  • I've never seen this before. Thanks for sharing, pure vintage SRV. Watching him and thinking, he has no idea how big he is. I never saw him live.......

  • @smooretogo i did see him live in Holland at the North Sea Jazz Festival , it was loud, haha

  • I had the great fortune of seeing SRV at the University of Buffalo in 1984. I realized what it must have been for people who saw Hendrix for the first time, with that "Who is this guy and what planet did he fall of of?" feeling.

  • Before I ever played a concert, I didn't understand how stevie could dance and throw the guitar behind his head and everything cool like that. Then I finally got to play in front of an audience, that rush and adrenalin you get makes you do wild shit. I started clicking my heels, stampin my foot, sliding to the left, everything.

  • Remember, SRV was just another guitar player from Texas at this point.......This is maybe a year after if not the same year/month/tour that he played the Montreaux Blues Fest where he got Booed off the stage (total joke but whatever).....He kills it here and thanks soooo much for this Awesome Vid...The 1st timre I saw SRV was June 1984 at the Hollywood Palladium....Changed my life......MPG

  • @mpgunn True, but Montreaux was also the place where Bowie saw him and recruited him to play on Let's Dance. it was a huge break for him, at the end of the day.

  • great perfformance

  • wat does it say on chris laytons drums?

  • Thx to you and my friend Rod for sharing! Peace

  • Awesome video. Stevie war der beste Blues Gitarist .

  • Thank you for sharing

    10 on 10!!!!

  • For people like myself who were never lucky enough to experience (not just see) Stevie live these rare glimpes are wonderful, thanks Harpsucker.

  • i saw him live in Den Haag/Holland and the sound was just horror, after him was B.B.King and the sound was superb

  • i liked how he just walked away at the end lolol

  • look at his vibrator arm !!? at 5:20

  • what?

  • thanks for posting these great SRV videos Harpsucker. Incredible! vielen dank!

  • Danke shoen Harpsucker for posting these videos! Incredible! RIP SRV

  • so casual at 2:00.

  • 'scuse me while i just play behind my head better than you can play normally! lol

  • Thankyou so much for posting this I LOVED IT !!!!!

  • i think i was 12 when i saw his first austin city limits show in 1980?? been a fan every since .mise him alot thanks for vidieo

  • I love how at the end he just walks off like I GATTA GET BACK TO AMERICA this is driving me crazy!! :)

He's the man! thats exactly what I would do! walk off like.. ok thank god that is over I need a drink after this craziness and Im sure he got one!

  • What is your problem with Berlin? As far as I'm concerned, Berlin is a hell of a lot better then the USA and I'm from the USA.

SRV at the end of the video walked off slowly like he wished he could stay a couple of more days.

    Are you blind?

  • Kool!

  • God, Stevie Ray was cool!

  • @srvfan454 Don't blaspheme, it's Mr Ray ;)

  • Great footage! "der blues...der blues" Far from Texas!

  • love it thank you

  • funny to see him without hat!

  • 17 years ago yesterday, still can't believe it. Thank's to GOD for letting us borrow him and thank you Stevie for your huge contribution to music, most definately the Blues, thank's

  • thanks for posting. GREAT

    robotsrocks

  • omg when we though there's no more hear comes more..

thanks for this awesome footage rip srv....see ya at a show one day!

  • Thanks so much for this rare SRV footage! I had to kinda laugh about his outfit, I loved the tunic, but boy he could be such a Libra sometimes with those mismatched clothes, even so he was sooooo sexy. I for one will never be over the loss of him.

  • lol wtf? Libra? So what so many people do that, don't freak because of his sign.

  • yup its def because hes a libra. and because hes a libra is def the reason hes so skilled and fast aanndd slow blues if he was born in the spring he'd never be so charasmatic and skilled

  • It's funny but he doesnt look like stevie without his hat...I never got the privilege to see him in concert so it's wonderful that people are sharing videos. What in the world is she saying at the end?

  • she is talking about the relationship between SRV and the audience, thats what SRV told her in an interview before the show, anyway its just bla bla

  • i loved the tone he had that year. so on!

  • i think his tone was the best in 1983 too. I think i't because he used so little effects. just some tube sreamers and a wah wah pedal:)

  • i wonder what the whole setup on his rig was. it sounds the same as the el mocambo show.

  • I think this is a little difern't. i think i saw him dumble in one of these vids might have been part one. but it's for sure he's using less effects:I)

  • He's nervous and that while he has in fact nothing to be nervous about. Lovely.

You can see him relaxing through out the show, you can see a lot of tension in his muscles in "Pride&Joy" (Part I), but at the end (Testify, Part II) he's a lot more relaxed.

It's like the "Live from Austin, Texas" DVD. (They switch from 1983 to 1989)

  • This is what ppl say all the time"Hes Nervous" or "hes not comfortable". yall all need to shut up because U DONT KNO HIM PERSONALLY. Neither do i but damit every1 acts like they kno him. Hes a grown man. He might have a little stage fright, but every1 gets that.

  • I don't see any signs of nervousness.

  • What a motherfucker, simply the best.

I want a hat like that.

  • Thank you for sharing this with the world. It would have been a shame to have lost this. SRV- We miss you.

  • why? He was the Best

  • Tnx for posting man, never seen this video before: awesome!!!

  • ahhh i get so mad everytime i watch a performance because he is dead and i will never get to see him!!! :(

but anyway he is the best quitar player ever, in my opinion!! and soooooooooooo INCREDIBLY sexy!!
