Now you were not polite! I´m a pilot for Lufthansa, and in western europe you dont clap, because it means, that people doesn´t trust in us. You dont hear it anywhere in western and central Europe.

but you see, this plane was landed in EASTERN Europe and IT IS polite to clap by the people from that region, no matter where the plane lands. i live in us and when i fly domestic flights, i feel queer when the plane lands and it is just quite. Occasionally you can hear a decent person clap...

Usually people clap because it means that they had a safe journey on the plane. Kiev is great. I love how when you go from Borispol into Poznaki and look at all those big buildings
