The reason why this is discouraged to do in a non controlled atmosphere is that Sulfur Hexafluoride is about 6x denser than air, meaning that it is harder to expel from your lungs than helium or normal air, and since your body cannot run on Sulfur hexafluoride as opposed to Oxygen you can asphyxiate (die of lack of oxygen)
more like 5 times denser... it "could" kill you if thats all you were breathing but its harmless non toxic just like helium it wont kill you unless your an idiot.
you probably can do it just getting the gas itself is gonna be hard. Once you do get it and inhale it to get the voice effect you have to remember when your done to stand on your head and breathe deeply to remove it from your lungs its a heavy gas so it will stay in your lungs if you don't stand on your head
Ah, that's great. I'd love to do this for my class - unfortunately, I don't think any chance of me getting $100+ for a lecture bottle. Nice demo though!
@TheAdmiralPancake you won't necessarily DIE, but you could very well throw up. You could die, but chances are, whoever is doing this experiment, knows what they're doing.

You might not die, but you certainly wouldn't be happy if you do it wrong.
TheAdmiralPancake 3 months ago
@spiritkiller628 Well yes and no, If you inhale just this several times you will pass out after lack of oxygen
