I'd say look at a Epiphone Les Paul or Epiphone SG, and any amp with a distortion toggle will be fine

@RVDFAN364 amp for metal and rock would be Peavey Vypyr 15 or 30 depending on budget.

The Squier Strat is cheap and is good for rock or for a bit of a heavier option An Ibanez GRG170 is good but thats £200 hope this helped

@RVDFAN364 i say ibanez, there cheep guitars and awesome for that on the other hand the ibanez artcore is more for blues and jazz so you wanna look up guitarcenter and then type in ibanez and find the look you like just don't get the artcore because it is ment for jazz and the blues :) hope i helped

@RVDFAN364 if ur just now starting dont buy a real expensive guitar.. start with like a starcaster its one of the cheap guitars good for begginers though and if u feel that u really liking guitar i would go for a fender jaguar :)

@RVDFAN364 I have a Jackson JS1R Dinky for 200 $ In my oppinion it is a great beginner guitar beceause you can play various style of music with it and I have a POD UX1 from line 6 it is great but you have to put a lot of time in it to find a good setting. the POD can be plugged in an amp so other people can hear it and you can still get your setting from your POD on it. I hope that it can help

@RVDFAN364 I have a jackson JS1R for 200 $ (CAN) and I have a POD UX1 for 160 $ (CAN) and I think that it is a good beginner guitar and ''amp''. a pod is something you put in your computer and I have about 30 amps and a lot of effect. but I think that jackson and Ibanez guitar are realy good rock/metal guitar in MY opinnion go try them out!

@RVDFAN364 someone probably already suggested it but try an inbanez. not really a big metal guy. but you can really play any type of music with any guitar . you just need the right pick ups , u can use teles, strats, esp's ,ibanez etc. you can pick it apart and put new pickups and work on it yourself if you dont like the outcome.

By looking at the head stock shape, I'd guess Vigier, an Excalibur model, but dont quote me. Google Vigier guitars they sell 'em world wide.

If it is a Vigier brace yourself, they're really expensive.
