It's funny, I would NEVER have considered LMFAO anywhere near house or Trance, I consider it nowhere close to this sound. They may have the Dj feel, but not this type of sound at all. They are mainstream, and this is certianly underground(ish). I say "ish" so someone doesn't try and get all literal on the meaning of underground.....

In trance, the build-up is very important, that's why it's 9:38 minutes long? Just listen to this, it's magnificent, shouldn't be shorter and maybe even be longer to my opinion.

Good buildup is a reason why i like deadmau5, might sound boring on first listen but just listen to his tracks a bit more carefull and technically, possible goosebumbs? or it just isn't your style :S anyway.. ^^

i admit, not all tracks need it, most house tracks don´t have that (except for specific sorts of house like 'tech' :P).
