i got one of these a while ago.i was a jimi hendrix fanatic at the time. its not a horrible pedal. some good hendrix tones.but i agree that you could get better by other methods.but if you just wanna take an easy way to access pretty good jimi sounds, id go with this pedal. on their on with a little imagination, you can find other good uses for this pedal too. all the settings are pretty useable, but do kinda lack some of the control i would like. think i might sell it. need a new guitar. hahaha

Am I the only one that thinks this pedal sounds bloody awful!? His playing is fine, but the quality of effect is pretty shocking. Voodoo child sounded ok, but that's it I reckon... maybe is the amp he's using, or poor connection.

This is just a multi fx pedal so people can get similar sounds without paying a thousand bucks for all the pedals. How do you not get it? Do you even play the guitar? @TheDilligan The wah wah is hendrix only, it doesn't function as a "normal" wah wah pedal.

I have this pedal and was a little disappointed about that too. When I first got it all the effects sounded a bit "too much" for me. Its not easy to tweak. Didn't use it for 2 years but i'm giving it a second chance now. You also need a really good (tube)amp to make it work. It's not the "definitive hendrix pedal". I've heard people getting hendrix tones with all kinds of other pedals. (in my opinion)

I have this pedal (on a trade), and what I don't like about it is the volume/gain settings BLOW YOU AWAY from tone to tone setting, as in, they're so freaking LOUD from a soft one previously, it makes it really hard to switch from one song setting to another without reaching down and readjusting first.

Pedal is acceptable considering all the effects in the market today. This guys' playing is amzing! Damn he's good at what he does and a great guitar player.

Hendrix was famous because he had his own unipue style and playing and every one is trying to be like him as much as they can and people are constantly coming out with pedals. Before there was no specific blues sound but now theres pedals for you to get a "blues" sound pretty rediculous if you ask me. Just be you make a sound you like.

Way way more distortion. Jimi's distortion was analog-high volume. This is digitally simulated at much lower volume and sounds way too deep and grungy! But you'll think you sound cool!

@AllBluesCat if you watch the video of on the GuitarWorld channel, demo-ing the Dunlop Authentic Hendrix Series Pedals, Paul explicitly states he's not allowed to play real Hendrix riffs. I think in this video the copyrights thing is already taken care of. It's obviously Hendrix riffs, but it's more appropriate to demo with the actual songs because the 7 sounds from this pedal are based on the hit songs. And I agree Paul is a really good musician. His other vids he's brilliant at shredding.

Digitech is very cool! The guitar playing in this vid really does it justice. This pedal does a great job for getting those old time Hendrix tones for those Hendrix cats out there. I pair mine with a good octavia octave up pedal. Tried the Roger Mayer octavia but was disappointed. The 'Fillmore Thunder' by Elite Tone is awesome the octave notes ring out clear undistorted. It rocks a groovy BC108 Fuzz in the same box. Mine was $177 I think. Well worth it!

@Tranquil787 well theres also an octavia, and ome other types of octave pedals. it basically makes the guitar play a note an octave higher than you are playing. so you will hear the normal octave and the higher octave at the same time. jimi used it on purple haze and one rainy wish. he didnt really use it live though.

I bought this pedal a couple years ago and it is a fun toy, but I would definitely not recommend it. You are MUCH better off getting a tube amp, an overdrive pedal(if you can't crank the amp all the time in your neighborhood), a fuzz/octave up pedal, and a wah pedal. This pedal is fun to toy around with, but believe me it sounds too good to be true (and indeed is).
