That was a really good video!

  • Ooooh that is a very good idea!! Thank you for posting it up! Im'a start looking for old fashioned clothes. Then somehow mix and match it with the new modern look, to come up with originality. Thanks for the tips! :) or i might go the hard way and try and make my own clothes xD

  • Awesome. :D

  • i lol'd at the Malice Mizer pun :) i never thought of using old-fashioned jewelry like that before, thx!

  • i just noticed i've got the same L wristband you got awesome :D

  • you! are an absolute legend :')

you're so funny :') and your styles pretty cool :P

  • HAHAH! "No, Just kidding, they're only for use on your mum ;)"

  • Your accent is fucking amazing.

  • Uh... yes, most of the Viskei kids in Japan DO buy their clothes from 'specialist shops', actually. Brands like Putumayo, Sexpot, Deorart, Moitie, Alice Auaa, MAM and many more all specialise in Viskei and inspired styles.

Brand and brand snobbery is very important over there. Not that they *don't* get creative a lot of the time, but most wear lots of designer clothes too.

PS: it's pronounced like a pure 'keh', not 'kayy'. Come on, I'm English too but it doesn't take a lot to say it right. :I

  • @Melliecakes I study japanese and so if i were trying to say it the japanese way as opposed to te english way i wouldnt do it half-arsed like you and i would call it 'VIJARU KEI'! ok fine, rich people/japanese visual kei stylists may go to specialist shops XD lmao, but how many of my subscribers are able to afford it and then import on top! to be fair the stuff they sell at sexpot you can buy in camden cheaper, if people just bought it all online there's no individuality and no fun

  • @Mangafairy Not to be a pedantic arse, but I say 'kei' as it's pronounced in Japanese because *that is not in English when you say it*. 'Visual' is a loaned English word, not a Japanese one, so that does not actually need Engrishing up in order to be correct.

By your logic, if I wanted to say that something was 'au courant' in a sentence in English, I'd either have to say it 'oh currant' or something Anglicised like that, or say the entire sentence with a French accent. .__.

  • @Mangafairy And because Youtube's character limits are ridiculously short for my tl;dr--

It's not hard to afford second-hand brand. ^^ I've bought things like a rare Ba-Tsu skirt for £8 and a Sexpot long-sleeved top for £5 on eBay via careful looking, or a Putumayo parka on egl_comm_sales for £15, all in great condition& just cheap from having gone through the hands of several careful owners. I get brand whenever I can because it's so much better in quality and design-- just never buy it new! :>

  • @Melliecakes ebay? gah this is what ive been saying! you dont need to buy anything from specialist shops at all EVER or if you are really that bothered about brand go buy sexpot and look seriously generic and being honest the best places are charity shops where you can buy old style things and manipulate them yourself how you want.

  • I like the clothes, but what do you wear when you live in a place where it gets hot up to 120 F /45 C ?

  • @rolangel777 thats when you wear things like white vk shirts instead of jackets :O where do you live? that's hot! x

  • @Mangafairy I live in Las Vegas, NV, USA. :I

  • intresting, but one question. any sugestions on places where i can get goggles that dont look like im going swiming?

  • @GothChibi999 ebay :P 'punk goggles'

  • @Mangafairy

lol didnt think of that, but thank u

  • You are a disgrace to our Japanese culture.

  • @mauriceo10 then why did u like the vid? hmm

  • @Mangafairy Sorry,am truly sorry.ganbarimasu to not put down others. You are a disgrace to the nihongo culture.I'm sorry san Mangafairy.I found out my grandmother just died and before i left to go see my grandmother in the hospital i favorite this video and this is the last video i left on and i was so mad.

  • @mauriceo10 'You are a disgrace to the nihongo culture' why did you say it again if you're sorry? :S and im sorry to hear that, it's fine x

  • @Mangafairy I die grass.

  • @mauriceo10 what does that mean? :P

  • @Mangafairy it's something say when you want to get off a topic and go to another topic so you end it with i die grass.

  • @mauriceo10 ...that's 'digress'

  • @mauriceo10 and you use 'i digress' when you've accidentally left the original conversation and want to get back to it lol :P x

  • @Mangafairy I'm not very use to the english language, thats what i meant.

  • @mauriceo10 no its cool, don't worry :)

  • @mauriceo10 Well you are a disgrace too. /: Learn some respect, I don't recall us Japanese people being so rude.

  • @MrShiDragon Thanks for that ^^ my videos are only for fun, people are very serious sometimes... :)

  • @Mangafairy Ikr!! As the Joker says, WHY SO SERIOUSS. D<

  • @MrShiDragon hehe amazing film- Dark Knight Rises will be awesome!

  • @MrShiDragon I am truly sorry,i let my anger take over me.No one a disgrace, once again i apologize mata ne.

  • .w. uruha style ftw!

  • while you are recycling, find an old how to sew book and do some reading! and i am saying this as an expereinced seamstress! the hems need to be lined up and pinned before you begin sewing because, yes, people will noticed if the front is longer than the back at the side seam! permanent marker? check the notions section at your local craft or fabric store - there are all types of marking tools which dont permanently stain the fabric you are working on.

  • would stores like Hot Topic be a good place to find VK stuff

  • @PrincessLunaEclipse some things yes x

  • @PrincessLunaEclipse

Yeah, But you can modify and alter clothes to get them into the VK style

  • Its there any kind of store you would suggest to find VK style in (or what can be used for the style) im in america so most stores here are all like wired and honestly slutty styl •~•wish i waz back in england lol

  • @hiddencospro ...maybe try gothic stores, but you would need to select things that are more visual kei, or accesorise them, you could also try visual-you

  • @Mangafairy cool thanks

  • @hiddencospro Try going on Livejournal's egl_comm_sales and Visual_fuckers sales posts and searching for second-hand clothes from street fashion brands. Tokyo Rebel also sells Putumayo and Sexpot Revenge and some others, but they're expensive.

Or how about trying some modding? Look for plain baggy tops to slash, screen-printed tees, harem pants, faded denim skinny jeans to rip up, engineer boots, thin silk and chiffon scarves, chunky jewellery; anything leopard/zebra-print or plaid is good too.

  • Cool! I like it. + you are Cute

  • thxx !

this is really help me . .

  • you wiinnn

I apreciate the fact that you know what you're talking about ;D

I make a lot of my own jewelry, you can go to the jewelry section of almost any department store and buy some really cool pendants. I like to add several to one necklace

if you're creative you can make anything look visual kei style

the trick is to make do with what you have c:

any American should have no excuse since they can find plenty of visual kei style clothing in Hot Topic!!!

  • yupp youre hair is amazing!

  • OH MAI GOSH!!! I HAVE THAT SAME EXACT L WRISTBAND AT THE END! XD HAHA!

  • @Eimininja Hi in japanese you say the sounds- mi ya vi

  • @Mangafairy thx =D

  • i really like visual kei i am person who wants look different to other guys i hate when people get confused me whit other person -.- for that i want to be a vk guy XD

  • you know what really works best? Dressing like a guy and not a homo. It really does help a lot with the ladies. lol

  • @KRiderMan1248 haha XD thats dumb, i find soo many VK guys HOT! guy's VK hair is just incredible!

  • @CLARRYHARENDUZ8 i really hate your comment is not only making Mangafairy mad it makes me mad (yes im a dude :P) it makes every visual kei/oshare kei/kota kota kei/j-rock girl mad when they read it and if you don't like the video whyed you watch it. so next time be nice and compliment her on somthing.i can admit she is very cute (lol) so think b4 typing somthing next time

  • @KidChonny It's okay I'm not mad haha :) I'm pretty used to silly comments (my pet peeve being people asking what the song name is when I put at the end) :) But i really didn't see how anyone could think that any style could be aimed at just one sex? Even decora has a male counterpart :P And thanks but im really not cute haha (cam make everyone look good i think) x

  • Hey, just wanted to let you know I am going to feature your video in my tumblr (quasi-marie.tumblr.com) blog. I really appreciate your insight on how Visual Kei/punk is and want to say I back you 100%, thanks. Hopefully my followers will be just as inspired as I am now. :3 <3 Keep it up. Also, I LOVE your hair! Could you possibly give me some coloring and styling tips if you haven't put up a video for one yet? x3

  • @surrealsaku Yea that's cool you're welcome to use it. And thanks :) I'm really not that good at hair XD haha my hair vids are just because they're quite easy to style. As for colouring, I can next time I dye my hair :) x

  • aaaaaaaaaa yeh your right

    Sorry about that

just didint think ya voice was good with v kei (V系の服) and the pics and what you are doing. But nice hair

  • Your voice is sooooo annoying

  • @liamtonypearson Ive had lots of comments saying it's awesome so you can get lost for all i care, i was putting on a teachy voice-> see my other videos to hear me talk normally

  • @CLARYHORRENDUZ8 As is any style i suppose? only aimed at one sex! what a ridiculous statement. google images visual kei and almost EVERY image has a girl in (and the ones that dont have a boy cross dressing as a girl!)

  • @CLARYHORRENDUZ8 you silly silly person. you must be very ill

  • @CLARYHORRENDUZ8 there are female visual kei bands you know. what a noob!! kidding but you should inform yourself before saying anything.

  • OMG YOUR AWESOME!!!

  • Where did you get that hat O.O???

  • @xEWIGxVERDAMMTx which hat? :P

  • @Mangafairy the military one :)

  • @xEWIGxVERDAMMTx a military surplus store :P just google online

  • @Mangafairy Thanks dear :P

  • dudei love your voice!! haha!

  • im in love with u btw. youre sooo coool!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • i have always been into this kind of fashion. sadly i wouldnt look good in it :/

thanks for the vid ^ ^ really enjoyed it you did a good job :3

  • 1:02 i wear that for are cance cru ( WW2CRU)

  • Awmagad, just love your accent :D "The God of all jackets, I LOVE jackets"

  • Thanks for this. As an American VK/steampunk/lolita dresser, I honestly haven't the money to buy things from specialty stores and am constantly looking in odd places for my accessories and/or making them myself. Thanks for making me feel vindicated :D

  • In Lm.c one of them wears a hair band with it spiked up at the back I think the pocket watch reminds me of steampunks. x

  • 15fucking quid?!?! damn me for being 6 hours away from london

  • @XxMCRxFANxANNAxX Camden market

  • @Mangafairy is gothic clothing good couse us in germany goth is like a regigion

  • Are you able to do alot with your hair? Like... VK style things? If you are, would you sind me a pic of it so I can go get my hair done like that? xD

    KthnxBaai!

  • @SimplyDawnx33 just ask for it very layered so you can spike it and stuff (you could and i hate to say it... ask for a 'scene' style. you can style it how you want after :)

  • @Mangafairy thegoggles are like that naruto wears :)

  • Ehmm, sorry, but here in Belgium, unless you're rich, or kinda rich, you can't uy that stuff. Sooo, I need to save up 6 months for decent clothing...

  • @CherryFlavouredFluff buy it online then :P

  • LOL. The handcuffs. Thanks for this <3

  • I know I find it hard to find clothing VK or Jrock but what Im thinking is because sometimes people look at clothing or things how they are alone instead of as whole [lets say you could pair it up with something] cause if you look at thing as they are alone[sadly i do that] then you wont be able to create an outfit . and also when you go shopping i think itd be cool to take a few photos of a look your aiming for for reference .

  • I'm jealous I want your hair! x3

  • You need to add more volume to your hair.

  • @leeisinyoursock;; LOLWHAT. Why?

  • i love you!! *¬*

    seriusly, you are so cute!!

  • Camden is the god of all VK clothes me thinks

GO TO SAI SAI UK VK'S UPSTAIRS THEY DO VISUAL K FASHION!!

  • @BilliGurlxx I love Sai Sai!! I went to Camden the other day looking for it, it's AMAZING ^_^

  • Finally. Someone I found addresses the fact that visual kei inspired clothing can be found ANYWHERE. I hate being told "Hot Topic doesn't account for Visual Kei" when it does. Half the things you showed us, can be found at Hot Topic here in the US. Yes, it's expensive and I despise that fact but it is there. They have great sales where I got am Exist Trace-looking corset for 11 dollars when it was originally like 25 or 26. Also, WalMart, DEBS, JC Penny's, Kohls, and Sears have VK looking items.

  • @KyoLover2011 Without sounding ageist or cheap chartiy shops can have some great stuff (especially jewelery from elderly people :D) And if you want to make something then it's like buying material cheap!

  • hey have you gotten in to oshare kei yet?i tthink u should try it ^_^

  • ty for da tips...ive thought of making my own, but never had the courage to do stuff like tht to regular stuff tht tht...i kno exactly wat im doin now...XDD

  • how did u get handcuffs?????

  • @414caramel ... i bought them...

  • @Mangafairy hey i just wanted to know where did u buy ur googles because ive been searching for them and i keep gettin things lik swimming googles . could u plz let me now where i could get them for cheap ?

  • @moriboto1 hey they are from Cyberdog- camden

  • @Mangafairy oh thank you ! for a moment i wuz going to buy skiing googles . lol . THANKS .:)

  • Nice tips :)! Thanks.

  • your forgetting a part of visual kei, your eyebrows... you wanna be visual kei, do em, and do em good...

  • Comment removed

  • I wouldn't wear vk daily. It's nice when you dress up, for concerts/events, but daily... Not even the artists do. (:

Oh, Tomo of vistlip has such lovely casual clothes.

  • stunning recommendations- thanks!, anyone tested Revlons new range of products?! its not easy to find decent makeup in Center Point but you can get magnificent samples of make-up by checking out 'Gratis Makeup Samples', their handy!

  • w8, so with us being the the uk, which shops do u tend to go in, presumably not top shop and river island XP

  • Your amazing.

  • My type of vk is the gazette. Super tight pants with a tight short shirt and mid boots

  • Tips on how to work with long zipped up black converse that go alway up to the knee. I always wear black skinny jeans with a black corset with a jacket on top with those converse's but is there more ways? Help

  • @abeautifulredrose if i had long black converse (lucky) id wear them with a skirt to show them off. You could add brighter coloured laces to make them stand out more.

  • @Mangafairy I have all black high-top converse with neon pink laces. Best looking thing ever lol

  • cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200484411743#ht_500wt_947

Just sending this to people interested in visual kei.

  • I absolutely love your style. And the Tutorial was very helpful for me, because I enjoy at least knowing the basics. I knew that it was a lot of just personal preference but when ever I was looking for inspiration for cloths and such my searches would lead me to hair and make-up (which I do love) and not what I as really looking for.

  • I do the same thing, I find most of my stuff at New Hope...most of my friends always say they buy theirs but I'd rather make mine, that way not only does it look like Visual Kei, but it's also MY style as well ^.^
