  • We are all so busy concentrating on our home, our city, our country that we neglect our beautiful planet, which is home to all of us.

  • @jamesclemence not true, they wont be exploring the moon any more.. i don't think they will be sending manned crafts any more, they all ways launching robots and shit up there to go further without losing human life.. that's my understanding

  • @jamesclemence sadly it is true, the last one was on July 8th, 2011

  • If people would sit back and take the time to just view our world for the beauty that it truly is, to marvel at its grandness, we'd all be better off.

  • 33 people are Sputnik loving Russians.

  • Let's all get together in arms as Humans, and let's together get ourselves back into space. It's our heritage. We have been given the torch, now it's our turn to come up with the courage, and knowledge to push forward. For our kids. For the future inhabitants of Earth. For our love, and passion for science, and one hell of a rocket!

  • Absolutely beautiful...

  • where is 480 res? Its a bit weird, there is 720 but not 480.

  • I love this song, it goes so well with the video.

  • @Naismith624 Me too, I was worried the pipe playing guy from the movie Titanic may be unemployed, but this video proves he's still working.

  • That's real audio BTW. The space shuttle plays that song when it launches. It's that epic.

  • :)) exciting

  • yeah

  • really nice song man, good choice for such a video

  • The launch is Atlantis, but the landing is Endeavour... not Atlantis (see 7:27)

  • just think what mankind can accomplish if 99% of our efforts were dedicated on a united front for good.

  • Until anyone actually sees a real launch no one believes in space travel

that's why I made 2 trips frm calif to KSC in aug 2006 when they scrubbed endeavor cause of a hurricane and again on dec 9 2006 when I was lucky to see it go at night and that was luck cause they were gonna scrub again but a tiny 6 minute window opened up!!

  • no matter who we are Indian, american, russian...... together we will continue our explorations.... and bring unity.... "We stay United always" after all.. every human carries the same 10 litres of blood.... Awesome video...

  • That's our home in the universe :)

  • the americans will need to face the fact that they are on a downward path and that there time as the up and coming nation has now past.while they build huge buildings in china, they are finding it hard in the USA to fill theres.I am more scared of what America will do to try and preserve what they have been left with.than how the chinese will use there new power.europe has seen power come and go between nations and one thing thats for sure is prosperity has always came after war.

  • @2491cc yes you are fake and gay get to bed its well past your bedtime and i wont tell you again BUGGS BUNNY

OR ROADRUNNER ONLY this section requires a brain which you dont have obviously.

  • @morgielivie you're fake and gay

  • @2491cc How the hell is this fake? Are you retarded?

  • @JB9208 me not knowing

  • A fantastic tribute for a vehicle with a great legacy that in years to come we will be able to look back on and be immensly greatful for. On behalf of humanity: Thank You America for the Space Shuttle.

  • @outlaw2571 I hear you.

Makes one wonder though ... are they really getting rid of them, or are they simply standing down for now? I know Bolden has announced where they're going, and I also know that Discovery is well on its way to being a museum piece. However, here's what you might not know: As of last week, Endeavour is still in mission-down, flight-ready condition and will stay that way for the forseeable future.

  • @outlaw2571 most engineers werent even american

  • @outlaw2571 buahahaha!

  • Video maravilhoso!!!

    Nosso PLANETA é muito lindo!!!

Agradeço a nosso senhor Deus por tudo em nome de Jesus amém.

    Theo santana

  • For the Human Race!

  • TOO BAD WE WILL NEVER SEE A SIGHT THIS BEAUTIFUL AGAIN!!!! At least not in my lifetime. FUCKING BALLS IN MY FACE!!!! YOU HEAR ME OBAMA, YOUR FUCKING BALLS ARE IN MY FACE!!!! FUCKING ASS RAPE A CLOWN!!!

  • amazing! I almost cry

  • yep its amazing! the technology and know-how of the human race is astonishing! yet we are still driving around using pre-historic internal combustion engine technology...

  • Saw it from KSC!!! Words can't explain any part of seeing and being a part of history.

  • absolutely amazing brought a lump to my throat how silly is that it has that power

over mind and spirit i suppose .Thank you all at NASA .

  • To Boldly Go....... In fascination, with the eyes of the world we stare. Thank you NASA for allowing us all to look up at the stars to wonder and dream. We Come In Peace for ALL mankind. Ex Astris, Scientia!

  • Beutiful movie, this is american excellence.

  • To move forward is to let go of the past.... we live in a world where the value of the human spirit is measured by the value of the dollar, we as a human race can never move towards a future without learning to get along with one another, our differences in culture, religion, faith, & lifestyle will always hold us back. Thankyou NASA for giving us a glimpse at a future I know I will never see but we can only dream.

  • @tweet2999

space shuttles must be retired because of the technology is "old fashioned", the U.S. is always the foremost when it comes to technology, the next step is clearly the planet in March, and the U.S. will experience than the "new moon landing". This will require much work and good people, but I'm sure they will do the job well, and I hope the U.S. will always be provided when it comes to technology and freedom.

  • man, this is just epic, next thing we know we're developing plasma engines, now THAT would be epic amirite?

  • I never understood why no one has ever created a 24/7 live HD camera from space as a channel. I would watch that alot!!!!!!!

  • inspirador!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cool video, the music by Michael W. Smith from his Album "Freedom" very appropriate…

  • Comment removed

  • Don't worry. Virgin will take us there. Just keep saving.

  • I have no problem with the retirement itself, the shuttle is showing its age. What really gets me its that there is nothing comparable to replace it.

  • Friday will be a sad day..... stupid politicans and reporters they killed the shuttle... Americas Concorde moment

remember Friday folks because you will never see anything like this again as nasa is out of the space race There will never be a vehicle as great as the Shuttle and without it the human race is not going anywhere.

Shame on you George Bush and shame on you Barack Obama I thought you where smarter than this... A Sad Day...The Day, the world lost its future..

  • earth is beautiful

  • strange black object @ 4:56 right of screen

  • Mai visto niente di più emozionante!

  • 30 people are not fucking human

  • Awesome video!

  • I watch this video every day and it inspires me.

  • It was the launch of Atlantis, but the return of Endeavor...

  • So...tried real hard not to cry...and I forgot I was actually on Earth and not in space myself. Makes me proud to be human...goood stuff!

  • it starts from a paper and a pencil :)

  • Recuerdas cuando la informacion del video estaba a la derecha?

Recuerdas cuando no habia anuncios comerciales?

  • Fuck! We need to save this beauty. STOP GLOBAL WARMING!!

  • "I FUCKING HATE YOU GRAVITY!!" - shouts the engines.

  • Wow, that second to the last shot of the moon setting over the Earth's horizon was really spectacular. Some fantastic shots in here set to appropriate music.

  • I am feeling so tiny. The earth is so beautiful. Why do we see wars..such a shame.

  • @sadiamel you are so horny

  • @sadiamel Wars create the capital necessary for things like shuttle launches to be possible (for the short answer anyway)

  • @sbranson01 but wars suck money away from us and prevent us from funding programs like the shuttle program.

  • Such a shame that the shuttles are being grounded because of money. This is magnificent.

  • @manumenzella04 Well we have the next generation of space flight to look forward to now; silver lining.

  • I think i saw my planet.

  • truly stunning!

Watch this video (in 720p of course). It's a collection of the best Nasa videos in HD and commentated by NASA engineers. Its moving.

    watch?v=vFwqZ4qAUkE

  • Amazing video with just the right music. I'm going to be extremely sad when they retire these beasts.

  • It's truly amazing what the human race can accomplish.

  • @korinkoj1 I live right by an airport and watch planes land and takeoff all the time - it still blows my mind. But to launch a shuttle into space and recover it safely - indescribable.

  • @korinkoj1 right? once we master immortality we'll be all set. (which we will proably see in our life time)

  • @korinkoj1 it's also amazing the things we can't accomplish

  • @korinkoj1 You mean what Europeans can accomplish right?

  • @korinkoj1 imagen what we could accomplish if we was all united instead of these's pointless wars :).

  • @sedgie09 Exactly

  • @korinkoj1 yeah so amazing its such a shame they use most of the inteligence to cause war and kill each other :(

  • Thsoe who voted thumbs down are either: 1) American haters or 2) Doesn't have any brains to like science.

  • wow this is really amazing! i wish i could do this someday

  • @57vgh Unfortunately, Obama has stopped the space shuttle launches and has cancelled nasa's return to the moon :(

  • @SHdudeproductions actually, Obama didn't stop the space shuttle launches. Bush planned that when he started the Constellation program back in like 2004. In fact, a shuttle mission was added under the Ob
