Game sequels like this has always been one of those things where you wasted a good 60 dollars on. And I have examples of the games I thought was a waste of both money and talent: DA2, Bioshock 2, Fable 3 and Star Wars Force Unleashed 2. @otter13 I cannot grasp something that is so empty that it does not even consist of atoms. Dragon Age 2 is a fat, dollar making, cheap pile of outdated moonshine that is used by one when suicide is desired.

I am not stuck with DAO, nor am I a fanatic of the "kill the menacing ugly horde to save the day" story telling.

The problem with DA2 is that it is a product that was rushed for its release and has no sould, with sterotypical characters and a Sims-like story with terrible combat added.

Isabela, Merril, and Varric are the best DA characters in the series. i say that even though i loved Morrigan, Alistair, and Ohgren in DAO.

Mass Effect 2 was dumbed down for the COD kiddies.

SWTOR is being dumbed down for the console gaymers.

In the end, all is but dumbed down for the larger audience, and the delay of ME3 and the overall game content of DA2 prove it.

You know. I played Dragon age 2. Beat it twice. I thouroughly enjoyed it. (Dragon Age 2 was a rental.) ABout two weeks afterwords when i had the money, and on the suggestion of a friend i bought Dragon Age Origins, the game of the year version. And as i'm playing through this i begin to realize just how much they've crippled Dragon Age 2. YEs some aspects are better. But overall in my opinion Origins is the clear winner between the two. For reasons i cannot go into because i have a char limit.

Dragon Age 2 has improved many aspects of Origins, it is faster, it is more responsive, dialogue system -although having some vague options- is more neat. But throughout the game I missed my old companions. Alistair, Wynne, Leliana, Oghren, Shale, Morrigan... They are irreplacable. But not Zevran. I didn't miss him, not one bit.
