of insight. Your videos, my friend, are now my haven for mindful enlightenment and will frequent this site as long as you continue to spit right.

  • MY FUKN HERO!

  • Am I the only person who frequently says "thank you" out loud in answer to some point J makes? "extra comfortable." So d*mn true.

  • yo ur a fag it aint hurtfull, u make me wanna die u fucking dirtball

  • truly brilliant.

i also just LOVE the sound of your voice.

  • My dude, you are one of the smartest, funniest and just plain common-sense(iest)?...people I've seen on the internet. Period. You're right, Asher Roth is just a kid. Not an excuse. If you claim to be a part of hip-hop you should be knowledgeable about the culture, the origins, the PEOPLE who started the art form, at the very least. At worst, you should not say stupid, hurtful semi-racist things.

  • This dude is legit.

  • We watched this in my Communication Studies class. It was awesome.

  • man, there's so much stupid crap out there that when you actually hear common sense like this, it's honestly staggering.

  • amazing. make more vids about racism and homophobia.

  • what does race have to with having nappy hair?

    or being a hoe?

  • I like Asher Roth cause he dont rap about some nonsense like everyone else does.. killing, raping, bitches, money.... you name it... eminem spits hes a serial killer now ? 50 cants wanna be gangster crap ? hate all you want but thats how I see it..

  • VERY VERY WELL SAID

  • btw this guy is the man, smart dude

  • If you like Asher Or Eminem, then look up Wes Freeman, he's good too

  • you have to Understand the context of How he was using it, and how Don Imus used it about 8 months ago.

  • 4 REAL

Don't get it twisted...just because you listen to some Murs & watch 30 Rock don't give you the freedom to making ignorant jokes. White kids say stupid stuff cuz they thank oh it's safe. When I grew up white kids hated hip hop & they parents was scared of it. Soccer moms now be bumping Lil Wayne in front of they kids. White kids be slaning "nigga" around like "Oh I didn't say n-ig-g- E-R ir was niggAH, there's a difference cuz I love Chappelle's show."

  • Look it, I am not going to go after Weezy, if you like him, whatever, but the type of people really into corporate rap and don't know any other music to the point they are saying that Lil' Wayne is their favorite musician, they have a lot of other problems causing that. Don't blame the symptom as the cause.

You know, there are a lot of places in this country that don't have a lot of computers or the internet. Top 40 radio is all they have, let's not forget that.

  • very well said

  • it's a reference and quite an obvious one too. Dunno why people would take it so seriously...other than being ill that yet another white rapper is getting a little popularity.

  • Asher Roth is whack anyway; if you've ever seen him freestyle, you know what I mean.

    Oh yeah, great video!

  • i agree with this. well said. there seems to be a lack of interest in really challenging ourselves on a personal level with regards to these issues. it's not seen as cool. or it's seen as necessary. i think it's very necessary. kudos

  • one question to my african american homies, im mexican right, all my life ive been friends with black dudes from the hood, so, the word "nigga", i use it constantly with em' since we were little, whatever so, one day i stayed @ homies house and homies mom heard me and slapped me worse than the white guy on "national security"(i love u mama taylor haha),so my question my important question is this, is ME usin "nigga" looked @ badly? much respect.

  • If your friends are okay with you calling them "nigga" then that's fine, but don't assume that all blacks are a monolith, and that just because your friends are okay with it doesn't mean every black person is.

As long as you realize this you should be alright. If I were you I would only use the word around the company of your friends; if there are any other blackfolks around I wouldn't say it.

  • thanks homie, much respect.

  • Anyone using 'nigga' should be looked at badly, tbh

  • well, most blacks (including myself) look at Latinos (Mexicans) as their brothers. so no I wouldn't be offended since I know you didn't intend to insult anyone. besides considering it's historical context it doesn't have the same effect coming from you. my question to you is, why not try to not use it at all? you should try doing just that.

  • I'm not African American, but I think I have some insight that might help you out, brother. People take things differently, and even though some of us might act alike, in the end we're all individuals. What might not be taken as offensive to one person might be totally out of line for another person, even though they;re both people who come from similar experiences. Also, keep in mind that "nigga" is still a very charged word and POC, older generation especially, still have problems with it.

  • Personally, I understand that because I'm white and American, that word just means something different coming from me than it does coming from a person of color, but many people, regardless of background, do see that word as totally unacceptable. While I just never use it, my advice to you is to just be careful about where you use it and who you use it with, and the context behind it.

  • geezer ur so true ... genuine. I agree innit, nice to see a good perspective maybe we are making some progress in this world wiv racism ..

true dat sick words.. keep it real brother. easy.

  • I agree with everything jsmooth said, and I know he already let asher roth off the hook, but just to add a little more perspective to the screw up, I actually agree with internetchampion kind of, even though he's been thumbed down off the board.Comedy is a way to release tension in a healthy way. This is constantly a problem, where people go to release the tension, and the joke is bad, and then the problem gets worse. its important to recognize the ironically good intention behind the bad joke.

  • we're not in a post hip hop world

  • I just love how you speak. Period.

Your points were articulated beautifully. And my goodness your voice. If you could just record a wake-up alarm for me to download and put on my mp3, my life would be great.

  • dumme schwuchtel..

ein typ der meint er hat Ahnung, dabei ist er nur ein überempfindlicher dreckiger Hippie..

    peace..

  • simply a case of TOO SOON

  • I appreciate this vlog, it presents the issue in a thoughtful and rational way...please keep in mind that it works both ways, and I really don't hear a lot of AA's chastising each other over anti-white statements and comments when they appear. Isn't it also fair to expect reciprocity of respect?

  • I'm black and when I hear negative comments about white people, or any other race for that matter, I try to say something. Not make it into a fight or anything, but just kind of point it out. It's mainly with friends that you hear this stuff, like he said that's when people feel comfortable. I just kind of say, "hey man, that's not right." or Ieave the convo. I think once people see that Its not cool with their peers, they might think twice. So I believe that it does go both ways.

  • And this is why I subscribe to you. This Vlog is too sharp. Thank you.

  • thank you

  • he's so freaking intelligent

I love how he breaks things down to a point where almost everyone agrees.

Not like in a manipulative way, but because he's telling the truth

  • @futuresoundofhiphop Not really - its all common sense.

  • @futuresoundofhiphop - u read my mind exactly...it's so refreshing! to see someone who really thinks before he speaks...with the dawn of social websites we have gotten so comfortable with the right to "say what's on our minds" without also embracing the responsbility to "mind what you say"...

he covers all counterobjections in such a slick/graceful way...that you end up going "aahhh i never thought about it that way"

  • @futuresoundofhiphop It really is in a manipulative way. Probably not intentionally, but he just keeps piling on words as if everything he has already said is accepted as truth.

He IS a smart dude, just doesn't really know how to look at race from a realistic point of view. Too PC.

  • @Raykak

"Realistic point of view [about race]"

    "Too PC"

Realistic in what sense? Too PC? By this I take it one should be allowed to say whatever they wish both to and about others without being held accountable for how those words my impact them. I think you would do well to review this video again for J Smooth is talking... to you.

  • @Raykak ....jay smooth is too pc, because if he says it "straight up" it will be a very hot, heated diatribe, etc.

  • @futuresoundofhiphop its just common sense, not downplaying what he says but common sense aint so common anymore

  • Great points man! You should write a book with all the material from your videos. Take care and keep up the good work

  • When I first saw Asher Roth on a break between MTV shows, I thought it was a spot for Comedy Central. I looked up a couple of lyrics for his songs, because I didn't want to spank too soon. In a nutshell: Asher Roth will be gone in a few minutes. Ineloquent, crappy rhymes, silly subjects, I wouldn't be surprised if he lands the opening gig for Jonas Bros. or Britney.

  • I would rather read Vice than listen to Asher Roth ANY DAY.

  • respect..!!!

  • This is probably a good time to point out that

maybe if we ALL didn't put such an emphasis on "race" in the first place, and worried more about viewing and treating each other as "humans" we wouldn't have to worry about this kind of crap in the first place.

  • i think seeing each other as simply humans is definately the long term goal, or at least should be. but there are always gonna be divisions in the world (racial, sexual, etc) and they are most probably always gonna get in the way of how we see each other. i think we are gonna have to figure out how stop those divisions from blocking us from that goal first. but all in all, to me, ur point is very relevant.

  • Check out "pie in the sky man" youtube

  • how many times have blacks and hispanics spoke about eachother or others in an extremely wrong way, even the BET awards attacked crackers.but thats ok but nappy headed hoes isnt and this is comin from a hispanic man himself.i dont get offended by none of this bullshit.i just dont think that ppl should be makin such a huge deal..if he apologized, aint no reason to shout him out, or label him as a racist.i know this video didnt but i know some do.

  • What was the purpose of you posting the link to that video here? To show that Black people can be racist as well? That's not exactly a ground-breaking new idea.

Racism is an affliction of the willfully small-minded and ignorant. You seem just as afflicted as that teacher.

  • I understand what you're saying,

mensameme1...It seems incredibly acceptable for black people to use words that they'd be offended by if a white person were to say them, & that is completely unfair. Most people these days advocate for black people & how their affected by words like these, yet these people say nothing about black racism towards whites, which these days is actually much more common.

I'd like to hear illdoc1 talk about racism against whites, or do only white people talk about it?

  • Youre speaking and cussing as if youre a 16 year old girl. Calm down. Personally, the ratio of white people calling black people niggers to black people calling white people cracks is like 100 to 1. As far as COMEDIANS. Understand the word COMEDIAN. Their job is to make people laugh, not to give a shit about someones feelings. Were a little too grown up for that. Its funny that you say the majority of racists today are black. You clearly dont live anywhere near me.

  • "The majority of "racists" today are black. "

Thats your quote. Youre the one who doesnt have the 'facts' and just 'completely fabricated statistics'.

What do you plan on doing to those people who are 'stupid enough to stand in front of you and spout it' ?

    Lol.

  • The FACT that any of those are racist isn't present.

    Thats in your opinion.

Lol. youre too old to be that ignorant. stop.

  • In your opinion, right?

The FACT that theyre racist doesn't exist.

    Just stop.

  • Lol..you're reaching, TRYING to make them sound racist..

Youre entitled to your own opinion. So whatever.

  • Lol. Good.

One less reason to call Americans ignorant.

  • You're intelligent.

  • why the video in gray? r u white or black?

  • I actually think he's mixed, but he definitely looks like a white dude. If he's not mixed, and he's not a white dude, chances are he's Jewish.

  • yeah he is mixed i seen a video where he made that comment

  • BEWARE: without "Negro-love" we would not have traffic lights, pencil sharpeners, air-conditioning, water heaters, clothes dryers, and we would also, not be able to use many other appliances without injuring ourselves, because improvements were made to these appliances by black people.

Stick to watching videos about how gay you are for John McCain, rather than polluting videos made my people much smarter and more educated than your dumb ass.

  • BRAVO!!!!!! :)

  • Knock it off. You're being dumb.

  • Holy shit, illdoc1. It's like you said everything I think, but more clearly and eloquently.

  • My fellow lightskinneded brother, you are on point regarding these Vice magazine methhead looking folks. Remember the Asian hipster grifter girl? Karma is a female dog. Gentrification never looked so clueless. Subscribed!

  • This is a massively enlightened message...

This message makes a lot of sense...

This sense is like our 6th sense...

It becomes illusive as our over nurtured ego kind smothers it out...

I have happy to hear there are others that do care about others...

    In an enlightened way.

  • man u say alotta real shit dude. *subscribed*

  • I have watched this video several times and I must say bravo. well done.

  • I NEVER subscribe to anyone. You have converted me...*bows head with humility*

  • he got tired of xbox live 2 quick Lmao

  • this guy is cool really making sense good shit ppl really should hear this

  • lol wired... but 100% agree.. and asher roth is a awsome rapper

  • on point!

  • okay. it's official. LOVE this guy!

  • To Jpplay123:

To call him a Homo is doing exactly what he was talking about. He was just saying how its NOT cool to do stuff like that, and how its taking everything back a step,

  • dont ever stoip with these vids.....!

    love em...

  • subscribing

  • dam, this guy has a point!

  • nothing wrong with having nappy hair but hoes (whores) ummmmmmm that changes the meaning of the statement LOL!

  • Dude, that's a very good point. Also, you look a lot like a really cool guy named Mike Shinoda. Lead rapper/singer guy of Linkin Park.

  • all i wanted to was watch one vid on ignore charles hamilton and am sucked in to your channel dung, love your shit dude

  • Sheesh. For the record, I'm black. I like Asher Roth's music. It was a little joke nudging and trying to make light of a situation that was actually offensive. People are too damn sensitive nowadays. It wasn't hurtful to anybody with a functioning brain. Racism isn't going anywhere and if we all turn gray, there will be some sort of separation it's the way of people, and the way of the world. People keep trying to oppress nonsense like the word, "nigger", only giving it more of a stinging power.

  • I totally agree.

  • I would fucking hate to get into an argument with this guy.

  • hahahaha dude, i just lauhed so hard at that.

  • Agree 100%

  • get over it people. it was a fuckin joke. sheesh...

  • get under it, some jokes aren't funny.

  • you're very clever

  • Well said!

  • You are awesome.

  • You are defending ignorance by stating that someones opinion (which is ignorant) is ok, and that it shouldn't be brought to their attention. An opinion becomes wrong when it has an adverse effect on someone, and when it doesn't respect their humanity.

  • How am I promoting ignorance by judging person's opinion based on its merits and not subjecting them to the prejudices of a racist label? By closing out certain ideas, you are closed minded by definition.

European Islamists defend the abuse of women by labeling objectionists racists. No matter that they defending the rights of women, you would have their opinions silenced based on a rhetorical label

Most things racist are wrong. So judge them as wrong for being wrong, not for being racist

  • Hey Illdoc I have time for your videos you really are interesting man. Peace.

  • Comment removed

  • 1) God hasn't sent me because god doesn't exist and

    2) When did I ever say he wasn't wrong?

And yeah, wrong is wrong so Asher Roth and Isaiah Washington have to suffer the consequences for saying fucked up things. Unless you feel it's OK to call your co-worker a faggot?

  • God doesnt exist? Wow that's 2 deep 4 me! & hey if the shoe fits then 1 must ware it!lol

But seriously that's all I'm saying.. He must stand accountable 4 his actions & or words! But every 1 is acting like that shit was ok or cool when it was not!

If he had of made a quote from Hitler that belittled the Jewish community or something like that then people would understand & want retribution but since his insult was only directed towards black women mofos just want 2 turn the other cheek!

  • Soldier, royalxanadu is just an internet instigator punk, best bet is to ignore.
