  • Your a wonderfull dancer I hope I'll be able to dance like yhu some day :D p.s I'm going into my first fesh soo I'm soo existed it gonna be grate :D

  • @DinkleToes

i'm not saying u cant do well if u start late, though it does affect progression and such. half the kids on the Os team r younger than me.

    @babybeluga516

ur dance was beautiful. this is personally my fave set dance, i wanna learn it sooooo bad. GO DOWNFALL OF PARIS!!!!!

  • @DinkleToes

it makes a huge difference. when u start as late as 11 (that's when i started) its much harder to learn than if u started when u were 5. I mean, when u start young u advance more quickly because its been engrained into ur brain earlier on. also u end up in a class of 5-6 year olds and that slows down the learining process for you. none of the kids in my class can dance any of our slip jigs or our treble jigs right (i actually taught myself 2 treble jigs because our class moves slow)

  • I am also a dancer and this was lovely. you had a great sound but i would watch out for your knees. You need to get them more strait. especially when you go on toe. Otherwise good job!!

  • i totally want to learn downfall of paris to use as my stepdance

  • i normally hate downfall of paris, i think the tune is sucky and i try and avoid downfall of paris youtube uploads, but this was really wonderful! she has great sound!

  • @MBD320 Thanks so much! Haven't been on here for months but glad I came on to see your nice comment : )

  • @ DinkleToes

I agree it doesn't matter what age you start if you have the willing and compation for it you can do it and be really good!!

  • good job i irish dance too my sis did it for 9 years

  • really good dancing! :P i have honestly never seen such an unusual dress design ! :)

  • was this in a feis??

  • @twinkledancerful No, a school recital : )

  • how old are you now? i would work on straightening your knees and having a little better posture, but overall it was very good timing:)

  • was that at a feis?

  • i dont understand, how do you qualify for nationals? you mean the NANs?

  • @drunkiemee Every school has different criteria for qualifying for Nationals (Yes, NAN's), and at her Academy, they are very strict about who they allow to go. Some schools let you go if you compete in "Open Champ" level of dance, but at my daughter's Academy, you have to have placed in "Open" at least three times during the feis season. They also require approval from the owners (main teachers) of the school. Dress, wigs, etc also need to pass inspection. I hope this explains what you asked : )

  • @babybeluga516 ah ok, i thought you meant she qualified through an Oireachtas to go to nationals, like you would qualify for the worlds! her timing and rhythm are brilliant by the way!

  • Amazing!!!!! I want to try this!

  • Just one tiny thing to help you get higher scores; try to stay up on your toes a little more other than that it was great!

  • Yes i am thanks for asking! I should be back to dance actually tomorrow! Yay!!! Again really good dancing!

  • this is fabulous!!! i wish my rhythm was that good. but this looks like a competition to me b/c of the dancer in the back and the judges..

  • Great job at quali. for nationals! i wish i was good enough to be going to nationals. Though i have a couple of friends who have gone!

  • She has such wonderful heel clicks!! No matter where her heels are coming from or going.

  • how old was she here?

  • I started when i was 9.....I caught on quickly because i am inlove with the dance it is practically my life. But sadly right now i am going through PT with my ankle. had a bad fall in soccer.....not my best year. I haven't danced for almost 3 months.....That is TORTURE!!!!!

  • @Caitlynsirisheyes are you back on your feet agaiN?

  • thank you for your helpful comments! she'd love to try for worlds but she's in college now so dancing had to be stopped : (

  • She's a wonderful dancer, but I don't know what the big deal is that she started at age 11. I've heard of people who started in their 20's and gone on to the world championships. Age honestly has nothing to do with the fact that she's an amazing dancer. Practice does it all, and you can tell how much she's practiced.

  • wow i cant believe she didnt start until age 11! with irish dancing you either have it or you dont.

  • Yep, she was very determined to qualify for Nationals and she reached her goal. No goal, no glory!

  • Tell her I said Congrats on the Nationals. 49/96 is amazing!!!! Next time I am sure she'll get first, especially with dancing like that, beautiful.

  • we wish there would be a "next time!" she's in college now and couldn't keep up with the dance too : (

    Thanks for your congrats!

  • Very pretty dress and great dancing! How did she do at nationals?

  • They recalled 48 girls and she wasn't one of them....when she got her score sheet later that night, darn it, SHE FINISHED 49th out of 96!!! Go figure! But not bad for starting dance at an "older" age & her first Nationals. She was pretty frustrated but I was VERY proud of her <3

  • Lovely footwork-hope you can keep dancing in college

  • what dance school are you with?

  • Who is the musician because he is a great accordion player.

  • love the move at 108

  • I thought you looked really good and I liked the liveliness of the movement and the rhythm, too.

  • Thank you : )

  • Great job but it looks better on drums if u hit ur toe on the ground also. ur just hitting ur heel. just a heads up :)

  • Daughter agrees with you but she says that her school doesn't like that style of hitting toe on floor??? maybe you know what she means?

Thanks for the compliment & tip : )

  • lovely, but that's not a recital. there are judges writing marks, and a girl hand-dancing her steps sidestage.

  • thank you : )

It's a feis/recital that the school holds once a year for the students at the school only. They bring in one judge, who critiques the dancers so they know what they need work on : )

  • That was really really good! My only TEENY-WEENY critiscism would be to straighten up your body a bit, especially towards the end, but otherwise fantastic!!!!!

  • Thank you! We appreciate the healthy criticism....it's a way of helping the dancers and we don't take offense to it at all : )

  • Wow Really Nice :) Keep It Up :)

  • Thank you! We wish she could but she's heading to college next month and can't seem to find a way to work it in there : (

Since she got such a late start on dance, she really wanted to stick with it too <3

  • don't give up! i started at 11, and am now going to be a senior in college. I dance 4 nights a week, assist with classes 3 of those nights, work another job, and I am taking pre-med level classes. I have also qualified for the worlds every year. It is a lot of work, and very tiring, but if you really want to do it, you can! It is very often making sacrifices..should I study now instead of hanging out so I can go to dance? etc. She might find she has a lot of time! Dont rule it out yet!!

  • Thanks! i used to have lodge rd & planxty drury before but i think i like downfall best : )

  • I love Downfall of Paris and your steps are very interesting and you are a very good dancer.

  • Thank you : )

  • really, nice you have great rhythm and timing and lovely clicks, i would just say work on making it neater, as it seemed to me a little messy, not loads but just could do with tunig a bit.

really lovely though, what level are you?

  • Thank you!

We always appreciate healthy criticism. I consider it helping each other : )

  • VERY VERY nice! awsome dancing thnx for sharing xx

  • You're welcome & thank YOU so much for the compliment : )
