can someone tell me what kind of device is the one at the end, used to capture interference and convert it into sound ? i mean the one that detects that repetitive clicking sound from the cellphone and those weird noises... id also like to know how does it work (just the basics) if someone can tell me :)
CBL, i wish you all the best. Keep up with good work and stay inspired ! Greetz from Serbia, i can tell you that you are very very respected psybient project in our country.
It's an electro magnetic amplifier (i think) I found it at a flea market...
It detects electro magnetic fields and is supposed to be used with old-school telephones to amplify the reciever... Used with florecent lights , cell phones etc it can make some really weird noises :)
i googled it and looks like youre right... it works in similar or even same way the electric guitar works and those guitar microphones that dont record actual sound, but the changes of electromagnetic field made by wire vibrations :D
..Or you can simply use an AM radio receiver. Maybe it's less sensible but it wors fine. I use it during storms to detect lightnings (and then measuring the time between lightning and thunder to know the distance).
CBL, I'm sure this will be another fantastic work and I think you're in the right way, as always. The problem is: I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!
I hope to meet you at O.Z.O.R.A. and to see your new album soon.
Thank you so much...

That thing should be just a highly amplifiying antenna. Remember how you could get that sounds with your old-style walkie talkies? Or your loud speakers amplifiying the your mobile communications? The same.
