There's nothing wrong with feeling strongly on politics, but it's ok as a NIN fan to admit Year Zero didn't suck you in right away. I choose to forget about the little "Bush stage" he was going through because how many shitty bands relied on Bush and politics to release an album? I will never put NIN in that shitty category (because they're not). He's sober now so of course the music is changed. Trent still has a lot of anger he can focus on.

Most albums don't have a television ad, With Teeth did. Only received much radio play and had a great video, With Teeth sold greatly among those who actually don't understimate Reznor and wasn't comercially released as The Fragile was.
