Dear lord, what did I just listen to...? I'm sorry, this is not the guns and roses from '88 at the Ritz. It's not even in the same universe... You're kidding yourself if you think this the 'Same 'ol guns!'. I gave it a chance but this is not guns n roses...
Damn... I had heard that this song was horrible, but this is actually DAMN BADASS! I had bought Democracy, and thought it was OK. Before yesterday.
I listened the whole album through 2 times, and now that I think it... it rocks! No matter what ''Real GnR fans'' say, Chinese Democracy (and this song) kicks ass!

There were parts like Shackler's and Better that I didn't like but this takes them to a whole nother worse level IMO.

I'm a huge Dave Navarro fan, it'd be interesting to hear what he would've done if he had been a full-time member of GNR. In my opinion, he's a better guitar player than Slash. Slash just plays the same shit, Navarro plays it all. Heavy, chordy, textured, flashy, jam-based, funky, etc.
@foogledoo32 Wrong, I've listened to every GNR album and the first Velvet Revolver album. I'm willing to bet you haven't listened to all of Jane's albums from start to finish. If you had, you would know that Navarro is better than Slash.

@kistucs - It was heavily rumoured to be on Chinese Democracy but it never made it to the final release it seems... this song IS on an album though - the End of Days Soundtrack has this song as the song featured both in the movie and in the end credits of the movie. Hope this helps you :)

@kistucs chinese democracy was supposed to come out in 1999 and this song was released in 1999 for the end of days movie in anticipation for the album.
The only thing I have to say is OH MY GOD!! Although the song is ok, it sounds nothing like Guns N Roses... Just compare this song to "Patience", absolutely everything is different: the guitar, the voice, the drums and the bass. It must be the proof that Axl Rose is an amazing composer.
I understand why Slash wanted to leave when Axl wanted to make music like this, this is not bad tho but Slash would never agree to play music like this.

A true fan would never say something like: "They are great now as well as they were great back then". There is no band who is great about one person especially GN'R where everyone had his special charisma and this made the band so great. Without the others Axl has only the old hits and nothing else! Every true fan of GN'R knows that only Appetite for Destruction is a TRUE GN'R's album. After then without Izzy and Steven it wasn't the same.

Early Guns were better, but there are no GnR without Slash, this is Axels solo album, and Slash made one solo too, and it's fuckin' great, far better than this, at least in my opinion.

Look at how many fans he has already that do promoting for him.
@18andLifeSR Well it is not how you think. I mean how would you feel if your best guitarist just left and now you have to replace him. Slash as most people say is irreplaceable which is why Guns has took a sharp turn so Axl can find a guitarist. See Buckethead just came in 2001 and he already got pissed off because a record wasn't out by 2002. GNR never worked on anything after 1993 so obviously they would have nothing(except a few songs). Right there would make 3 and the rest are in guns so....
@18andLifeSR Guns has also been promoting themselves but only through t-shirts and so far only 1 or 2 tv ads(done by the event they are playing at). If slash was so that he wouldn't need all this promotion. A friend of mine said a friend of theirs went to one of slash's concerts and it only had like 300-500 people. Obviously the promotion isn't working and it is because he does it too often.
@diablo9333 don't do that friend of a friend bullshit man... Guns started working on new music in 1995 and that is also when Slash left because Axl was being a dick as usual. Slash stated that Axl was being a dictator, same reason why the rest left as well. I love Axl's new music and Slash's, but I'm pretty sure Slash is just a better business man. If you had your own company are you going to just let the people come to you without promoting? of course you're not.
@18andLifeSR Yes you are right. They were working on Sympathy for the devil for a movie. ONLY ONE SONG. That isn't even close to enough to put on an album. You usually need to make 24-26 songs and then the label chooses what ones they like the most. If you haven't noticed Duff is like slash's puppet. He loves Axl now but hated him when he left. Heck he went on stage with him a couple of months ago. Axl is Duffs friend again and he has no problems with Izzy or Matt(as said in an interview).
@diablo9333 actually incase you didn't know which you obviously don't, Slash was working with Axl at the beginning of Chinese Democracy and then left because he didn't like Axl's style switch to a more industrial rock. You need to stop focusing on Axl's point of view as well. Slash stated in an interview that it was possible for a gunners reunion and he would for the fans but when Axl stated that he would die before reuniting with Slash, Slash changed his mind because of Axl's usual stubborness.
@diablo9333 either way man they are both being littl girls about the situation. Guns N' Roses (original) is my favourite band but they need to grow up and do this for the fans, seriously how can you hold a grudge against someone for over a decade unless ther is something they havn't said.
@diablo9333 I like Steven Adler's frame of mind though, "I put prayers in with Jesus and God all the time. 'Please just go talk to Axl,' I say. "I love the stuff we did together in my heart and my soul. It needs to be taken out of the shell and put back in the world. Two generations of people have already missed it. I think it's unfair".

The reason it's on a list like that is because the guys who made it were probably mad that old Guns broke up. Just a bunch of whiny fags who have nothing better to do. I admit, it's not the best song but it's surely not the worst. I admit i hated it when it first came out, but after a while it grew on me. It's pretty good. but that's my opinion, you have a right to hate it.

@mbarrett12 GN'R was Izzy Stradlin and Axl Rose, and if you've heard ChiDem you'd realize Axl does just fine without Izzy, nonetheless, I'm very excited about the song on the next Guns album that is co-written by Izzy, Down By The Ocean. Axl didn't push them out, they chose to leave.

@beanolabub Adler was a junkie, and Gilby was never meant to be permanent. "Axl phoned me one day and told me that he had written some new stuff that wasn't like the old material. So he thought that my way of playin' guitar wouldn't give these new songs the right sound, or the way he wanted it to sound. But I wouldn't say that they fired me, or that I quit. My job as a guitarist in Guns just "stopped".

@ShotyKilla Well ask Axl, Scott and the Members of GNR and slash's snakepit. He moves onto new bands every couple of years because he gets "bored" of playing the same songs. He just filed for divorce from his wife and before GNR he just left the band he was in when he played with them for longer than he knew Axl. He is all in it for money. If he cared he wouldn't be like he is today. Everything he does is commercial. He goes to a signing every week just to promote himself.

I don't hate slash I just think the spends too much time promoting where new gnr has had at least 4-5 shows sold out without a ton of promotion.

He is always late for shows, it took him over a decade to do Chinese Democracy, band members are always changing because of him. I believe ther wer 4 different guitarists on chinese damocracy whereas Slash still sells out shows and tours and yes promotes himself, but why not? Look at how many fans he has already that do promoting for him.

@18andLifeSR Well it is not how you think. I mean how would you feel if your best guitarist just left and now you have to replace him. Slash as most people say is irreplaceable which is why Guns has took a sharp turn so Axl can find a guitarist. See Buckethead just came in 2001 and he already got pissed off because a record wasn't out by 2002. GNR never worked on anything after 1993 so obviously they would have nothing(except a few songs). Right there would make 3 and the rest are in guns so....

@18andLifeSR Guns has also been promoting themselves but only through t-shirts and so far only 1 or 2 tv ads(done by the event they are playing at). If slash was so that he wouldn't need all this promotion. A friend of mine said a friend of theirs went to one of slash's concerts and it only had like 300-500 people. Obviously the promotion isn't working and it is because he does it too often.

Slash stated that Axl was being a dictator, same reason why the rest left as well. I love Axl's new music and Slash's, but I'm pretty sure Slash is just a better business man. If you had your own company are you going to just let the people come to you without promoting? of course you're not.

@18andLifeSR Yes you are right. They were working on Sympathy for the devil for a movie. ONLY ONE SONG. That isn't even close to enough to put on an album. You usually need to make 24-26 songs and then the label chooses what ones they like the most. If you haven't noticed Duff is like slash's puppet. He loves Axl now but hated him when he left. Heck he went on stage with him a couple of months ago. Axl is Duffs friend again and he has no problems with Izzy or Matt(as said in an interview).

@diablo9333 actually incase you didn't know which you obviously don't, Slash was working with Axl at the beginning of Chinese Democracy and then left because he didn't like Axl's style switch to a more industrial rock. You need to stop focusing on Axl's point of view as well. Slash stated in an interview that it was possible for a gunners reunion and he would for the fans but when Axl stated that he would die before reuniting with Slash, Slash changed his mind because of Axl's usual stubborness.

"I love the stuff we did together in my heart and my soul. It needs to be taken out of the shell and put back in the world. Two generations of people have already missed it. I think it's unfair".
